After wasting a ton of ink cleaning as suggested by canon and reading so many people not finding a fix I was thrilled that this worked. I’m happy my machine won’t be going to the landfill and I found this video.
Absolutely spot on. Fixed my years old MX922 printhead problems. Prints just like it was new. Follow the instructions completely. Especially hooking a syringe and tubing to the printhead to flush out the old dried ink - Pure Genius!! I got a kids/baby oral syringe (10ml) off amazon for a few bucks and hooked up some old tubing I had around the house. Just a fantastic tutorial - 27 stars!!!
Hands down one of the best if not the best tutorial I have ever seen on matters such as this! Comprehensive, thorough, patiently explained, and a smashing success! Smashing is the key word as it kept me from smashing my printer with a sledge hammer when all else failed! Just kidding...lol! Totally Awesome Video, and stars across the board!
Thank you so much! I dug my printer out of storage after a few years to find it wasn't printing any black, but was able to resurrect it. I had no confidence this would work and probably woudn't have even tried it if it weren't for this nice, encouraging video. Cheers
I was a little skeptical, that this was going to save my little terrific printer. However, I followed the directions exactly, got out the little paintbrush, got out a syringe that actually fit and lo and behold, my great six year old printer is now completely functional once again. The directions are actually very simple, and I followed them exactly. There was nothing I had to buy or obtain in anyway to solve this problem and my little canon MX 920 is fully functional once again. Thank you so much to the person who put this video together, it saved me from tossing out a perfectly good printer and spending a ton of money and something that probably would not be any better! Ginny Keller
Worked like a charm. Thanks. Just a point of reference for anyone following along, make sure to pull the bottom of the print head carriage out when trying to put the print head back in. I made the mistake of not pulling it out for 10 very frustrating minutes.
So glad to find this helpful video! Thanks for the easy-to-follow and clear instructions! I had to print the pattern a couple of times and then run the "clean clogged nozzle" function again, but now it is working beautifully!
🤯🎉Dude! I really thought I was going to have to buy a whole new printer, but another one of your videos brought me here - I have a G7020, but just a few minutes in a solution with warm water & alcohol (had no windex) and I’ve already seen MASSIVE improvement, the nozzle check prior (even with deep cleanings) barely printed anything beyond a third of cyan and strip of yellow ONLY - now I have damn near a full nozzle check test printed! I’m going to do another machine deep clean or leave it in the solution longer, but you really saved me $300. THANK YOU!
Was about to pull the trigger on a new printer but thought I'd give this a shot on a different canon printer. The syringe element seemed to make the difference, works like new now, thank you!
Dude.... you're a flippin lifesaver. I followed your instructions to the T, and everything I'd back working. Thank you! Ps.... a bit of positive feedback; I clicked on your video precisely because of your thumbnail with the "from this, to this" images. Good work.
It was printing a million fine lines. Fixed problem. Worked perfectly. Pay close attention to putting print head back in. You’ll thank me. 😊 Cleaning encoder not needed.
Thankyou so much, your video solved my printer problem 😊 soaking it in a glass cleaner and bit of ammonia plus the syringe thing was a helpful trick for me.
Thanks for this useful video! In my case I was getting no cyan color at all, and removing and cleaning the print head would not fix the problem. What fixed the issue was the syringe trick shown in your video! Clever idea!
On my Canon MX922 the text prints blurry and is really hard to read. Would this be because I need to clean the print heads? I tried the regular cleaning process from the menu display, but it didn’t help.Thank you. Your videos are great!
Hi. I'm sorry you are having trouble with your printer. Try soaking the bottom of the printhead in about 1/8th of an inch in windex for a few hours or overnight.
If my printer is still shooting out blank pages after doing this, and getting it so clean the water is clear, do you have a video on what to do for that situation? (put new ink in low cartridges - still nothing) Thank you very much for this video.
I just got a support code B200 on Canon PIXMA MX922 Printer. I found several videos that explained the same thing. As you are doing to your printer, have you had this occurred again to your printer? Since you put this video out a year ago. How often have you done this since then? Your information would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, thank you so much for this video. I followed all the instructions to the tea reinstalled the PH new ink carts in but I'm still code 1403, 😢 so annoying any suggestions or things to triple check was very careful.
I appreciate your video and cleaned the print head twice on my beloved MX922 printer. Prior to cleaning, no colors were printing and I had done the heavy internal cleaning several times. I only managed to get the large black print block to come back. My apartment is small and can only be arranged in a certain way so I have-to-have a front loading printer and the MX922 really fit the bill and did a wonderful job for me for years with documents and photos. Before giving it a proper burial, I was wondering if you have any other tips that might help or is there a print head worth ordering to fix it? I was looking and the cost is almost as much as I paid for the printer originally. I'm on a fixed income and can't spend frivolously. Thanks.
Hi. Thank you very much for your feedback. Usually if you tried cleaning printhead manually and absolutely no color is coming through on any other colors nozzles, the problem is most likely with ink cartridges. Is there a chance your cartridges are dry at ink port?
@@303electronics I didn't have a syringe on my first 2 attempts at cleaning so I managed to find one and do another cleaning. Even though my printer cartridges had been printing, I decided to try a new set. With the syringe and new cartridges, my wonderful MX922 is now back to printing. I am very happy about that and thank you very very much!
Saw one of your videos before regaring epson printer not feeding paper. I tried your tip and it worked! Very helpful! I am using Epson L805 but now I am encounterning another problem. My prints are quite faded on a matte photopaper eventhough my setting is high quality print. I also tried nozzle clean already and it didn't work. Huhu was wondering what tip you could give. Thank you so much in advance!
I just went through the whole tutorial (great tutorial) but I'm still having issues with the regular black (not PGBK) print head. I can visually see the dried ink clogging the nozzle but it just won't come out. Are there any other things I could try for extremely stubborn ink? I got the while printer at a thrift store for like $10 so if I need to buy a new print head it's whatever.
Hi, yes, I apologize for a late reply, but I posted a video yesterday and the first part of the video, first 6 minutes approximately, the technique is what you can use for an EcoTank printer like g3410. ua-cam.com/video/vNHOaATPloU/v-deo.htmlsi=jZWQufJ-_Wj-Z6fo
Great guide. Was able to clean my print head completely but still having an issue. You have any idea why print head would draw in the ink but then print absolutely nothing on the paper from either paper tray? I can see it consuming the ink but nothing is printing at all. Very strange.
Hello 303electronics, I followed all your cleaning steps to remove B200 error from other video but I got a problem that all cartridge lamps are not lit anymore and I got error 1405 and then 1660. I then checked the cartridge pin contact after cleaning the print head but I got no voltage anymore. I did measure the pin contact before the cleaning, if I remember correctly, the voltage on the left pin 1-2 is around 2.76v and the right pin 3-5 is around
Will this work for blurred text? I’m going to try cleaning the head as suggested but my text is coming out blurry on some lines and clear on others. So frustrating.
You may need to check your cartridge. Sometimes it may seem like plenty ink is there but the port where ink comes out may be dry. You may also try flipping the ink cartridge over and dropping a few warm water drops on the port. That may dissolve some ink. If you see better results, you will know that the problem is the cartridge, not the printhead. If you have good cartridges, then try soaking the bottom of printhead in solution for a little bit longer.
Do you have any advice on what to do with a MX922 That wont turn on. One minute mines was working fine, then the next day it kept shutting off quickly. I thought it was a print head issue, so I took the print head out, cleaned it and it still didnt work. Then I bought a new head to replace it but now my printer wont turn on at all so I can't even use the replacement. I switched outlets too. But it still won't even turn it on 😢

Any thoughts about using isopropyl alcohol instead of the winded solution to clean the print head?
