Nice one Gil. It’s good that you showed the hiccups along the way. Most people would edit these out during the post production process. Thanks for sharing 👍

Thanks A! If we all had the answers for everything we do, life would not allow you to learn!
Hopefully showing hiccups will empower more people to try, fail and learn. Its all part of being a Maker!

In the intro where the ship blasted off and the audio out of sync it was just like the good ole days of Japanese monster movies lol! Thank you for you video

The audio was out of sync! Darn it. Lucky it was a throwback to those Japanese monster movies we love so much. Let me know if you want more laser project videos like this one :)

Anyone that's used even entry level CAD software will be completely frustrated trying to use this POS lightburn program.

Hi Gil. Another excellent video and very well explained work flow. It looks like Lightburn is a good low cost option for producing vectors that are used for a CNC process. Way cheaper than the commercial alternatives. Loved the “Thunderbirds” theme. I watched that show all the time when I was younger. Keep making Gil, I enjoy watching you in the shop mate. Cheers 🍻.

Awesome video! Definitely learned a few tricks from it. My brain was screaming when you were lining up the bottom of the tool layers tho. You could save a few seconds by using the “Align bottom” feature on the “Align selected objects horizontally” button.

Thanks for the tip Martin! My journey is in motion and I have learned a lot since this video. One of the things I love about Lasers is that there are a number of ways to get the same result.
What do you create with your laser?

took me 3 minutes to create the exact same shape as that in 2D design.

Well there are better ways to do the things you were trying to accomplish, with a little more time in the software I’m sure you’ll figure them out. Overall though it’s a good video and it’s probably the type of stuff new users run into.

Thanks Jeremy. We all learn different things at different times. This is a new process for me and wanted to share how I got to the results I was able to create.

what an absolute faff Lightburn is. Why o why cant someone create a piece of software like 2d design that works on all laser cutters. 2D is absolutely fantastic for laser cutter, seems Lightburn is being complicated for complicated sake.
