My dad graduated from Brown University many years ago, and as a child I was excited to go on my first plane ride. BTW.....the unofficial State Motto is "Welcome to Rhode Island. You have just left Rhode Island.". 😎
The light show is called Water Fire. It was supposed to be a one time thing. Been going on a few years now. It's wonderful
Great job! My home town. You should try to visit Newport (ocean drive and the mansion) while in RI.
Yes the mall is home to micro apts on the upper level. There are 48 micro mini lofts starting at $550 a month.
You should really think about putting all your aerial footage and get some "sleep" ASMR music, then make a 4 hour video out of it. Just an idea.
The Providence Arcade mall, only the bottom level is commercial. Everything else up top has been converted to condos.
Providence has a great food scene and has great instiod higher education, like Boston on a much smaller scale. I hope you got to explore College Hill.
All of our cities have great history, infrastructure, and stories if great substance!
Resident of Providence here. Thank you for doing a lovely view of the city, I am so used to fellow RhodeIslanders trash talking PVD. There is so much art, amazing restaurants, cultural events. If you ever get a chance to see Waterfire it is neat. The original RI charter can be viewed at the statehouse. The state house has the 4th largest free standing dome. Providence also has many nice parks and waterfront. I am glad to have found your channel, than you for sharing your journey.
We have 3 states left to visit and this is one of them! That guy needed to iron his wrinkled fruit shirt. Also believe it or not some of us like colder weather. Texas is way too hot for me in the summer. I would never leave the air conditioning!
Lived in Providence for five years (1998 -2003). My home was to the west of the capitol building. Could walk to downtown. MY youngest daughter was born in Providence. We absolutely loved our time there. Since we were transplanted from New Jersey, the weather wasn't a problem for us. There was always so many things to do and enjoy year round. My family still misses not living in The Greatest Little City In America. It looks more beautiful now than it did in 2003.
What a great documentarian you are-nice easygoing style. I love the way you blend visits to the upscale neighborhoods, the ghettos, historical landmarks, points of cultural interest, the good, the-not-so-good, the cheesy. I've become addicted to your travels so much so I've been binge-watching them. Fabulous work, Lord Spoda.
My hometown of Mansfield, Ohio is a great small city, big town with tons of history and stories!
Looks like a good place to visit, great architecture.
Providence is a great city and the State house is a real gem.
The state building is a beauty.
It would be cool if in your next visit you could stop by different areas of the state. There are very beautiful parts and very rundown parts and rural. There’s a lot to see.
You were in that shopping center where you made a lot of comments on the narrow halls of the shopping center. Those were apartments on the 2nd and 3rd levels in that shopping center. I remember reading something about it, here's an idea to transform some space from unneeded retail space to maybe needed residential space.
The " Spirit of America ", as written on Massachusetts license plates, is the spirit of New England !
I used to work at the arcade when there was a McDonald's in there years ago... they really fixed up that place. You guys missed out on a few spots around the city... prospect terrace.. they have a statue of Roger Williams..founder of providence, over looking city.. the old state house was actually a few streets away from the state house you visited .. the first Baptist church in America is also around that area and Roger Williams memorial park, where I believe was the very first settlement of providence was also In that area. You should come visit again and check it out.. it's pretty cool 😎. Great video👍
