@ It's the rarity of the meteorite ( wich is 1 big rock in Namibië) combined with the R and D of the slightly new movement. The cheapest meteorite is probably the constellation meteorite, wich is around 10k without a complicated movement. The comparable Rolex models are mostly above 50k. On average, market wise it seems a good price.
@ ah ok 👍 The Rolex prices are more to do with the metal used in those particular models. The meteorite itself is not that expensive and it’s a very small part inside each watch. My view is pricing this above a 321 and above a current Snoopy doesn’t make sense to me. Snoopy has a fair few complications, some unique touches and a solid silver dial. The 321 has quite a bit of R&D and plenty of finishing/ build costs. It’s just an opinion 🤷♂️
I agree, the grey dial color with blue bezel contrast is pretty cool. Manual wind would take a bit of time to get used to. I’m ok with that. Price is pretty high though, but it is a meteorite dial with moon phase, so it’s going to be costly for sure.
Thanks for the video Rob. Great looking watches. I like the meteorite dial. Both are equal is looks, so I am not sure which one I would choose, maybe the Gray/blue. I like the sub-dials, especially the date sub-dial. However I see no reason for an open case back, it would have reduced the overall height of the watch, since all you can see is a bridge that covers 80%of the mechanism. The price is more than I would spend on it also. Overall I really like the new Speedmasters.
The meteorite dials are nice, but not 16k nice. The movement is technically great, but to look at has as much charm as an average chinese fridge. Openback to see one large disc is a letdown.
Damn! I so agree with you. I was thinking….am I the only one that thinks the open back display looks like shit? With just a big plate on it? Why cover it up? If they can make a watch that intricate, surely they could open up that plate a little. I would also prefer an automatic. I love the watch, but not 17k love it.
Very pretty, but not worth the price. Especially when you can get a vintage “REAL Moon Watch” with the 321 movement from the mid 1960s for less money. All the other watches are just remakes and re-image watches.
That was quick, well done!
Thank you!
Gorgeous watches.
These are so gorgeous! I really want a watch with a meteorite dial one day, but I think I'm sized out a bit with these two
Try them on first, and then decide!
@@RobtheAmerican true, dial sizes can be deceiving until tried on
Nothing cooler than a meteorite dial!
True! 😁
That looks really nice. Good price for a meteorite watch. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
@@chadechevalric686 Hi 👋🏼. As this is the opposite to my comment, I’m genuinely interested in your reasoning?

Worth trying on for sure!
You're the boy Rob, first past the post on all new releases 👏 Blue bezel is looking good. The movement to visually look at is nothing exciting 😮
Thanks for the continued support, Mark!
I want the grey dial🔥🔥🔥🔥
The grey IS good.

Everything you said is very reasonable! Try them on when you can and let me know what you think.
Would love one if it was alittle smaller and not so thick.
What's the lug width on this one? How did you find the legibility of the date function?
Via Fratellowatches and Monochrome Watches articles:
Diameter: 43.0mm
Height: 13.6mm
Lug-to-lug: 48.6mm
Lug width: 21.0mm
Fairly reasonable versus other complicated Speedmaster's.
Thanks for helping me out!
@@RobtheAmerican no probs! 😊⌚🌑
A manual-wind moon phase? Not sure that’s a good idea.
Blue version is the best imho
100%
Nice watches. But come on Omega, these are WAY overpriced for what they are.
Great looking Omega Rob, reminds me of the Bulova “Lunar Pilot” meteor dial.
...but a lot more expensive than the Bulova, I'm sure! 😄
@@RobtheAmerican and that's the thing. Meteorite dials are very very overpriced!
Congratulations on being one of the very first.
I’m a huge fan of these watches and Omega , but I do struggle here with the RRP 🤷♂️🫤
Your price concern is reasonable 100%

All reasonable comments.

I couldn't agree more! For half the price I might consider buying it, but for this price it's a hard pass
Its lovely - but that is a bit expensive...
The price has been THE big criticism in the comments section.
Its right what they say buy Rolex from an AD buy Omega from the used market they are starting to get away from the average buyer
It's a shame that.
18700 Euros in europe
Why damn manual wind on a bloody 16K watch 🤬 even the previous model is an automatic....
I hear that a lot!
terrible to have to turn the button every time. that's medieval. stop hand winding
Great watch! For this price i would go with other Omega models 🥹
I've heard that a lot!

Can't argue with that! Still like them, though. 🤷
Vastly overpriced, manual wind in this day and age😳
beautiful watches but that price is a non starter for me. I'm sure they will sell though as there is always a watch for every wrist.
Great price when you compare it to a Rolex.
I’ll get one on the grey market 😂 for lower price
Don't blame you!
For me 43mm is too big. Ideally I’d like 40mm. Pity Omega do not do a glide clasp like Rolex and Tudor.
Try it on...and then judge!
£16K?
You could buy haute horology for that, Overpriced and oversized. Expect big discounts in 12 months, Omega are having a laugh!
Metal Moonswatch mental price 🤦🏻♂️ WTF are you doing Omega ?
Expensive for sure, but they look good to me!
