- Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) questions Reverend Al Sharpton about past comments that are considered racially charged. Rep. Gaetz cited comments made by Joe Scarborough from several years ago, before Scarborough and Sharpton became MSNBC colleagues. The exchange became heated and several democrats called for points of order throughout. This came during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Oversight of Policing Practices. CONGRESS SHOULD BE ONLY TWO YEARS SERVING NO MORE
The state representatives serve 2 years, senators serve six. But if you want them out, the voters need to vote them out.
That's up to us to take the incumbents out in the primaries. If we don't register for the incumbent's party every year and vote against the incumbent to fire him in the primary election to give someone else a chance then we are to blame. On average on 10% of the electorate vote in primary elections. If incumbents are not voted out in the primary they have a near 100% chance of getting reelected with their Lobbyists master's money behind them.
Sounds good but it's a mistake. It leaves the lobbyists fully in charge because they would be the only ones who know what is going on.
