My boy and I are heading out there at the end of June. We will be in our 12' tin boat. Good to see other folk enjoying that water without the need for a huge boat.
Absolutely, just have to make sure you use common sense and stay close to shore and never go out in bad conditions, highly recommend you go see rennell sound
We will use caution for sure. Rennell sound is where we will be fishing and hunting. This is our 4th year seeing HG during the summer school break. Every year we attempt something different.
@@NorthPineOutdoors Awesome, thanks! Say, if I tow a 20' boat, with a 1/2 ton truck, is that final kilometer down to the water a bit too steep, or just what?
No it’s fine, just don’t go up or down on a rainy day, drive about 6km past the rennell campsite to an old logging deck where there’s lot of room to camp and a private boat launch , residents are squatting at the forestry campsite so you’ll never get a spot
Excellent trip! Lots of great fishing. The girls sure had a good time lol! Thanks for sharing AU!
It was a trip of a lifetime, so glad to make it over there

Was that road (runs south of the campsite, I think) washed out?
It was washed out but was fixed when we went through
