I think you could make the argument it was (though that'd only be 1 game better than last year...). But if you get to this point and then fall off a cliff, all of a sudden the season stops looking like progress and more like smoke and mirriors combined with a laughably easy schedule. It's a bummer, hope they pull it out next week, otherwise woof.
@HT-jj5sx I don't get why people say the schedule is easy? If it was easy they would have won every game! Also this year was a rebuild year and to see if Bo was the guy the playoffs was a pipe dream. The team is still short on talent but it is trending in the right direction
@ they had a 91% chance to make the playoffs two games ago, not a pipe dream at all. Overall their schedule was around 30th most difficult when looking at teams winning percentage.
@ at the start of the season they had a 0.8% chance to make the playoffs! Is was a pipe dream. Looking at the standings we haven’t played the bottom 4 worst teams and of the 13 teams eliminated from the playoffs we only played 4 of them. So the schedule wasn’t easy!!
Yeah...hadn't forced a punt and Cincy had like 28 first downs in regulation. I think every Cincy drive in regulation made it inside Den 25 yrd line. Just asinine to think they were gonna go 10min without Cincy ending up in FG range to force a tie. Way easier to just get 2 yds to win it.
We could be Pittsburgh right now!!!! Just lost to a better team on the road. The Broncos will be fine next year and a playoff appearance this year is all gravy. This team overachieved w no offensive weapons and no money
Still a positive season no matter what happens. Broncos need to develop Nix and get some more difference makers for the offense. Safety and LB must be improved on defense. They will soon have more money to spend and all of their draft picks. The future is bright.
After an amazing catch by Mims, why not go for 2 for the win?? We had the momentum n Cincy’s D is really bad. Bo wanted to go for 2 and you’re thinking about a tie?? Play to win not play not to lose. Sean’s play calling and decision making has been sus this yr and last season. Whatever trust I had in Sean is wavering now. Back to back disappointing losses….
Agreed. I can't fathom how head coaches in the NFL make such mind boggling decisions. Same goes for Zac Taylor in this game not kneeling 3 times to kick a FG to end regulaion...then he goes and gets his RB injured trying not to score and inbthe process essentially gives Den another timeout. Den hadn't forced a punt and Cincy had like 28 first downs in regulation. I think every Cincy drive in regulation made it inside Den 25 yrd line. Just asinine to think they were gonna go 10min without Cincy ending up in FG range to force a tie. Way easier to just get 2 yds to win it.
You have a weak soul. Good thing you aren't playing on this team. You would create the toxic whiney mentality that kills teams. A weak soul leads to weak living. Bummer for you.
Denver's defense was never dominant, it was timely; this defensive roster lacks individual talent and thus relies on collective execution to force stops, turnovers, etc. and occasionally relies on the errors of their opposition i.e. Winston, Colts trick plays, Jonathan Taylor, Minshew x2, recently benched Kirk, etc. I can see a Den vs Buff wildcard game go similarly to the Baltimore game earlier in November.
Reminding myself, by the minute, that we have a winning season no matter what, exceeding all expectations. Then the missed opportunities rear their ugly heads. Sean has cost the Broncos a couple of games with his play calling. The series after the missed FG was pathetic.
No run game and Sean Payton’s calling screen plays hurt us a ton as well. He’s thinking like a Fox TV Analyst playing conservative instead of being what he was in New Orleans plain and simple. I hope the fans and media drill both Sean and VJ for having a ton of time to prepare but looking like a lost heard going off a cliff. I mean come on Broncos you can’t let us fans have anything nice whatsoever get your 💩 together man.
We are 1 and done in the playoffs anyways and should be, fans need to be realistic and honest. A rookie QB and the cap hit we took this year a winning season is a miracle. I don't mind the fans being ungrateful but the stupidity of 2nd guessing everything and bad mouthing the people who got us this far is over the top. Broncos fans were a class act not anymore.
The Broncos broke two franchise records this season...........The rookie QB TD record, from 1968 and the season sack record, from 1984........Plus, possibly having the best season since 2015.
Bad loss.. we missed many opportunities to win this game but we’ll learn from it hopefully. I can confidently say that we will win next week and secure our playoff spot. Now do we get pulverized in the first playoff game? I can confidently say YES WE DO. But that’s ok because we’ve come a long way. First playoff appearance since 2015 right? I’ll take it
By no means are we a lock to win next week. I still can’t believe Sean didn’t go for 2 knowing we hadn’t forced a punt to that point all game long. I can’t imagine the disappointment if we miss these playoffs in the throwback Unis
After our last 3, 4 games...not sure how anyone can feel confident in us beating KC to get into the playoffs? Arguably, the toughest team in the league to beat. I can definitely say confidently, I don't think it will happen 😅
If a tie gets you in THEN WHY IN THE HELL ARE THEY CALLING TIME OUTS!! LET THE FREAKING CLOCK RUN OUT. YOU DO NOT DTOP THE CLOCK. Sean Payton is horrible at clock management
The Broncos need to start playing like they already won this season because they did, no one expected them to get more than 5 wins with a rookie qb and they have already outdone that, so yea they should have most definitely gone for the 2
Hindsight is 20/20. I never like second guessing decisions like that. Going for OT os perfectly reasonable. Had it worked out, there would be no criticism at all.
Percentages give you a better chance to win by going for two there. And that is independent of how badly the defense was playing at that moment. If they'd gone for two and lost you would have watched a video of me saying they made the right call.
They won’t make the playoffs and they shouldn’t, they haven’t been a decent team all year. They need to stock pile players in the draft and making the playoffs will only push them further down the draft board.
Just terrible. This vaunted D has given up hundreds of yards these last few games which has wasted how well Bo has played. Sure he's made mistakes but the D has let this team down consistently.
@@FrankM-u1w if it's the 2 minute offense that we are seeing at the end of games, let's just use those plays going forward, simple. uptempo, no huddle, hurry up, and shorter play calls going into the dam huddle! enough with the cute high school screen plays, they just don't work, not at this time. AND STOP WITH THE DAM SUBSTITUTIONS! These are professional athletes. They should all be cross trained on all parts of the offense. ok, enough with the venting. I still believe that we can do this, LFG, Go Broncos!!
@@MarioAgustin-m8x no its not just the 2 minute rush, usually out of half time Sean Peyton looks like he drew up a few wrinkles for his offense after studying what the defense actually wants to stop on his team. That usually happens a couple times in the 2nd half of his games even under Brees running the offense in NO, Sean Peyton adjusts.
@@FrankM-u1w what get's me is he doesn't stick to what works and deviates away from it, why? also, he's so stubborn that we have players on our practice squad that he can bring up to help the team out. we lack explosiveness on offense and the long developing plays that he calls out just adds to the pressure he puts on his qb. Bo can get the ball out quick, it's the playcalling.
It feels like getting a winning season was the goal

I dont care if we make the playoffs, we have a 9 win season guaranteeing us a winning season. Thats with $70m in dead cap not on the field.
I'm just happy they are in the mix again .good enuff for me considering this was a rebuilding season. They past expectations.
We dont deserve be in playoff we blow it twice three time your out no playoff for me draft and feel pain and get better

zach allen had a hell of a game though. the silver lining of the defense
The Bengals are a good team and we hung with them and could have won. We do need a running back.
And they said Bo couldn't throw deep. Bull.

They’re in trouble because they have a control freak calling the offense. The play calling is almost anti-success.

As a Chiefs fan I don’t want Joe Burrow in my playoffs. Josh and Lamar is plenty thank you. Letting you guys win next week is the right thing to do.
Don't do us any favors
Would you rather Buffalo have to battle Burrow instead of Nix though?
I didn't get to watch the game, but it sounds like the defense was terrible, which it has been for a few weeks.

Does KC prefer to beat Denver to send Joe Burrow to Buffalo instead of rookie Nix?

Hard not to do during a colossal collapse

Bo hasn't played well!
I was for the 2 points
Polymarket still has them at 69 pct to make playoffs
Payton is a bad game day coach.
I actually feel like he is better in the 2nd half than first half, which shows adjustments in game or during halftime.
