Find Velocity, Volume, and Shape of Stream for Water Leaving a Hole

Here the velocity v2 is shown to be independent on the hole area A2. In real life why do we see water from a smaller hole shoots farther, meaning v2 should be dependent on A2?

its because of the assumption v1 =0. if A2 increased in size to the point that v1 =/ 0, then it will be dependent on A2.
