After wading through a half-dozen or more Zoom tutorials for beginners, this one is the BEST! Most of these tutorials are explained too rapidly -- no chance to take notes or process what's on the page. The "teacher" from Creative Life Center speaks slowly, calmly, clearly. The younger "guides" want to be "with it" dynamic, cutesy, or super techie. They speed through the process -- not good for newcomers. Very few people are skilled teachers, but this lady definitely is!! And that's what counts here!
You're very welcome! Thank you for the kind words! I recently updated this video to show Zoom control and safety changes. The updated version is here: ua-cam.com/video/4QyiUAcE2MU/v-deo.html
THE MOST COMPREHENSIBLE Zoom Tutorial I have ever seen!! Much better than the ones on the Zoom site. Perfect pace, clear and precise instructions. Excellent use of the screens. You made it as easy as it can be. Coming across the answers you gave to every post, it's amazing your ability to teach in just enough words, so peaceful and patient. Besides, you look great! Wish every tutorial on the internet had this clarity. We could get rid of millions of training videos and would need but one for each new app/gagget. Thank you soooo much!!
@@winsukun09 While it is possible to share videos, it doesn't work very well. Both the host and the participants need to have very strong wifi. In most situations, the video is either very choppy or the sound is out of synch with the image.

I came here because I was getting very bogged down in technical detail with another Zoom instruction video, and I'm sure glad I did. Thank you for your plain speaking, cut and dried tutorial! Understood it all and now very eager to host my first Zoom session with my ESL student!
Glad it was helpful! I'm not sure what your ESL student's native language is. If it is helpful, my Joining a Zoom call for the 1st Time has Spanish subtitles available.
These are so good I just have to comment. I have been asked to convene a zoom meeting of 12 participants and while I have been a participant before I have never hosted. I was concerned too because I thought I couldn't practice until the meeting and this would be nerve wrecking. Now my anxiety has completely decreased and I just want to say thank you.
Thank you for doing this video, I enjoyed it and it was just the right way I needed to go through these zoom basics. I am the president of a smallish group of mostly women. We are a weavers' Guild, and have met monthly together to explore technique and have speakers at each meeting- in person, until the Stay home order of our state officials. I have been put incharge of setting up these once in-person meetings to go zoom. Being of a certain age, I have found that the tutorials Ive watched by the 20+ people, young people involved in podcasts and companies, have been confusing, and most talk way too fast on why you would want to click here of there, on your set up on your zoom screen. Im so glad I found YOUR video, it was straight forward and perfact for me to get a meeting going as the host. Thank you , its been perfect for the instruction I needed, and how it was presented. Thank you, again.

Thank you for this video on Hosting and the other one on Joining. I have been looking at a lot of the videos available and yours are by far the best for the average newcomer to Zoom. Clearly stated, properly paced, excellent use of the screens when on Zoom. I understand that you can do a Share Screen, but I am not clear on how you "upload" an image, power point, Word document or PDF to the Share Screen Page so you can click and share it with the participants. I will likely have questions once I understand that part, but I will just try to ask one question at a time. Many thanks

When you share your screen the window showing participants changes. You do have control a bit using the icons along the top of that window. You can choose to minimize it, see a strip of people or a larger matrix of people.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! You do a wonderful job of truly step-by-step instruction that is calm, clear and reassuring. It is slow enough for a new person to "get" what you are talking about, but it is not tedious. Many of the other tutorial videos assume you already are a bit familiar with the features and do not do as good a job of instructing newbies, or just go too fast. Great instrutonal video! Great job!

Thank you. Glad it was helpful!
Both videos on Hosting and Joining are excellent. So helpful and I have to say, better than what I have been able to find on the Zoom site. Your's is very comprehensive and easy to understand. All done!
Thank you! Have fun Zooming!
Thank for easy, easy instructions on how to use Zoom. Just what a I needed to add to the meeting invitation for our first time users.
You're very welcome!
Thank you. Much more helpful than the people who whizz through telling you how easy it is and how much you can do.
I hope you have fun with Zoom!
Thanks so much, this is just what I needed, presented at the pace I could understand!
You're very welcome!

Thank you for explaining these beginnings steps in a slow and clear manner! I'm getting the hang of it now.
Glad it was helpful!
Wowwwww, you’re a life saver. I am hosting my first Zoom meeting tomorrow. I’ll definitely let you know how I did. I am a social worker for the state and need to see my clients via video conferencing. I was using Face time and Webex but wanted to learn on Zoom.
I hope you enjoy using Zoom and that it goes really well. I recently posted an updated version of this video showing control and safety changes that Zoom made. You can see the updated video here: ua-cam.com/video/4QyiUAcE2MU/v-deo.html
Finally! A video on Zoom that is understandable. Thank you
Glad it was helpful! :-)
Excellent! Clearly organized for ease of understanding. I appreciated your thoroughness, tempo of diction helped tremendously because of my hearing impairment. I'll recommend your video to friends.
Thank you! :-)
Just watched the two videos about hosting and joining for the first time. A great introduction you made with these. Very clear. Thank you very much.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Marcial, thank you for the video, well simplified
You are welcome!
Thanks so much, I have to host a zoom mtg once or twice a week, & I felt very uneasy about it. As others said you give such a refreshing explanation for novices to follow and benefit from. Well done.
Glad it was helpful!
That was totally awesome! This is the perfect 'Getting Started' tutorial. Why anybody would give this a thumbs down I will never understand. I guess haters just gotta hate.
I'm glad you liked the video! Reading this comment was a good way to start my day. :-)
Your video really taught me a lot about how to host a zoom meeting in a very modest amount of time. Thanks so much! I will keep an eye out for anything else you put on here.
Do you have more questions about using Zoom? I'm gathering ideas for my next videos. :-)
I echo Milovan's comment. I tried a couple of other UA-cam videos and they came nowhere close to this one. I've used WebEx, and Lynx. It's always tough getting accustomed to new applications. You gave me a great start. I'm going to practice with a meeting tomorrow. Thanks
Good idea to do a practice meeting. Have you seen this later video that shows the latest safety controls? ua-cam.com/video/ZigV1X0b8cs/v-deo.html
