Awesome to have you back! The AP is absolutely beautiful, that bracelet as it's rotated and each segment catches the light is pure perfection.
That AP is stunning. But for anyone just getting into watches and can only afford the Chinese watch. It's decent. Everyone has to start somewhere. Then one day maybe you will be lucky to get the AP.
My Sellita SW500 and Tudor have also a clutch so you can't overwind it. That's a very common thing.
My Vostok Amphibia for 50£ also have it.
Finally LWC found that he has an UA-cam channel.

Exactly. It's exactly made for those who cannot afford $1000 watches, let alone $100000. Not taking aides for copying designs/etc but the world isn't exactly filled with multimillionaires.

You should make another one of these but showcase a more expensive cheap watch. Like a San Martin GMT to a Rolex etc. Because if you buy the Chinese watches in the £250 range the finishing is honestly very very good and they even use Swiss movements
The difference is mainly in overall design. Try a £500 replica, you will see little difference

I can see the amount of time and quality for the AP. But the value the Chinese can offer for the price is just insane.

Tbh I think all skeletons look tacky and cheap just not for me. I think the main differences can only be seen up very close, and the bracelet on the AP is far superior. But other than that its really not a HUGE difference like the price. And obviously the movement in the AP will be far more reliable and is far more superior.
I think once these chinese brands (some of them already have) start selling watches for £500-1000, the finishes will be hard to compare and argue the price differences. I mean theres already $200 chinese watches that have finishes close to Rolex even under magnification. If they start slapping swiss movements in (some already have) I don't think you can argue "just buy a Rolex" anymore. I recon in the next 5 years unless these Swiss brands really get their innovation together there will be little real reason to buy their watches, other than for the luxury and status. Because functionally you can already buy Chinese watches that are as reliable as Swiss ones, because they're literally swiss inside.
Great video... thank you! I recommend comparing the skeletonized AP with a skeletonized Piaget Polo. It will be hard to justify the huge premium the AP commands!

You just have to put something important in your mind that the big watch brands are not everything ,
Some small watch brands when they did a watch that looks 80% or 90% like a big watch brand that dose not mean that its a copy of there design ! because this is the trend .

the skeleton is definetely my grail watch just got my first AP 26331 st panda been loving, may I ask u i put protection film on but they cant put it on the inside buckler and i got some minor scratch is it normal?

Decent Chinese watch. Making an impression for £100. AP remains far superior and certainly should be £2000. Good joke these guys charge 50 times more than that. They should even try to add a zero to the pricetag...

O valor de £100 não justifica o relógio chinês, talvez £60 fosse o suficiente. Por outro lado o valor de £100,000 também não justifica pagar pelo AP que está muito distante do que realmente vale. O AP não devia valer mais do que £9,000.

Clearest comparison between a luxury Swiss piece and a Chinese knockoff/cheap brand I've ever seen. Thank you. Design, finishing, labour, exclusivity etc. definitely are different between the two. That said, Swiss watches still cost a lot of money. It's also a question of whether or not you'd find value paying the price of a car for all of those features.
I didnt expect to see this. Let the others do this. Dont go that route.

The AP is the kind of watch you look at to see what time it is, you can't find the hands, you get distracted by the movement and you end up not knowing the time.
You did an awful job introducing that Chinese watch by simply trashing it. When I hear of the number of years of wait list you had to wait to get this, it’s AP and the awful Swiss watch industry and its elitism that I want to trash.
I get the message you wanted to share with this video but you failed the execution. Let people enjoy a 100£ watch and even pass them down to their children (yes those can last). Realize how privileged you are to afford this Royal Oak.

@@christospapadopoulos6360 I’ll correct myself, not all Swiss watchmakers fall into the same basket, but the top manufactures that LWC takes as an exemple are completely out of touch with watch enthusiasts. They disregard innovation and play the exclusivity and scarcity game. Rolex, AP and Patek’s waitlists only benefits the brand image and turnover.
They don’t care about customer experience and relationship, as proven when you want to visit a boutique to purchase a watch and are judged and asked to leave by the salesmen. On the other hand, enter a A.Lange and Sohne or Grand Seiko boutique and you are greeted very well. When I was 16 years old, and definitely not a prospect, I visited a Lange boutique and they let me try on a 90k€ Datograph. Had the same great experience with MB&F, which gives me hope about the future of Swiss watchmaking.

The chinese watch on the other hand looks amateurish and tasteless. They dont even bother try. Just simply copy and paste. Just like all the fake mc donalds and statbucks in china.

As for your last point, for $100 the Chinese watch has clearly more R&D behind its design than any new iteration of the Submariner.
I prefer the Chinese watch because simply it’s the watch I can afford !

I don’t like the fact you mentioned AP and Patek in the same sentence with Rolex.
You’re Rolex has much more in common with the Chinese watch than the AP as they are mass produced watches with no hand finish on the movement or dial.
AP , Patek’s and Vacheron are a completely different story, as they are works of art.

You need to compare the replica Artisan De Genève Pirlo with a clone 3130. The inside is beveled like the gen.
Honestly speaking I do not get the point of this video. How can you even compare the two? They are clearly meant for different audiences. I'm pretty sure there are people in the world that find the AP skeleton extremely overpriced. The fact that you have to wait years to attain one and spend a fortune over a watch that makes it super difficult to read the time. I love your channel and your passion for watches but I just felt that this video was pointless. And no matter how much you defend AP it is pretty clear that their watches are extremely overpriced because of the fact that people are ready to pay for them. Not everyone in need of a watch is going to chase one for years.
It’s simply an objective comparison between an expensive skeleton and a cheap one. There’s no politics behind it what so ever.
Gram for gram Chinese Skeleton comes out on top - come on £100 is good value for money - AP quality wise excellent but only 100 or so pieces no wonder these type of watches sell way above retail or almost impossible to get hold of one.

Chinese now make replica of the ap it's 99% the same, chinese say they don't polish by hand because it will add 2000$ to every watch but they can do it.
