Ah so they listened to feedback!
The 1st example immediatelly gives me the mood of early psy trance of mid 90s! Very cool!

If somehow they also made it possible to route PWM to an envelope, that would be awesome :)
Phantastic! 2 weeks are gone and a few wishes are fulfilled already! 💓The Snap now!
Nice black Arturia Keystep, wish the 37 was available in black too
Just got this synth today.. what a fun piece of kit it is! I just found out that it actually has LFO delay for it's main assignable LFO, and even a second LFO dedicated to vibrato (pitch) which you can set the depth and the speed of. Those are things the P5/10 doesn't have but it would be awesome if it did! Anyway on we go digging into this thing :)
great video, thank you
Tomorrow i will do this update to my Pro800. It's a fantastic sinthesizer
Thanks. Back on the radar to rack with a Pro-1.
Mine is en route. Monday will be a fun day if all works well.
mine too ! cant wait
Nice, mine should arrive within a couple of days.
where'd you order it?
@@skunkman777 thomann
@@skunkman777 Thomann. If you're in Europe you can order it with payment on delivery so you don't get your money stuck.
Got it today. It's better than I expected. I usually buy gear at least one year past launch. This one is an exception because of the polyphony. I hope they add new features to the firmware over time, but it does the job already and for the money it's unbelievable.
Good info and comparisons, thank you!
AHA you did it already.,... superb
❤🔥Oh happy Day...
Too bad that you need a mac with M1-chip for updates. There is a wndows version of synthtribe but updates don't work with it. You always get a "cloud maintenance"-message. The problem is known and unsolved for a year or so, see Internet. Does anybody know a workaround?
You should contact the support. Sounds like a bug in Synthtribe
No problem here with Win10.
I tried with win11.
But someone else runs into the same issue with Win 10. I can't post the link for any technical reason.
Works fine for me with Win11
Shame they can't get the firmware sorted prior to release. Shit sticks and first impressions count
I'm sure folks will likely forget in time. Heck, mine hasn't even arrived, so I'll absolutely be updating the firmware immediately when it arrives aha
Behringer phoned it in with this one
@@V-Pee certainly gonna get a lot of use out of it myself aha
How have you hooked up the Pro-800 with your mid-keyboard? all over USB-Midi? The PRO-800 comes only with a USB-B port on the back. So I guess you need a USB-B to USB-B connector to hook it up with your Arturia keystep?
I have a keystep Pro and the PRO-800 - and I am not able to play midi via USB. Currently I have hooked both MIDI keyboard and the PRO800 up via a USB-HUB which I am running along side a MPC one. Midi to midi does work fine, but without it noway. IS there some LED or diode on the PRO800 that lights up when a midi signal is received?
Any help is much appreciated. BTW.
you need a host
Am I wrong in thinking that the Pro 800 has a more diverse sound palette than the Model D? The videos I've watched seem to indicate this, but perhaps I'm wrong.
More diverse, I would say no. Different for sure.
@@tomnoise23 May I ask how they differ sonically & in terms of application? I'm trying to decide between the two & would love to get the purchase right the first time.
@@sensorycircuits1338 To be honest It's hard to put in words. The sound is just different and differences in general are so big. These are just a few examples:
- Model D is a monophonic synth with 3 Oscillators (but 1 voice only which means one note at a time) whereas the P800 is a polyphonic 8 Voice synth with 2 Oscillators per Voice.
- The Model D has it's own distinct sound character, so has the P-800.
- P800 can store and recall 400 Presets. The Model D doesn't have any storage.
- P 800 can send and receive midi control changes from the surface controls. Model D can't.
-P800 can hold and play 2 Sequences and has an Arpeggiator. Model D doesn't have this.
... and so on and so forth.
You need to decide which points are important for you and for your music. Do you want to play chords, Pads, Brass etc. or is it more leads, effect sounds, basslines?
@@tomnoise23 Love the bang for buck with the P-800. My main concern would be whether I can get a fat bassline from it. How does it stand up in this regard?
@@sensorycircuits1338 in my opinion it’s great for bass but different from a Model D. I can’t directly compare cause I‘ve returned the P800 after 3 weeks.
Great companion! Does it has the presets?
cool
Did they also fix the envelope release? It would be great to hear a pad or solo line with a long release to hear if smooth decays are possible.
The release was not an issue as the Gligli mods were included. If you choose one of the exponential modes it will fade out smoothly.
Ah...for some reason I thought release was an issue with the Gigli envelopes as well. Good to know!
I noticed that the settings for „Soft Thru“ are not stored. Every time after switching the Pro 800 off and on again the setting for „Soft Thru“ is set to ‚On‘… 😔
That’s interesting 🧐 mine seems to keep the setting stable so far.
@@tomnoise23 Hmm.... I think, I will ask Behringer support.
@@tomnoise23 Maybe I do anything wrong...
I change the "Soft Thru" to 'Off' and leave settings by pressing the button 'Settings' and it works fine until I switch the synthesizer off. Do I have to do another step to save the setting?
@@klausludwig9585 i didn‘t do anything special. I was just setting it to off and started tweaking.
@@klausludwig9585 Hold on - now i can reproduce it on my unit. I can confirm it behaves the same on my end. No idea what happened, it used to work correctly with 1.2.6 before. Seems to be a bug, i will report it as well.
Hiya there, thanks for the nice video. I had a quick look around but could not clarify…..Is there one filter per voice, or is it all voices routed through the same filter?
It’s fully polyphonic. 8 Voices, 8 Filters.
Thanks! I’m in!
Could you compare it with DM12 if you have it? I want to hear how much do I miss )
We have sanctions so I don't think that it will be available earlier for me than in the next year.
I don‘t have a Deepmind 12…
Does it actually work though? Have the stuff I buy of them I have to return.
There are still some little issues with the firmware but nothing serious for me. In general it works fine and I can work with it. Maybe you can check it out in a store before buying one to make sure that it’s fine for you.
nice shame they didn’t include both types
What types do you mean? There are 4 envelope shapes. If you want to have slower times you can set them with the knobs. Before it was impossible to make shorter times.
How you conect your pro800 to your midi controler?
Keystep USB>Computer>DAW>Pro800 USB
whats the website to update it ???
The firmware can be updated using the Synthtribe application, which can be found on the Behringer website for the Pro-800.
The irony here is that my unit bricked itself trying to update the firmware 🤦🏻♂️
Damn. I would ask the Behringer Support to send a SysEx firmware file to bring it back to life.
@@tomnoise23 I finally got the update to work. The envelopes greatly improve the synth, but I’m still returning it because it’s still buggy and the overall tone is kinda meh… guess I’ll keep saving for the real deal…
