This was before pitch correction, and this was live. Unfortunately, Goeff Tate slowly lost his dynamic range as he got older, but he was a god when this was recorded in his prime.
@@riopato2009 In recent videos, he's hitting high notes again (not always super smoothly, but hitting them all the same) after not even attempting them for a long time. Whatever he's done to get much of his vocal power back, it has worked.
That’s real….❤😊 This guy is great at using his whole tool bag vocally ….phenomenally good live with all that noise from a live stage - that’s not easy at all. 👏✅😎🎶😎
This to me is the Greatest Progressive m Metal Band of all time... especially with this original lineup... Do more reaction videos of 🎼 QUEENSRYCHE 🎶....
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Geoff Tate had the best metal voice of the 80's. @Mugnify Reacts, you really need to listen to their concept album 'Operation: Mindcrime', the best concept album of the 80's.
Mug has done eyes of a stranger reaction a week ago but the whole album would be a difficult task, even if he did it on live stream. The concepts are kind of political and creepily prophetic considering this was made over 30 years ago which would most likely get his channel flagged.
Mugnify , Geoff along with Ann Wilson , Chris Cornell and Layne Staley were all students of Seattle vocal coach David "The Maestro" Kyle. He was known for his unique approach to vocal training , which included expanding vocal range and helping singers overcome psychological barriers.
He was not in fact, he did take a couple of leassons, many people on inet say that he had been trained by an opera coach but it was just a couple of lessons.
I love the expressions when people hear Geoff belt this one out 😂 Operation Mindcrime album (in order) is worth a go. My favorite song is Another Rainy Night off of the Empire album.
OG ryche was the GOAT! They were the breakout Metal group that really changed the genre for the positive and challenged experimental elements that still made it sound hard. Rage to Order and Queen of the Ryche are highly under rated albums that was overshadowed by their commercial success Operation Mind crime and Empire.
Geoff's aunt was an opera singer. He learned from her as well as being trained by Maestro David Kyle. Maestro Kyle was also the vocal coach for Chris Cornell (Soundgarden), Layne Staley (Alice In Chains), and Anne Wilson (Heart).
Tate was trained by one of the best vocal coaches in the business at the time can’t remember his name maestro is what comes to mind also from interviews Tate said before their first record the other band mates took some lessons with him. Also I’ve heard this was the next to the last song of the show that night amazing voice
When I was 12 me and a couple of friends went with one my friends older brothers to some church in the middle of nowhere in Bellevue where we got to watch them rehearsing in the basement just before they went into the studio to record this record. They sounded similar but nothing like they did on the album, but even back then you could tell they were going to be big someday. And man did they get big!
Just so you know, this was the last song of the concert. Yeh, he nailed those nots (4th and 5th octaves since you asked) after performing for almost 2 hrs.
Two suggestions: do 'Suite Sister Mary', one of the most epic songs ever written and a superb double-whammy vocal performance - from Geoff and Pamela Moore. Also check out a bloke by the name of Devin Townsend, whose voice is every bit as good as Geoff's.
First off, love your channel and your reviews. I found Queensrÿche when their first album came out was instantly hooked, but to completely understand Queensrÿche and appreciate what they are. You must listen to operation mind crime.!! That being said most people are unaware that there is a man with a singer. That was much better than Jeff Tate, but never got the chance they did don’t believe me Crimson glory first two albums are unbelievable top tracks in my opinion, Valhalla, Mayday, painted skies, Queen of the masquerade,Azrael , in dark places, and if you’re into speed check eternal worlds
It's interesting that you use the 'rock opera' analogy. Their album, 'Operation Mindcrime', was critically acclaimed as a 'rock opera'. It has become a rock and roll classic.
you should do an album listen/review of Operation Mindcrime 🤘 also check out their song "Walk in the Shadows" and maybe some of their Mtv unplugged stuff 👍
Try the song Empire. There’s the more mellow Silent Lucidity too. I’m a big fan of them but the earlier stuff isn’t for everyone. Mindcrime really kicked things off but Walk In The Shadows is a good one too.
The original Queensryche was so underrated - it's criminal
No autotune, live performance from sound equipment from the 80’s.
You’re not wrong but live recordings were often tinkered with before release

This was an encore performance, just think about it.
Queensrÿche is the greatest band ~ I always loved his vocals ❤️
I like the old school Queensryche...a buddy in highschool turned me on to them.🤘🎸
A lot of people miss Degarmo's harmonies. He also has great vocals.
Indeed, and Scott beating the ever-lovin' hell out of his drums!
Eddie Jackson is no slouch on the backing vocals either.
Or bass@@Rikrik1138

Definitely one of my favorite vocalists
Geoff took lessons from one of the top opera coaches in the world for about a year.
Top 10 best live performance of all time for me. And it's mid 80's 👌

Yes very operatic and my favorite vocalist. Thank you for your reaction, it's great !!

Rob Halford level
He did sing opera

Oh my guy. Bout time…. So many EPIC reactions to come if you go down this rabbit-hole of Queensryche.
Mugnify , Geoff along with Ann Wilson , Chris Cornell and Layne Staley were all students of Seattle vocal coach David "The Maestro" Kyle. He was known for his unique approach to vocal training , which included expanding vocal range and helping singers overcome psychological barriers.
That's interesting I've never heard of that
Keep up the Queensryche bruh!! 🔥
I was lucky enough to see Queensryche back in the day 5 times and they were always great live.
Great song and performance, once of the best back in the 1980s as far as I am concerned? Geoff had more power & range than most back then.
That my friend was an E5 by a baritone! He was classic trained!!
He was not in fact, he did take a couple of leassons, many people on inet say that he had been trained by an opera coach but it was just a couple of lessons.
This whole live performance is amazing.
There first two albums amazing.
The first one being a 4 song ep.
Queen of the Riech
I love the expressions when people hear Geoff belt this one out 😂
Operation Mindcrime album (in order) is worth a go. My favorite song is Another Rainy Night off of the Empire album.
He was the best of the best.

Chris DeGarmo’s contributions (lead guitar/songwriter) plus Tate’s voice was gold.
Geoff's aunt was an opera singer.

This klassic Queensryche take hold of the flame🤘💨🔥🔥🔥🔊🔉🔉🔊🎤🎸🎸🎸🥁🎼🎵🎶💀🤘🔥🔥💨🔉🔊🔉🔉🔊🔉🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💨💨💨💨
This song has such an inspiring message. 🔥
Roads to Madness is an epic for his all a round vocal abilities. If your human it should blow your mind!
This song is about hope and opportunity.
Geoff has an amazing voice! So much range! Legendary!
Keep rockin the Ryche and Roll !!!! 🔥

Sweet Sister Mary is what you really want to hear that one will blow your mind Geoff Tate tears it up
Just so you know, this was the last song of the concert. Yeh, he nailed those nots (4th and 5th octaves since you asked) after performing for almost 2 hrs.
Thanks for the review magnify ( the lady wore black is a blaster of a song by queensrych
Excellent reaction and glad you appreciate a great band! New sub here!
Thanks and welcome
The high note is an E5! I think this is the 9th or 10th song in the set. He was a beast! As if Dickenson and Halford had a baby.

“Operation Mindcrime” the title track has an epic back-to-back guitar solo by Wilton & DeGarmo.
Great reaction keep it up brother
Off the hook!!
this was an encore.. after a full set... so let that sink in

Absolutely 💯 🔥
I'm going to see Geoff do Operation Mindcrime next year in a small 500 person venue. I cannot wait!!
React to Silent Lucidity. Was Grammy nominated. Beautiful.

😂😂😂 I can't believe I was that accurate
So. Much. 80’s.
They are no joke! Vintage Queensrÿche rules! Try "Jet City Woman", "Silent Lucidity", "Queen Of The Ryche", "Empire"
You can’t beat early Queensryche… lml
you should do an album listen/review of Operation Mindcrime 🤘 also check out their song "Walk in the Shadows" and maybe some of their Mtv unplugged stuff 👍
Check out “Queen of the Ryche” if you dig their heavier stuff.
Thinking about rock opera, have you checked out Nightwish “GHOST LOVE SCORE”
I have a whole playlist dedicated to Nightwish
@@MugnifyRTS I’ll check it out, thanks
Wait till you get to the Operation: Mindcrime album. Boy oh boy, are you in for an experience.
If you like blues you should check out “The cold stares” they are blues/rock. 2 keys and a good book Is a good starter
Try the song Empire. There’s the more mellow Silent Lucidity too. I’m a big fan of them but the earlier stuff isn’t for everyone. Mindcrime really kicked things off but Walk In The Shadows is a good one too.
Check out this one: A later live performance of a song called "Open". Worth watching just for the drum work. ua-cam.com/video/RD5Jvi60GDo/v-deo.html
Geoff Tate is one of a kind!
If you want to hear Geoff Tate sing in a Blues style, Della Brown from thei MTV Unplugged session would be it.
Geoff Tate was capable of hitting E5… think E five octaves up on the piano from the lowest E key
You are correct operatically trained
Can you please make the video smaller please. I can still almost see it... Shame on the mess.
Bro...Geddy Lee can sing that all fucking day, and no one says anything. That is crazy
Dude you really comparing Geddy Lee to Tate as a vocalist? Lmao..... I've heard it all.😂
CRIMSON GLORY IS BETTER !!! …VALHALLA OR MAYDAY OR PAINTED SKIES!!!
LISTEN RFN!!!
