Coming from someone who works in a grocery store, Arizona actually has two types of cans a shop owner can order: normal cans and cans marked with the 99c pricing on the can. The idea is that even though you may lose money or break even from selling Arizona ice teas, people will go to the store to buy the tea and buy other items leading to more profit in the long run. Other stores that don't want to do this do have the option to sell them for more than 99c. Edit: The term for these items are "loss leaders" and it's the same concept Costco uses for their cheap hot dogs. Think about it for a second, if AriZona ice tea can just "use less aluminum in their cans to save money" wouldn't every beverage company do this?
Nah, they gotta be able to make money on the drinks too. Their beverages are insanely cheap to make, and even with transportation and everything it'll still be cheap enough to sell it to the store for them to make some profit. I'm sure that even when a CVS or something does their 2/$1.00 deal with them, that they still make money on them.
@@omppusolttu5799 I was making a joke about how he said it wasn’t always a cheap drink. But then goes on to say it used to cost 99 cents, so the same as it is now.

That's a businessman that cares
I instantly thought of sipping tea in ur hood when i saw the picture lol
I went to my local gas station and now they sell it for $1.5 because the new deal there was 2 for 3 dollars.
They are one of, if not the biggest fortune 500 company. They can cut revenue some places and make it back bigger in another.
And that is why they will always have my business
Arizona is the best super cheap I swear every store you go to there is a new flavor and they are always amazing
McDonald's soft drinks are $1 and Costco has a hot dog and a soda for $1.50 as well. This is not a one-off thing. It keeps the customers coming.
In Australia because shops have to import it it costs us like $5 for a can
Child labor is the next budget cut
That's actually very smart!
At a place by me they have plastic bottle ones for 1.25 but then the corner store has thr cans for 99 cents. The best drink ever and it's so cheap. So reliable
if you go to circle K they are 1.50 or 1.22 each if you get 2 cans. they are branded with a red ring and a K at the top.
The funny thing about this post is that Arizona in my area is $1.25 now. Still a decent price for the drink, but it isn’t 99¢ anymore.
I’d never heard of AriZona iced tea, but now, I’m it’s number one fan
Arizona is a manufacturer and wholesaler. The retail sale is always way more.
The grocery next to me sold it for $.48, now its .68. So the grocery sells it for a profit amd whatever profit they want between wholesale and MSRP. Arizona hasnt done anything but print a label.
