I live in the country. I had a dog many years ago that could go in my garage through a pet door. The only time he EVER went in the garage was to eat. He wasn't a real long haired dog but he would literally sleep in the sub freezing weather on the ground, even if it was snowing, instead of going in the garage. He was protecting his territory day and night.

Beautiful setting. It's interesting reading comments about the dog. Remember the breeds that are able to handle this cold genetically. Working farm dogs are often the same. I did love the fire made in front of the dog's bed for the night. I do relate to the need to cuddle and hold close. I am like that too. But some breeds are happy outside as long as they have a bed. They do need extra nutrition tho.

Don't mind the peoplecwho whine about the dog. They don't have a clue.
We gave neighbors who have malamutes that stay outside in the cold and snow. They love it, that's the breed.

Interesting tutorial for a hike. It seems to me that if all this ammunition is carried by one person, he can only get a couple of kilometers away from home. On a real hike, you would need at least two people to carry that much ammunition.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed yet, but most humans, especially Americans, seem to put their concern and care for animals far above their fellow humans. People walk by homeless people all day everyday and don’t care but will freak out on a “lost” dog to help it stay warm and well fed until they find the owner or treat it as their child if they’re lucky enough not to find the owner.
I have a Great Pyrenees and she has a doggy door and is allowed to sleep where she wants. She CHOOSES to sleep outside even when it’s well below 0degreeF out. I love her to death but when we go out her job is basically to keep watch and be the first to engage should anything surprise us. She is meant to die first and I love her to death for that.
There is some weird obsession to virtue signal about compassion for dogs that makes people feel morally superior and that is the goal of American culture. To FEEL good, not BE good.

You are right. I've known dogs that prefer to sleep outside and often wake happily with a layer of snow on them!
But, the only thing I'd argue is that people make decisions and have their own free will. But often animals don't, they are dependent on our care. A dog would happily live with another family, and often be a very good companion, if we can help them in that way. As opposed to a homeless person which is often far more complicated. I live around many many homeless people and it's so concerning that I have to shut it off in my mind for my own mental well being, but a homeless dog, I might be able to fix that.
Homelessness is a hugely complex issue probably best not to contaminate a great videos comment section with, and I feel like I'm rambling, sorry. This isn't the place for real discussion anyway, I just couldn't help myself. For some reason I just feel so connected to dogs.
Gotta love a Great Pyrenees! I'm very sorry you feel so negative about America's culture. My experience has been very different, but I've only lived in 4 different states and it's a big country.

You should never leave the spade, axe or tools outside the tent at night as they can be used as weapons against you.
Also pity the window flaps aren’t adjustable from the inside so others can’t control it.
Your best friend definitely needs to be with you in tent. They love being close to us.

I've camped many times with my dogs and they sleep with me inside and we keep us all warm together. I'd never leave my canine pup outside in the cold...that's 'cold.'
I seen some of these I like watching them because they let inside with them but I don't like this one

Your dogs may not like the cold. and my dog doesn’t like closed places, she loves waves, walks at night, this doesn’t mean that I make my dog suffer, I love my dog very much and I do this to make her happy.

His name sounds Pakistani so I was indeed shocked to know that he even has a dog. People in Pakistan don’t need pets as they’re not lonely as we here in the west are where we need a pet to unconditionally love us because we can’t stand people and their conditions lol. Obviously he only needs a dog for protection and the dog is better off with him than being on its own. Different cultures.

I love the outdoors, home steading and all that. But I find this uncomfortable to watch. If I had a dry, warm place to sleep... My dog would be there with me. I wouldn't leave the dog in a cardboard box in the snow. With what sounds like coyotes/wild dogs/wolves around....when I'm leaving a defenceless puppy outside unprotected.
