Running on electric power GWR class 800 IEPS 800003 'Isambard Kingdom Brunel ' and 800004 'Sir Daniel Gooch' power away from Bristol Parkway. Around February 2019.
Let me get this straight. People are always saying IETS are better than a British icon, the fastest diesel train in the world and a very comfortable, fast train I don’t know why people even like IETs, even though they are made of cardboard and glue and they aren’t even made in the country!
Although everyone is entitled to opinions, I don't understand the hate. I feel like if these IETS replaced the Pendolino then they wouldn't be hated nearly as much as there is no denying that speed and acceleration wise they have the HST and 225 sets beat, we don't know what the build quality is like on them yet or how long they will last, they will surely last less time than the HST/225 units but that is not a reason to hate them. I think that at least a large portion of the hate only arrives from them replacing an icon and not because of the trains themselves, it's a biased opinion and I think we should at least see what they are like before jumping to conclusions. Again, just my opinion and if you want to still think the IETS are rubbish, go ahead as that is your opinion too. :)
@@cbawitlife yeah the comfort isn’t to great but unfortunately it’s all down the requirements for safety as if they don’t meet the requirements for dft then they can’t be entered into service
Actually, both are correct. The IEP is the name for all the 800s, 801s, 802s, etc whereas the IET is just the great western units, so some 800s and some 802s.
The seats are like boards with a thin layer of cloth on them and there's no legroom.Give me a 7-car XC HST any day!.....also no proper buffet (just a trolley service!)
IEP = InterCity Express (Programme), one of MANY, MANY names for these trains. S was meant to be lowercase to show there's multiple, in this case two coupled together
That acceleration was pretty impressive,I hope nobody was stood up whilst it was leaving the station otherwise they would have been on their backside.
😂
Everyone sitting down was on their backside when it started moving :)
You acc don't feel it on the train
@@rabianwar6723 LMAO yes, you do.
the acceleration on these things are absolutely savage, I hope no ones coffee spilt!
With this acceleration the IETs are probably capable of 140mph + like the 395s - could come in handy later down the line
They are, however requires In Cab signalling
The Great Western Mainline will be permitted to do 140mph soon.
@@OnTheRailwayOfficial We all want that to happen soon but we gotta hope it don't go the way of the WCML 140mph project
It's high speed between reading and london
@@rabianwar6723 Yh but it's 125mph though. It's high speed from London until around Chippenham minus Swindon and Reading areas.
Class 800 are the coolest great Weston train
That is rapid for such a long train
Excellent 💖💖💖💖💖👍👍👍👍👍

@@joshwaaa I still think they'd still be very hated if they replaced the pendolino as that's the most overrated emu out there
@@ttvvideos2050 Quite possibly, but I do think most of the hate stems from them replacing both the HST and 225 sets as they are so loved by everyone

That IS impersive, but it confuses me why you did not turn around to get the full experince...
Still not as fast acceleartion as a 465/466 networker

yes,
but the comfort of them is criticized EXTREMELY

Can't believe a Great Western Railway was inspired by A TV company Hitachi.
Can't believe you think Hitachi is just a tv company!
@@B-A-L Well that is all i know i wasn't born to know what Hitachi was.
@@mohamedzahed4269 Hitachi isn't just a TV company, they built elevators, machinery, and, TRAINS
Fast but not comfortable
It’s IET
Acording to srivers this acelleration drops of ar about 45, so HSTs will beat them to 125
