I went there in the 80s, it was called the Queen Charlotte Islands back then but anyway I went for summer vacation and stayed there for 5 years, I loved it so beautiful and magical from the whales to the bears to everything, I would love to move back to retire if possible after 5years there is so much more to explore, truly my favourite place
This is beautiful. I'm bring my wife and children home for the first time. Haida here. Living in the big city after living on the mother land for north of a decade. My fears come with my family not wanting to leave. Which I understand. Whole heartedly. My plan was to always come home. But if life throws me that curve ball, so be it. I will never refuse the call of my Nation and home. Thank you for this gorgeous peep into another world. May peace and happiness follow you everywhere you go. Love
Wow I first heard of the Haida Gwaii through Janine from Tarotbyjanine - I've never been there but while watching some footage of the island I got a strong feeling that I knew the places she was showing us 🤔
Not exactly the best side of Haida Gwaii, but that's what unfettered logging will do for you. I'd like to have seen them stroll down the road past the mish-mash of cabins and motor home to the creek. Loggers built a road right through the creek, logging off the standing cedar on both banks (ignoring rules against logging in riparian areas), then bulldozed the creek open again when they were done. Before you get all incensed at the big multinational logging companies, let me tell you that this show was done by a local logger, on private property. The wonder of these islands is shared by most, but not all, the locals.
Moved to Haida Gwaii a decade ago and you hit the lifestyle right on!!!!!

So calming to watch. Our friend Janine was just there for 2 weeks and gave us amazing footage as well. 🌞💫✨💖

It looks like hard times. I think I'll pass.
Been here 36 years, it is paradice, incredible land and sea.
Too cold and remote
So nice to hear the name Haida Gwaii instead of Queen Charlotte.
Yes we prefer to use the original name :) It feels more like the place than Queen Charlotte!
A lot said to convey very little.
You should go and see for your self, you will not regret it :)
