Love this. Anxiety in software engineering is never something that really gets addressed, and dealing with ambiguity is a skill that takes quite some time to learn! Great insight 😀
I couldn't agree more. While embracing change makes you adaptable, you need help to get there. I did coding bootcamp and I deteriorated mentally.
If you get older , you will laugh but lesser stress but .. if junior just want to rant . Let they rant . burnout is real . Plan plan your task. If the junior said 3 hour set as 9 hour . Times 3 .
When you think about it, it's strange that something as structured as software engineering can simultaneously be ambiguous. We humans naturally desire structure, and ambiguity can definitely be anxiety-inducing. But I think you make a good point - software engineering teaches us skills on how to make sense of that ambiguity.
But mayuko is already the best hooman ever 🥰🥰
Love this comment.. 🤭👍

Unrelated, but your hair looks amazing here 😍
Loved this video! Appreciate the thoughts around ambiguity, great insights! 🥰
Thank you Mayuko for all of the videos you have made for us! I enjoy watching your videos it helps me a lot.
Love the video!
I think a key part of reducing ambiguity and anxiety in my opinion is finding the balance in your decision making. Its nearly impossible to entirely remove ambiguity and just not practical to learn all there is to know about everything. Therefore it is up to you to find the right balance of what level of ambiguity you are comfortable with before you start putting together and plan and actioning on todos.
Even when you clear up ambiguity it can sometimes make decisions harder as you learn more about the risks of certain plans. Therefore it is again up to you to find the right amount of risk that you are willing to accept.
Love the video quality and information.
Agile actually has helped me outside of work...
Your videos are so refreshing i love them
Thanks!
I like video I have anxiety sometimes with my work to buy I learned to get through it like you I talked to someone and work through it a move on this was a good message for you audience.
Hi Mayuko, I love it yours videos !!
Part of me wanted to escape the mountain of ambiguity that I had to face in graphic design day by day through moving into the direction of software engineering. But then I realized that there is a lot of design problems in SE as well and all the ambiguity comes right back again. It is part of any kind of meaningful and creative work and a huge part of life itself; trying to avoid it is only making our life miserable and fearful, so we might as well embrace it.
Something clicked while I was watching this video. I realized I don't care so much about following a career path already set forth for whatever industry I'm working in at a given time. I've currently been working in sales for the past couple of years and have felt this sense of stagnation and boredom. I think getting into a career path like SWE would be perfect for me because like you described, there's a lot of ambiguity involved and I think thats what I need. I also want to start creating content on UA-cam and working as a developer would be a perfect career while I pursue other things on the side. Thank you, Mayuko for perfectly saying what I could not put into words lol
Your channel give me peace
Thanks
Education and money that's comes with it helps quite a bit too. Not perfect but opens doors.
What is that external monitor? Am in the market for this
Great !
It can also make you feel like a mercenary.. The worst kind, especially knowing what most corporates that pay decent salaries do to and with people!!
The background light is every changing...
I like the sponsor here
Красивая девочка, не знаю о чем она но это не особо важно, просто эстетическое удовольствие от просмотра
As someone who didn't really feel represented in my field, I felt like I had a similar approach dealing with change and my engineering degree taught me a lot about.
Also, I wish Notion would sponsor me as I try to sell it to people all the time~
I am so IMpressed from your physieeee .. would you please telll me your AGE;
Learning how to code made me fat.
🤣🤣🤣🤣me too😭😭😭
Would you say we learned to embrace change as a software engineer because the job requires you to learn different languages every other year? Speaking of anxiety why not do a video on maintaining mental health during bootcamp? That hit me a lot.
She has a husband?!😔😭
Why you sad 💩💩
I'd like you to say something in Japanese for more than well, 15 seconds to compare your voice in English and Japanese. Im interested if the voice changes or not.
First
Thanks!
