On the pronunciation that I'm sure is already here somewhere: ONE OK ROCK is technically said as "one o'krock" which is a play on how there's no L in Japanese and so when non-Japanese words are converted, the L sound is more of a mix of L and R. So "one o'clock" becomes "one o'krock." As for why "one o'clock" it's because that was the time that the band used to practice.

It's the "2018 Ambitions Japan Dome Tour" and has a Blue-Ray / DVD. I personally went to Fukuoka, Japan for this exact same tour at Yafuoku Dome and they're the two shows of them that I love the most. I'm so glad that I went to Japan for their shows in my life, my best memories EVER.

Don't know if it's been mentioned by anyone but someone told me that during this concert, he was a bit sick, so his voice wasn't at 100%. Keeping that in mind it's amazing how he was still this good, especially that long note when he sang "I'm not afraid".

In Japanese, One O'clock is spelled One Okurok or you can say One O'croc.
It's because in Japanese, letter "L" in English is mostly spelled "R".
The story behind One O'clock is from the band that usually training at One O'clock in the studio everyday.

Great reactions. Welcome to OOR...there are so many great songs waiting for you to react. You correctly said his name...Taka..(Takahiro is the proper name but most people call him Taka). Lives are usually better than studio but still worth checking MVs from time time...cos they often arranges original songs on stage...so...probably,,,,,my suggestion is to do the MV or lyrics video checks first then go to live next if that is acceptable.. They do acoustic versions a lot as well and it is better to check original first.....you can check next "Cry Out" live Japan Dome Tour..from the same show...cheers from Japan

Love your reaction 💯I like to see people enjoy their performance haha, they are truly amazing, it's hard not to love them after watching their live video.
And yes, they had sold the BD of the whole concert, it's really good," we are" actually is the last song of the setlist, but you still can feel the 100% energy through the whole video✨✨
Maybe you can react to "Take what you want -Japan Dome Tour" next time? It's from the same concert, and this one is heart pulling too✨
Ps. I think calling them "One Ok Rock" is fine, they introduced themselves this way in west, they only use "One O'clock" when they speak Japanese because Japanese pronounce English differently.

I'm sure someone already answered this but in English you can just say it like "One Okay Rock" (the band themselves do). In Japaneese it's actually a word play from the Japanese pronunciation of "one o'clock" but it doesn't really make sense to say it that way in English haha

Loved your reaction and because you are a music producer, your comment was even more amazing. One OK Rock fans really love Taka's vocals because they are out of this world and we love when other people recognize their genius as a rock band. And Taka writes most of the music and lyrics and the lyrics are always positive and sometimes life changing. Glad you like One OK Rock a lot.

It's a combination of Japanese and English since the word in both language soound similar. And the name was base on the fact that the band use to practice at 1:00 o'clock am because it was shipper to use the studio at that time. That's how they came out with the one One Ok Rock.(krock)❤❤❤

The part of the video where you started talking about singing, it got me curious to know if you've ever heard Dimash? More specifically, have you ever heard him sing live? If not, you must. Dude will blow your mind with his 6 Octaves + 2 Semitones of seemingly effortless singing. Even if on your own time, do it. I recommend Greshnaya strast (Sinful passion) by A'Studio, Love Is Like a Dream, and SOS | 2021(

Epic stuff huh? Wait till you see/hear 'Take What You Want', same tour. It's special too.
"The band's name comes from "one o'clock", the time that the band used to practice their music on weekends. They chose to play at one o'clock in the morning because it was cheaper to use the rehearsal space during such hours. However, noticing that the Japanese language made no distinction between R's and L's, "O'CLOCK" transformed into "O'CROCK" or "O'KROCK", which later transformed into "OK ROCK". In addition, One Ok Rock can be expressed as "10969" (wan-ō-ku-ro-ku). The band uses both Japanese and English lyrics in their songs. " - wiki

Like oneokuroku it means like one o clock cause they didn´t have too much money to book a studio at day so they rehearse and recorded at 1 o clock am cause it was cheaper. My favorite version of we are (of course all their live performances are spectacular) is at the 18 FES. It is so emotional they singing with teenagers like a beautiful chorus.

Somebody probably already answered your question somewhere, but... you can say One OK Rock the way you say it in English, I think that's how they say it in English, too :) But in Japanese, it would be "wan oku rokku", and since r and l are the same sound in Japanese and u at the end is often not pronounced, you can also say "wan ok lokk" which is basically "one o'clock". ;)

It’s said one o clock. So the r in okrock is actually an L because Japanese people don’t have an R in their alphabet. So when they see it in English they hear an L instead so it’s a play on that and the name one o clock is because back when they started that was the time slot that was the cheapest to get recording time
