Hi, thank you for the video, definitely a good cost saving idea. Regarding the use of frosted paper vs rice paper, will frosted paper work in this printer and if using the frosted paper, does the printer automatically align the head to the thickness of the paper? I ask because frosted paper is thicker than rice paper and am not sure if the printer head will touch the paper while printing resulting in a smudged image.
Hi! Rice paper is thin and a bit see through it does not have a back to peel off. The images come out a bit see through as well. It is best used on white frosting or fondant. Rice paper is cheaper. Frosting paper is thick and super white. It has a backing you have to peel off once you are ready to use. Images come out really nice. This one actually almost looks like a white paper. It is a bit more expensive but I found if you buy in bulk you get a better price for them. Hope this helps!
I don't use a program, I just plug it in to the computer and adjust the size on the printer settings. There are programs for printing images or sometimes for 2" round cupcake images I will use Avery.com's template. I upload my image and create a 12 - 2" circles, then I save and download to my computer as a pdf file. After just print the image the way it is to your edible printer.
So there's no difference between going through one of these cake sites like www.icinginks.com, sweetandmagical.com, or icingmagic.com. I wanna purchase it's about 300 dollars cheaper to just buy the normal printer. However i fear it might break or not be safe to consume. You seem pretty professional and have at least 2 years experience now on the equipment i'd really appreciate your advice to help my decision. Id love to save the money, but im willing to splurge and buy an already edible one. It makes more feasible to buy the ink, carts, and frosting sheets and a normal printer, but I really dont wanna have problem. Any advice or would be extremely helpful. Thank you
Hi there, As long as you buy the printer brand new and make sure it's compatible with the edible ink cartridges available you should not have a problem and it is safe ( you must make sure the printer is brand new and never been used with regular ink). I've had several printers. My first one was from one of those websites and once it was not working anymore I just bought a brand new compatible printer on my own and used it for edible printing. I've had to buy a couple after a few years of heavy use, so I buy them myself now that I know what I need rather than paying a lot of money every time. Since it is your first printer you might want to go with one of those websites as they probably do offer support for set up and things like that. If you need one later on you might feel more comfortable with purchasing it on your own. Hope this helps!
Hey am using it for edible pic as well do you know why it keeps telling me that there no paper on the upper cassette if am not using the upper am using the lower cassette for some edible image ? TIA
Hello! It might be a setting on your computer under printers. I'll look into it and see if I can figure it out. I'll post a video if I can figure out. thanks!

I've used frosted paper with this printer and have not had an issue.
I just bought this printer and love it, but I am having problems with it grabbing the paper that has the plastic on the bottom of it, what can I do
Hello, have you tried to place the paper one at a time?
Also make sure to place the plastic side facing up and that the icing sheet is facing down when putting it into your paper tray.
Hello! It depends where you buy the printer. Make sure it is brand new and never been used with regular ink if you buy it from someone.
Thank you❤❤
You're welcome 😊
Hi I was wondering do scanning this machine does the same thing can you show us how to scan and print
Hello! Yes, you should be able to scan a picture onto edible paper with this printer. I will try it and upload a video. :)
What's the difference between rice wafer paper and icing paper? Does one print better than the other?

@@SimpleBaking what would be better to use on jellos
@@telsiehyde4087 I've never tried it on Jellos. Maybe Frosting paper would be better.
Thank you 👌

With regular printers you will suffer from more clogs since these sites that you indicate modify the ink system.
So where did you get the ink cartridge from? Was it a good deal cus I no they have bundles. Thanks for showing
I bought it on Ebay, and it was a good deal.
