- I finally went to my first drift event after wanting to for 4 years! It was so overwhelming being at my first event and trying to record it all but i'll get better at it eventually!

this sound of rear subframe knock when doing a clutchkick is hillarious
Right? It's like its laughing at him. Love seeing him have fun with it doe lol
I feel like he shouldn't need to clutch kick as much as he is, but I've never drifted so what do it know
@@ChasePhilport i have a e46 drift wagon as well and the m52tu engine just doesnt make enough torque down low to not kick, so he has to get used to the balance of the revs up high and gain confidence😁
or a diff lol
Remove the rear sway bar. Someone told me to do that after my first couple events and I immediately started linking the track. It stops the random snap spin-out. Also make sure your front doesn't rub AT ALL during full lock cause that will slow you down and make you spin too
After you said this in your vid I did the same thing on my car, big improvement thanks bro
Excuse me sir I need an upload out of you so you don’t have time to be commenting
@@cameronbrown7910 Lamborghini Evo review 6pm today lol. Tried to film an e36 video last week but didn't go as planned so that's why there's a gap lol
@@itsBlack okay I can get down with that my boosted e46 is being a diva so I have time to binge watch UA-cam and unfortunately you are in my top 3 list of go to content creators
@@cameronbrown7910 preciate it man!
Gotta love a early high & early upload from Joel himself 🙌🏽
bro you was high when you posted dis
@@rhowe154 lol for sure
i’m still not fully dry from standing in the rain all day
i can’t believe i bought you an umbrella just for you to hold it and not use it
@@ImJoel nobody’s perfect
Brick boy
He owes you big time. Some sneakers will suffice I guess.
Oh shit its lil broomstick
if you get that subframe reinforced it’ll make the chassis feel a whole lot tighter and probably get rid of most of those clunks
I love the positive attitude you have regarding everything. You have to keep that vibe if you wanna continue drifting. Continue seat time and everything will come naturally. You will know what mod to put next as you become better since you will start feeling your car and know what you need to put in next. But one trick is to try and use as less as possible your e-brake and clutch kicks at the beginning. Try and make one with the car and use speed and weight transfer (i know its hard not to clutch kick since you have that low power, i also drift a Bmw). Just know the car and the physics before you use all those e-brakes and angle kits and power mods. It's not about mods and speed, it's about driving! Keep it up ;)
why did he keep spinning out? Im a newbie as well
Love that you're one of the few guys I've found on UA-cam trying to drift an e46 wagon.
I'm working on stuffing a k24 into mine, can't wait to slide her like you!
i love how honest u are in your videos makes the content wayy better good prgress cant wait to see more
Install a exhaust cut out valve and another section out the back, that way you can run your stock exhaust on the street and flick a switch at the track, then run straight pipe
Why am I laughing and cheering when he nails these lines😂 I love it super inspirational man 🤙
8:46 gotta keep the vibes high after a shakey start. This part had my so motivated. Cheers Joel
Dude.. absolutely LOVED this!!! Looking steezy out there bro ;)
Ayee got me hyped to get started with drifting too 💪🏻
The wagon looks so good drifting though
more drifting videos! im so happy for u! love this video, i hope u will do good in drift in future!
Unplug the traction control fuse or somethingg
I’ve been watching for a bit, great content bro! Love from NZ my guy
loving all these videos lately
One thing I remember reading is that the oil pump nut likes to back off the oil pump. The m52/54/56 engine platform, I don’t remember which engine but this high rpm revs that drifting does causes the nut to back off. If you see a red oil light that means low oil pressure and to shut it down.
And make sure to not do the safety wire without doing a tensioner on the chain as you’ll just break your oil pump shaft. The oil pump nut comes off because the slack in the chain causes an impacting effect, but safety wiring it just tosses the problem down the road to the oil pump shaft.
Just a tip, for your traction control to be properly off press it and press and hold again for like 10 secs to have traction controle fully off. Also, clutchkicking in the rain is overpowering. Try to steer corners instead of fully steering with throttle, you dont get enough angle for the amount of speed you want to carry thrue your drift
I have long awaited this
Power steering cap has a little vent hole. Condor speed shop which is where I recommend you getting bushings! Has a sweat band for it!
Omg I’m so hyped 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
i also have a 5 speed e46 drift wagon, basically identical setup, i run square 225 35 17"s and air them up to 45psi in the rear, 30psi in front and it works great, hella predictable, back wont over-swing the front as easily
love the videos man!
Love these vids bro keep em coming
Awesome content in this video bro. The wagon is super sick
When i was first teaching myself to drift in the rain, i learned that you can kind of gas it and just do some light steering. kind of depends on you though.
its like watching chrisfix’s first event :)
Yup was finna say camshaft sensor for sure , should do the timing belt too and the crank the same time
This was so funny cannot explain had me rolling
This video made my day
0 dislikes that’s what I like to see! Great videos man
dude i love ur video fire !
You killed it man, very inspirational and I know your journey forward is gonna be great to watch and learn from
time for differential bushings.... enjoy the install ;)
Its easy but takes forever
Your consistency with the uploads is amazing forreal 🙌
joel, leave the rear bump off and paint the under bits matt black. and paint in white paint "DRFT WHRE" wago looks super lit with no rear bump on. super rad
The random clips of Joel vibing were golden
Good job man!
Boy jammin to bad bunny, what a g
Just came across your channel, just built a 330 wagon (touring) myself on our channel. They are such a cool car
You talking about exhaust being stock is the problem, we have a saying in Poland. If you can't drift, then it's probably steering wheel to pedals connector which is broken :D But yea, not easy to feel that e46 wagon, I had e36 compact and it's much easier on transition than e46. One thing that changes a lot is good seat position, it's like night and day when drifting, second making sure tires are at right psi, 40-50 is like for 316i in rain, I was even going as low as 25psi, so I can have a little of that grip to prevent spinouts. Anyway keep up the good work :)
Love the vids, if u havent try to take the fuse for the abs, might help with response and can give u more power for drifting!
The wagoon is looking so 🔥 sliding. Cant wait to see the car as you progress
Such a good time in the rain!
The Clutch: Okeey lets goooo
LETSGOOOO NEW VIDEO THAT MEANS IT IS TODAY A GOOD DAY!
I love your videooos🔥
Best Driver 🎉
You're funny! Keep it up you get there.
Can’t wait to go to my firs drift event and learn 😃 I own a golf mk4 now. I need to save for a bmw
It always brightens my day when I see another video from Joel.
Nice profile pic. So similar!
@@OTBspeed6 Thank you! I drew it myself :D I like yours as well.

U did good bro like the vids
I was in front of you at tech! Nice wagon man
yo dont sweat it,drifting in the rain is double xp bro
“First thing first gotta take my earnings out”🤣
haha my guy was hyped the car fixed itself 8:42
I wonder if your winter tires would offer more grip in the rain?
ImJoel is a genuine fella
He posted 😈😈😈
Early gang I guess, good video as always!
GOOD SHIT JOEL!
nice E46 Wagon man.
Such a Good video
Joel. Iwatched a noriyaro video where he was drifting a Toyota wagon in the rain. He said the wagons like to kick the rear out. It’s not like a coupes weight ratio. I can see you whipping a wagon tho
I think a pedal cam would be a good addition to the drift videos
what measurment are you rear set up ? gone be installing the same on my and love the way yours look
You have to take into consideration lift off overstear.. you need to be on gas all the time or the backend will definitely overstear.
Goodjob though for being your first time 👌👍
When you feel your about to spin out drop the gas a bit and not fullied just a little gas and u will keep the drift and get control of it trust me try it!
Ik your new to drifting, but you gotta prep your car for an event like this. Your subframe sounds highkey fucked when you clutch kick and having a random crank sensor failure just means you should be doing more maintenance on your car. Having a well setup car will get you alot more solid seat time. Wish you the best tho!
35 psi in the wet and you shouldn't be on that throttle that hard . When your starting going sideways you should give it less gas and if its easier try starting your drift with the handbrake, that helps a lot, i use it and its great 👍😁btw that was great first time drifting ! good look on the next drift day!!
Yesssss😂!!!!
unplug the left rear speed sensor to remove traction control completely, front ones are for vehicle speed
I thought it was rear right sensor
@@frankielarrosa gonna be either side but there is only one per axle, 2 total, 1 front and one rear sensor
Definitely improved throughout the video bro
Lets goooo 🔥🇩🇴
Check Spark plugs bro!
You Soak the sensors with power steering fluid
Ended the day smiling 💪🏾 ready for the next one!!
I was always told to never let go of the wheel to keep my hands on it as much as possible
in wet i would lower psi until its grippy enough just adjust it if too grippy raise if not grippy enough lower
id say use your brake to make the weight of the car move on the front wheels when u turn
Bro i dont know how long or how much work you want to put in the car but i would strip the whole interior for wheight saving and you would hear the engine much better. Nice Vid
Look's like fun 👍
*The cop who pulled you over watching you at drift events now*
👁👄👁
I'm drifting with e46 328, for r16 205 on the dry i set ~ 26psi, in these wet conditions i would go ~20psi or even lower
the thumbnail was super fly
What type of Car diagnosis module are you using with your iphone ? because almost none work with my E46 and ios
17:40 SOMEONE NEEDS SOME MILK 🤣
Keep your style man! Dont get inspired by some other guy too much that it changes who you are!
Let's goo man
should the drivetrain really bang that much when you clutch kick?
Bro due to the reason it gives codes for both crank and cam sensor, it would suggest there is something wrong with the timing or the timing chain of the engine. How many miles/km does your engine have? It is common to see timing chain getting start to get stretched around 350 000-400 000+km on m5x engines. Or maybe the chain tensioner or chain guide has wear. But this is just my worst case scenario diagnosis. I had to replace a crank sensor on my winter beater m52, but after taking the old one out i realised it was just covered in oily grime and dirt. Just giving it a good clean would have saved some money :D Maybe check that first?
think about it that is a tired wagon you have to throw a lot of angle at it did you d any angle mods?
I think you need to air down in the front to at least 25psi. We air down to 25psi even in the dry.
As the video progressed, I started to clap and say YESS when you completed a turn! GOOD STUFF
Dog if you need any help with the rear end job lmk I did it all by myself when I was 16 it can be very frustrating
take the fuse out for DSC when drifting! you wont need to do that anymore....then when your done just put it back in....
cant believe how hard it looks without the bumper 🤣
The Wagon dude does it again can’t wait to see where this build goes
Litterly my mustang is having this issue on idle and i need to give it GAS to get out of my drive way or else I stall lol
