  • This video for for all the barbers and stylists who have been asking me for a full FREE tutorial on one of the most popular haircuts that I do in my shop.
Watch as I break down an easy way to do a mid-fade with a side part STEP BY STEP and give a few tips on some of the tricky areas. I am by no means the best fader out there and this isn't going to be super technical but I have found this process to be very reliable and time saving when it comes to providing my clients with a consistently clean and polished look.
    THE BREAKDOWN :
1:14 - The Tools you need
1:45 - The Sides and Back
    3:05 - The Skin Line
    4:00 - The Cutting Plane
    6:30 - Blending
    11:40 - Corner Blending
12:15 - Cleaning the Weight line
    13:15 - Sectioning the top
    13:40 - Top Back Compartment
    15:50 - Top Compartment
    17:35 - Styling
    20:10 - Texturizing
    21:40 - Outlining
    23:00 - Finishing

I don’t like or comment on many vids, but you Sir are a pro. You have actually inspired me to become a barber. I love your tutorials. They are easy to follow and they are set above the rest. Thank you. Keep up the great work. I wish I lived nearby. I would definitely visit your shop. Any advice on barber colleges? There’s a Paul Mitchell MTI college close to me. Any advice would be helpful.

So first off, Matty, this video is just about the most perfect fade tutorial on the UA-cams. However, I just wanted to kindly point out that in the first half, you only faded down to a .5 guard halfway closed, but on the other side you faded all the way down to .5 fully closed. Wanted to make sure everything was even on both sides! 😂
    Peace and good vibes, brotha.

I notice you uses the #1 guard open to fully closed on one side. On the other side you used #1 guard open to half closed. Any particular reason for that?

    • @mattyconradgrooming
      @mattyconradgrooming  3 роки тому +1

I must have screwed that up in editing. I used the same process for both sides. However a #1 guard closed in theory should be the same as a .5 guard open but it almost never is... that’s why it pays to go over it again.
