You’re walking through the desert. Starving, thirsty, in absolute pain. You see smoke clouds and think “Finally civilization.” You approach the area only to find a whole mess of conveyors, storage tanks, and then you a crazed man shooting himself across the universe with these huge tubes.
What I love about the hypertube section of this video is the scientific progress. Josh does reproducible experiments to work out exactly how a system functions. We're actually seeing a man learning and gaining knowledge about his world. Knowledge that he will use for great evil.

Yeah I’m pretty familiar with this game and getting to the point he does while being as intentionally inefficient as possible you’re looking at probably like 80-100 hours of playtime edited down to 22 minutes. Turning that much footage into a cohesive and entertaining video with a linear narration is an absolute feat of focus and dedication and he deserves every single like and sub he gets.
He's like a villain in a movie that teaches about caring for enviroment. Edit: Apparently my comment caused a bit of confusion so I will explain what I said. If there was a movie that the main plot of would be caring for the eviroment, Josh would be the villain who is destroying it instead.
I recently got the game about 3 months ago. I've put in 13 hours over the past week. Every now and again I'll look at my factory and see how horrible it looks, and then sigh with satisfaction. and I'd straight up explain it to my friends if they ever saw it the same way Josh explains his "Yes it's a nightmare, but it's my nightmare. one of my fave videos by far, i laughed so much i was crying at the end😂 you forgot one experiment btw! what would happen if you put the tubes forming a circle and jumped in at a separation? would you just keep going and going? would you implode and destroy everything around you? or would you maybe travel into the next dimension? XD
you speed up, infinitely. I was very bored and made a small ( approximately within a 2x2 platform square) tube circle with two entrances facing each other. I ended up stuck inside, unable to leave regardless of the direction I went because of how close together the entrances were. if I just let my character circle through the tube, it got faster and faster and faster until the character was going so fast the camera couldn't follow it and just jittered in place. when my friend got back to base he deconstructed a tube section to let me out and I instantly left the map... I think. I couldn't open my map or anything to check, and when respawning there was no crate to collect

I only let my character speed up like that for about... four or five minutes, I think? before he got to base to try and let me out. if you get stuck like that I theorise that logging out and back in will get you out of the tube, if you have no-one to free you. or, as I thought of in hindsight, get a friend to deconstruct the entrances, not the tubes. that may theoretically let you exit without shooting you off god knows where. you'll want to slow down first though, which: I discovered in that tube that if you hold backwards (relative to the direction you are travelling, rather than where the camera is facing if I remember correctly ) you can actually slow down and come to a stop in a tube, although you still cannot exit. it can let you change directions mid-journey if you went in the tube by mistake though.

This man is a true scientist. He builds an experiment, tests it 3 times, conclude. Rinse and repeat until he has something repeatable. Then use his new found knowledge to further improve on the previous experiments. This video should be shown to all people who want to pursue R&D.

I imagine trying to make things like this while under the pressure of his legacy, must weigh heavily on him. I don't envy his fame. Sure the product is amazing and everyone loves the channel, but what about the human behind it all? Back when he had his sidekick I recognised it was just recordings of goofing off in games with a little editing to keep a nice tempo for the audience's benefit... but now? I worry what happens when the laughter stops. Four million subscribers is a lot to disappoint. I feel an urge to bring to guy a cup of tea and a biscuit, hear him out on the horrors of editing, maybe come by with a puppy or something. I dunno.

I imagine trying to make things like this while under the pressure of his legacy, must weigh heavily on him. I don't envy his fame. Sure the product is amazing and everyone loves the channel, but what about the human behind it all? Back when he had his sidekick I recognised it was just recordings of goofing off in games with a little editing to keep a nice tempo for the audience's benefit... but now? I worry what happens when the laughter stops. Four million subscribers is a lot to disappoint. I feel an urge to bring to guy a cup of tea and a biscuit, hear him out on the horrors of editing, maybe come by with a puppy or something. I dunno.
