  • Hidden away in a quiet estate in the small Victorian Town of Castlemaine lies an amazing 'Private Collection' of historic motorcycles that will blow your mind.
In this episode the Flogs get a private viewing to share in this video.
Dave Reidie was previously the owner and dealer principle at Harley City in Brunswick.
Over more than 40 years Dave has amassed an impressive collection of historic motorcycle that he occasionally opens up to motorcycle groups, when this happens it is an event not to be missed.
This collection is a feast for the eyes and literally 99% of them are running and ridden regularly, just like the famous 'Wheels Through Time' in the USA, and just like the late Dale Walkster, Dave is a literal 'human encyclopedia' of information.
Join us as we travel back and whilst we are there get introduced to an American V Twin that folklore
blatantly states "Once you ride one you will never be able to ride anything else!"
Are these two Harley Nuts convinced?
After the tour we head back to the Studio where we bring you more of our usual segments.
Whitey has a big crack at a local 'Police Initiative' and asks "Why don't we get REAL statistics?"
All this and more on Australia's Biker Show 'Hogs, Cogs and Two Aussie Flogs.

Hi Whitey Paul another great video. Loved Dave's musx oops ! Gallery and by has he got some knowledge. We've got some problems over here in UK that you have. About a month ago we lost a Biker in his 50s who was killed by two young morons in a car driving on the wrong side of the road. Small comfort to his family but he was given Bikers send off as he was someone who spent a lot of his time helping others as well. We're also seeing a lot of bikes being nicked for having undersize number plates. They should spend more time capturing those stealing our bikes or drivers using their mobiles whilst driving. Looking forward to the next one. Ted

Cheers mate. Yes Dave has a ripper collection and his knowledge is outstanding. As for police enforcing poxy minor infractions rather than taking the time to solve the real issues I could end up with RSI if I started. It’s ridiculous. By the way your number plates are about twice the size of ours, what moron came up with that idea? 😂

Increase in cost of living Segways to working more hours Segways higher fatigue then commute to save money then riding later on less then great roads more people on the road riding and driving. Wearing safety gear. I got run off the road just outside Bungendore, and dropped my bike broke my leg, hit a pothole no street lights on the corner, 4WD overlook on the corner trailer was black and poorly lit. It’s a domino effect

Hey Simo, this is the point I was trying to make. There are multiple factors that have contributed to this spike, but we need more data to actually see where we as riders can improve, not just being fined into submission or expected to believe their guesses. Thanks for watching and we hope your leg is all good now. 👍

I'm back in Canada now but grew up in the UK, I've had one accident on the road, and That was as a Tractor-Trailer that pulled away from the lights at the bottom of one of their terrible 3 piece flyovers, so I had been forced to Brake hard downhill, and as the trailer moved off, he revealed a lane plus by100yd long covering of the road surface, with a Gelitain like substance. I got off the Brakes just in time, and tried just cruising through it but just before the end down I went, Hard. The only thing that stopped the Car following me, and sliding everywhere, was my Crash helmet, luckily a good one Luckily. Nobody was hurt but my Brand new Bike, my first Big one after the L plates came off was pretty Banged up, I got away with a chipped elbow and some bruises and the Car driver needed a new suit, but that was it. When I got my insurance claim my #yr no claims bonus was gone, because the Cops wrote a single-vehicle accident due to incorrect speed for road conditions.
Fast Forward some 20+yrs and sadly my loverly wife was Killed, I was the lead bike, and I was speeding through the corners until I approached the last corner, which was a blind sweeper, Brenda wasn't as confident and she was at the speed limit, or below. As I entered the corner, an off-chamber jobbie, with 4 gravel rds entering into it so one you watched I noticed it was covered in marble-sized Gravel, a local Farmer had rented his yard, to Hwy Construction Firms and the Guy operating the Tractor loading Dump trucks had strewn this Gravel all over the Rd and simply left it. I slowed as I got into the corner by down-shifting, To warn Brenda, she lost control early after entry, and instead of just letting go she fought it, and ended up going into the oncoming Lane and was Killed instantly, the Bike was wrecked. I had her daughter on the back who luckily didn't see it, I did in the rear view mirror. The couple in the SUV could do nothing, there was no time the way that corner is due to the Hills, They were very nice to her Daughter and although in shock, helped as much as possible I was very grateful to them. The Cops kept us there from about 8pm until a little after midnight, with constant Questioning and pissing me off more and more, as I wanted to be with my wife, Finally after a sworn statement, I was released. Witnesses who saw the accident and were walking their dog, this being a little travelled Rd, gave statements and told me, that she wasn't speeding and that was in their statements to the Cops. Outcome! The Cops wrote this up as a single-vehicle accident due to "speeds inappropriate for road conditions", they charged the couple who Helped in the SUV, with "Driving too fast for the road conditions". That cost me the Insurance coverage, as it was her fault, in a no-fault system? no mention, nor any charges were laid against me, for threatening a police officer and assaulting road workers, who were busily cleaning up the Gravel, before the accident assessment squad arrived. I'm a Full SAE member Engineer and had considered taking that course and had looked into it, through the SAE, I knew exactly what they were doing. Hence my temper got the better of me, and I thumped some, who didn't stop sweeping! The Cop was on the Radio all the time as he couldn't control me, and the injured members of the cleaning crew were complaining. At least by the time they left, some Gravel was present, and mention of strange-sized gravel was made, in a report? I should have gone to jail? I continued to kick up a stink about it, admitted I had assaulted workers, and would laid out the Cop! All was swept away, as no township or city in Ontario will admit to being at fault in a road accident caused by them. So no assault charges could be laid, the other couple's charges were later dropped and Finally They made a $20,000 payment to her daughter's college fund, with no admission of guilt, I was never charged or even mentioned as anything other than a witness. It is a worldwide policy I was told, always single-vehicle accidents! and especially if road works are at fault.

@@hogscogsandtwoaussieflogs Thanks for your reply, it's appreciated. I only hope the point behind it is not lost, I'm 200 lbs of trained old-school self-defence offensive Warrior, and at the time my conditioning was second to none. So they had a control issue on their hands, the press was there she was much loved in the community. Optics wouldn't have been great if they tried using force, they thought about it? Second, The dispute started over my wife's body just being left in the road, and they didn't want me sitting with her, hence the try and Fucking stop me response. All this time the Focus was really on scene clean-up rather than any kind of decency! this is 20yrs on now and my Daughter-in-law is an Insurance exec, which makes life touchy at times, but she has confirmed what I've said, the Insurance companies use their multinational position to influence, judicial matters concerning, Motorcycle traffic accidents and the handling of them both by police, layers and municipalities Globally as they pay regardless at all levels and this is plural a cost managing exercise, hence always worded in terms of the motorcyclist's fault/ My real issue was the way my wife body was being treated that night, don't forget we were being held there for nearly 8 hrs with Her left laying in the Road, and trying to tell me I couldn't go and sit with Her, what would you be like. Secondly, there was no scene preservation, they actually called out local road crews to clean away the Gravel, while I was sitting with but on a promise not to touch my wife. This was when the Road crews arrived and started cleaning away the Gravel before the crime scene Guys could get there? That was when the fight started, I took their Brooms away broke them and flung them in the Field. There's a lot to this, and I don't want to be a bore, but as long as they can keep this silenced with Single Vercle accident while lying about the real reason's "cost" and motorcyclists are still seen as dispensable until they happen across the odd wrong customer, like me, not only challenging physically, but also qualified, and that was the only reason her daughter got the Miserble $20,000 settlement. If this was in say US courts the settlements would be astronomical and that's what they fear, they still exert their influence down there but do have a harder job thanks to the US Constitution, and not the Feckless, copying of the top-down British legal System. As a point of interest, this is a small group of older established Canadian communities or at least it was! Speaking, to our local Gas station/repair shop /Tow/Truck operators, who by the way were the closest to the scene that night but were never called to take the Bike away. He asked, "Where's your wife today, working"? I replied, no she was killed up the Rd here a few weeks ago on all that Gravel, he quickly added, Oh no was that Her, that's been going on for a while and that he had lost control of his 4 wheel-raised pick-up truck, built for Mudding, Now If he can't keep that on the road, and He's the Tractor Trailer tow truck Son in the business and they had already answered numerous incidents, regarding this Corner and that particular Gravel, Why by the time my wife was basically Murdered, Had something not been done? His accident was also listed as a Single-vehicle accident, and the cause was the same, "Speeding" or driving at speeds unsuitable for the road conditions? usually followed by a ticket, in these incidents speeding tickets are never issued. Now, write me off as just an angry bereaved Husband, and say there isn't something malevolent, to suit their own interests at play here.
