    HEYY! Did my audition recently, and I got in, which is very exciting! The 3 hour workshop we did was so fun, we got to make up a very abstract piece by choosing random words, from random pages of random plays and books. The zip zap game was so intense, that I actually sprained my knee that day XD. They were holding the auditions at my school which was cool. So I went into the audition room and I was one of the first ones to go; I think I was like third of fourth. They did an interview with me and I told them how much I studied what they do - And that's something yous should remember, to make sure you understand their company and why you are worth gaining a part - I had to sell myself. My monologue was called Fact Checker, and I had to know the name of the play and who wrote it as well as a short synopsis of it; you need to also know who your character is. When I did it, they re directed me at the end a little but told me on the spot that I got in which was so cool ;p

    Hello pals. I'm having lots of messages on Instagram asking for help to pick a monologue. I can't really help because I don't know you all so don't know what type of actor you are. But there are lots of sources online which I use! Such as UA-cam - spotlights UA-cam and the monologue slams UA-cam. Also drama online library and head to the national theatre in London and sit in the bookshop and read plays. Hope that helps. Keep reading!!! X

    I'm so nervous because I'm gonna be auditioning on February and I'm not british, I'm not an english native speaker and I'm 25 years old (my first and last shot to be part of NYT). God, I need some camomile tea!

      I have every faith in you, just signing up should make you feel proud. Just know that on the day you have every right to be there and just do your thing and make yourself proud. Use the nerves for adrenaline but don't let them hold you back xx

    I was wondering what monologue you did exactly from gut girls as in the website it says to avoid accents so I wonder what you did and how you created your character ?! BUT you must be amazing to have got in, literally you inspire me and ur lil story about the sponge is lit still !! :))))

    Thank you so much for this. I am auditioning this year and all the same thoughts are going through my head. This feels really good that I am not the only one thinking this. I am really struggling to find a monologue. What type of monologue should I choose. Should it be funny, sad or something else?

    I have a question: are there people who get in who aren't an English native speaker? I think my English is pretty good (I'm 16 and from Holland), but I think I'm not good enough (I do not have a British accent) to audition. Any tips?

    • @lizziesmith3214
      @lizziesmith3214 5 років тому +2

      NYT allows people of all races, disabilities, circumstances ect. so I'm sure your accent wont be too much of a problem. They told us they want an equal representation of the UK so our multi cultural and lingual society shows that.

    • @gielnw9891
      @gielnw9891 4 роки тому +1

      You can gain an accent automatically by talking more English (in home or with friends?) or you can follow an English speaking course. And of course what Lizzie Smith said is true. (Je kunt automatisch een accent krijgen door veel Engels te praten thuis of met vrienden, of door een Engelse cursus spreken te volgen). :)

      Hi RHIAL TALK I was just wondering if I could please ask about your monologue. I am doing a monologue and it does get emotional and I just wondered how did you perform the emotional part please. Thank you

    • @rhiannamerralls9096
      @rhiannamerralls9096  6 років тому

      Cassie Fonth I don't think I really had a technique, I just took my time and remembered how heartbreaking the situation I was in was, so I just allowed myself to feel the emotions x
