- Half of our family went to go see Naomi's chamber music concert at Juilliard! It was so fun to see her beautiful concert and we also got to see the school and a couple of our other kids (Pearl and Noah) were there as well! Afterwards we went to get some treats at a bakery called "Paris Baguette". I told the kids to get one treat but a couple of the kids wanted to get an extra treat so they spent their spending money on their extra treat.😅 Then we went home and had some chicken, quinoa, and brussels sprouts. Marc's birthday is tomorrow, so the girls are making daddy a pistachio birthday cake! He loves pistachios! #largefamilylife

That was a splendid performance! I started applauding at the end and had this moment of disjointed reality because I’d forgotten that I wasn’t actually there. I was totally sucked into the music of it!

It's amazing how Naomi gives a concert, and then comes home to bake a birthday cake! I was hoping she would put on an apron..dont want her to mess up that pretty dress. I love Paris Baguette..I go to the one in Time's square..their strawberry croissant is delish!

I love your parenting Amber. The children help each other, walk for miles, are so very well behaved and thoughtful of each other. There are no arguments or tantrums like my family frequently had. Delicious snacks being shared and you remembered the guys at home too! Elijah was fantastic looking after the little ones- he’s a natural and a lovely young gentleman. I’d say Amber and Mark are doing a brilliant job!! ❤

Not knowing a lot about classical music I thoroughly enjoyed watch ing Naomi as I love to see children excel and her passion is obvious you must be very proud ,is the ultimate objective to be accepted to Julliard and to then be accepted in an Orchestra ?my lunchtime smoothie lost its appeal after your bakery visit 😅😅

Do you ever fear that because classical music isn't much of a career path they are being groomed into life skills that won't surve them much when they need to busk on the street to make rent or will the trust fund cover that. I really don't think you gave your children he option to have passion in music and chose it for them. Being really good at something your parents make you do because it's the most exsposure to society you get doesn't end well.
They definitely have a ton of other skills! My son may go to law school after undergrad.❤️
These kids are lovely! You clearly never watch the videos because they have many other skills and are intelligent, interesting, kind and loving. My kids and I love watching their videos. Mark and Amber are doing an amazing job. They both seem like very competent people. I’m sure the kids will turn out very well. Worry about yourself and how harsh & judgmental you’re being. It’s really not nice and unnecessary.

I know you get a lot of hate from trolls who think you are “grooming” your kids (ridiculous I know) but as a classical musician I just want to thank you for setting your kids up for a life where if they WANT to they CAN be professional musicians. So many ppl want to but lack the skills because they didn’t become serious at a young enough age. It’s an insanely competitive career but I can see that your kids truly love it. And if they want to do something else they can. All that to say I’m a big fan and ignore the haters ❤

I totally agree. They are given excellent training in music, and they also benefit greatly from doing the busking even if it might not be their favourite thing. They also do a good range of other things at home like Lego, movies, baking and family time as well as going to see performances. I think that is a good balanced life.
I love how Naomi plays with her whole body! All the children play with such enthusiasm, but she seems to add her own passionate flair to it...must be that fiery red hair (fellow ginger, here❤). Such a beautiful family!

They have to reapply for college but they are more prepared I think through the precollege experience.❤️

Yes! I saw a lot of people that were just stopping by to see them. I imagine the website probably has a list of concerts. The semester is over for now, but they may have a summer program.

Music has so many benefits for kids. Many hospitals play music for patients. It calms them. Sad that many schools have done away with these kinds of things.
Yes! I think it is very expensive for schools to have a music program. But if a school can afford it it is definitely worth the money!

Aw thank you! We used to live in San Diego and most of the kids learned how to play violin, viola or cello using the Suzuki method. Currently we live in NYC so our children can study classical music here.❤️

Watching your family play makes me wish I had learned an instrument I liked and would have stuck with. I wish I had gone to more concerts in college, especially since the music department was down the hall from my dance classes. I'm primarily bed bound so I can't go to concerts. I'm so very blessed to watch your family play online.

The younger kids are free which is nice. I usually pay with my phone. We also sometimes buy paper tickets too.

At the college level, I think statistically it’s 11% Asian-American. But there are also 28% International students, I would imagine many of the international students are also from Asia because they really value classical music. I’m not sure what the pre college demographic is because only colleges report their demographics.
