"cheese machine" is the old colloquial term for the string machines of the 70s, a particular breed of synths that were supposed to replicated string sounds using a technique known as divide-down oscilators, obviously they never got close to real sound but they have a distinct sound now.

Halftime in Ableton like Halftime plugin
1 - Drop a audio file inside a audio clip
2 - Set warp to Beats mode
3 - Transpose down 12 semitones ( down 1 octave)
4 - Set preserve time on 1 Bar
5 - Set transient loop mode on Back/Forward ()
Bonus tip
Stutter/Gate effect
1 - Follow Step 1 & 2 from above and 3 optional if you want to use Halftime and add Stutter/Gate effect
2 - Change Preserve Timing (1/4, 1/8, 1/16 so on)
3 - Set Transient Loop Forward only (------>)
4 - Change Transient Envelope to lower value (50 works well) to get Stutter/ Gate effect

I've been using Kee Bass for years great little phat synth. I've gotten massive mileage using it for drones in theatre productions.

The free plugin that recommend is Prisma, a multiband distortion (up to 4 bands instead of 3) that you can add soft, hard clip, sample divide and pan the certain frequencies that doesn’t do one internal sound.
I’ve actually heard about this plugin, just haven’t tried it yet! It definitely sounds like a plugin I would like, I’ll download asap. Thanks for the reminder my friend💪

The second plugin is for key changes. But don't softwares like Ableton already do that?
Hey my friend, yes they can do that. But if you don’t understand the difference yet that’s all cool, that just means you need to play with the DAW stock plugins until you understand them and know their limitations. Then you’ll understand why sometimes these additional plugins are useful!
I know that doesn’t answer your question exactly but it’s the best advice I can give💪
