I love how you helped them out, great job to the whole crew 💕👏👍 I enjoyed learning about post tension, not familiar with that
Thanks so much
What a great video David. Post tension is an interesting process. Seems to be popular in desert climates.
Hillsides I think is where it occurs most
Big pour - incredible!
Ty
Cool video. Looking forward to the next, thanks

Love seeing AZ jobs, it's so different than back east or anywhere else.
For sure
We need to see the final product :)
You just want to see the job done right. That's what I really appreciate about you!
I will jump in if needed.
I don't know if I mentioned it, but one of their guys got sick and called it off after the first hour.
Oh, hey, did you hear about what happened just in that area the other day? A prison bus and a cement mixer collided on the highway. The cops are out searching for hardened criminals.
I didn't hear about the bus, but I did see a death from a collision with a concrete truck
These hardened criminals are set in their ways. It is too late now, but they should have been re-formed.
@@1sttigertiger426 😁
i couldve swore it was a Viagra truck they collided with lol
These comments 🤣
I found that Post Tension Cable stamp on my garage floor when I bought my house so I did an internet search to see what that meant. I don’t see it used very often.
it's rare but more common on hillsides
If that area were to be left open it would be a great catching area for rain or the garage's roof could do the same work.
I have not idea about the technicalities but I will ask my friend Google :)
Nice job as always!
That would be cool
Hey Mr. Odell. I don't know if it was your video, but someone was spraying their formboards with a weedpump sprayer filled with motor oil and something else. What else was in the sprayer? Just oil would be too thick and water won't mix with it. Do you oil your formboards?
Sometimes I use form oil
This crew was fortunate to have you. You were their concrete finisher (and commentator giving the play-by-play).
They would have handled it, but I had to jump in. Better early then late.
Concretebusters in action with the sprayer.
No ghost here
Question, if you have plumbing running underneath a post tension slab, how are you supposed to do repairs if the plumbing leaks in a high-rise building.
Plumbing in highrise have access below floors
Why would you want to do a post tension slab? Is it because of the climate? Seems risky for the side pulling you mentioned. I pour in the pnw we drill into existing when possible and add rebar and wet down and cover cracks a a minimal. We usually saw cut 2nd day depending on weather we’re cold up here tho
Hillsides usually call for post tension
💪
What about in the future when people remodel and cut through the slab to run piping?
Overhead
Holy crap - looks like living on Mars
Yes, and Elon is recruiting workers from here
How do you get away with not using a vibrator to consolidate mix and increase strength
Tamp
What are they going to do about drainage with that slope down to the slab?
I suspect the curb was form was tapered
Why anti termite chemicals in concrete? Do they take appart concrete?
Sprayed on the dirt prior to concrete placement
Post tension use? Soil conditions necessitated or cost savings to the builder.
Concrete terminology
Hillside homes normally get post tension
Would you do any work in Dolan Springs?. It's not far from Bullhead City.
Sure
@@OdellCompleteConcrete sick🤙 I been a long time sub, it's definitely cool you service Mohave county now!. I'm on your website now I'll definitely get in touch, thanks! Have a happy Easter.
In Las Vegas my moms house was post tension but then accidentally cut the wires when the builder was trying to cut the end of garage frame because the door would not seal and it was wet inside the garage when it rained. (This was after 2 repair try’s in 1996
sounds dangerous
@@OdellCompleteConcrete the pop when they cut was loud and house shook.. glad we don’t own it started getting odd cracking on stucco and a pipe broke like 2 months later

Do you do concrete work in oklahoma?
No he just works in AZ and Southern California
I wish
Ah, dang, I used to live in AZ, lol in oklahoma now, and need a foundation or two.
Huge 8 inch thick slab, post tension running through it, garage big enough for a couple rv’s, I’m guessing the owner is caring about the cost.
Very reasonable.

A tension slab? I’ve seen it on second floors but never on first floor. Why this and not just rebar?Educate us on this Dave.
Hillside homes often get this treatment
As I understand, there are a couple reasons why this slab would be used as opposed to a normal slab on grade.
One is there are no normal footers required as the tension created spreads the load without having large footers.
Second is a post tension slab does very well over expansive clay type soils. They are somewhat considered a ‘floating’ slab and are less prone to be affected by those soil conditions.
This is why these slabs tend to be more common in regions with those type soils.
Sounds good
SWEET 👍

Better late than never 👍
right on Drummer
Why do they use the jitterbug?
Knock the rocks down
Thanks
Is this a $50k foundation?
Could be
Bit different for highrise post tensions
No more California work?
He said in another video that he is licensed in CA and AZ and I’m guessing here, he is probably going to start spending more time at his AZ house.
Yes I do have CA. work also
