I now have over a thousand rounds through mine. No hick ups at all. I did change the factory guide rod for a Wilson Combat full length guide rod. I only changed it because I like the way full length guid rods look, I did not change it due to failures, just cosmetic. My only complaint about this sig, is the firing pin safety, just a pain in the butt to put it back together. Other than that I just love it, thinking about getting another in the nitron finish. Good video by the way
I was issued a Colt GI when I was in the USArmy so I had a real good idea of what I wanted for my first time owning a 1911. iI love watching these reviews and hearing how happy others are with theirs. I have the same pistol as yours I love mine too..
Way late here but this model is Still the best 1911 available in California…picking mine up real soon..shot it plenty at my local range and dirty as they keep it not one malfunction and I’m accurate w it..great review
your video made me pull the trigger on buying this , cant wait to pick it up. Originally went for cz97, gunstore worker showed me the cz97 with alu grip and tritium nite sights but cant give price since owner is out of town. when i came back, they said its not 4 sale in lefty cali due to gun not in the roster..so I bought this instead, more money, but i think its a wise precious metal investment.
I have that same 1911, almost 500 rounds and shoots great. I feel bad for the people next to me at the range because the empty casings fly towards them, lol. Great, great gun.
im thinking of buying one of these however i heard there was some issues with jamming when they are new?... have you honestly not had any issues? with any ammo firing down the pipe on this model.
Buds had them. I spoke to a retailer and he said they received a shipment last tuesday. It seems like most people received a shipment around that time because they started popping up online. Buds is sold out but I know a few online retailers have some in. Expect to pay about $1000 though .
The rail is just forward of the trigger guard on tte bottom side of the frame that looks like a small Picatinny rail. it is for mounting accessories like a laser, a light or a combination of the two. I use a very powerful LED light on mine for night ir dark condition viability.
Exactly which model is this one ? I been looking for an affordable Sig 1911 and I'm not sure if this is the same one I saw at Bud's Gun Shop....Model # is: 1911RM45SS ?
is this a really reliable gun? Some reviews says it jams. I'm trying to get my first 1911 and I don't want to make a mistake. Is this better than a Kimber or Springfield?
Thanks for your comment. Glad to hear you too are enjoying your Sig 1911.. I too have 500 rounds through mine and not a single hickup! It is a great gun. It is my new favorite and I've owned many and shot many many more. Keep on shooting and be safe.
I've got mine on the way to the FFL. It's hard not to want one of these. I was originally looking at the Ruger SR1911 but the prices are so inflated that I got to thinking "well, for another $100 I could just get a Sig". I hope I made a good choice. We'll see.
Thanks for your reply. Yes you are right. It is not a true Semi Custom. I only categorized it as such to describe the quality of the internal parts, fit and finish. A lot of Semi Customs don't com close to the Sig 1911's. I also stated that it out performed an Ed Brown that day to show how these Match Grade parts performed. It's Semi Custom quality in comercial production and at a lower price.
the trigger is one of the best things about this gun. it it by far one of the best factory triggers I have felt. it breaks clean, very light and no creep. you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Sig Sauer 1911's only have 2 MIM parts. None of which are internal. One is the slide safety lock and the other is slide stop. I agree that it is not a Semi Custom but one thing most people over look is that all Sig 1911's are hand fitted and dehorned and even have the barrel crowned. These are a couple of key precedures in a Semi Custom. The title gets people's attention and that is my goal. to make people aware and give the Sig a second look. Thanks for your comment.
this Sig 1911 is the only 1911 that actually still looks good with a rail on it. All other 1911's i see with rails just look so awkward. I guess its because the slide is squarish on top to match the bottom, but its a great 1911 and very modern looking.
