Smackbound is a metal band from Finland. The band's story started back in 2015 when singer Netta Laurenne founded the group. Guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari (Wintersun) was the first to join the lines and soon followed Rolf Pilve (Stratovarius + Wintersun), Vili Itäpelto (Tracedawn) and Tuomas Yli-Jaskari (Tracedawn). The band started writing their own songs and founded also a cover band "Run for Cover" to be able to play together right away. They have played a lot of gigs with RfC and this way have been getting ready for Smackbound's launch.
Wall of Silence is the second single release of Smackbound's upcoming album. It is a song of great force, talking about miscommunication between people and the mistake of not being honest to one another. It happens ever so often that people lose each other by simply not speaking out their true feelings and thoughts. We are prone to overthink and out of fear we walk away leaving behind only questions, lies and silence. Wall of Silence tells how it feels to experience this kind of violence.
Song was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios, produced by Tuomas Yli-Jaskari, mixed by Jesse Vainio and mastered by Svante Forsbäck/Chartmakers. The video was directed by Owe Lingvall/Dreamday Media.

It is so sad that "nobody" knows Netta Laurenne. She should be performing all around the world. She has a lot of great videos and awesome cover songs.

They are amazing band. Guitarist is Teemu Mäntysaari (Wintersun) and drummer is Rolf Pilve (Stratovarius), Netta is amazing, her graspy sound is unique. Try The Game from them, it's very emotional song.

Great recation! Your faces were just great! Smackbound are a great band. Neta, the singer is I not only a singer but a song writer and actress! The next song you should try is "Drive it like you stole it!" Plus she has done an album with Noora from Battle beast! So you know it is going to be great!
Yesss! I've been waiting a loooong time for this. For some of u "heavy hitters" of metal reactions finally reacts to Smackbound. They've done only 1 album, so as a debut it was crazy good. Bec of covid they couldn't do tours so they are now making their 2nd album. Btw, singer Netta hosted our national weekly lottery as well, but I'd say with Smackbound she really hit the jackpot

Finland Metal... Taking the World by Storm..
Such a unique band. And Netta i's defenitely one of the most underrated female powerhouses in rock/metal. Discovered her and Smackbound after hearing her on Magnus Karlsson latest project along with
Battlebeast's Noora and Adrienne from Seven Spires (another awesome singer/band!) and several other female vocalists.
Other great Smackbound songs are Drive it like you stole it, Run and the beautifull ballad The game.
Also love the lockdown sessions with a couple of great covers (Yngwie Malmsteen, Whitesnake,...)
And as mentioned here she did an album with Noora, only heard the single Bitch fire so far but no surprise there....they sound great together!

Absolutely LOVE Smackbound! Thank you for finally reacting to them. It’s almost criminal how so freaking underrated Netta Laurenne is as a vocalist. The entire record is amazing. This song is my favorite, followed by Run. You guys definitely have to check out more of this band.
This is freaking awesome. Smackbound deserves to be more known all around the world. Every member is talented musician. This band has released one album this far in 2020 called "20/20" and it is amazing. It has heavy straight in your face songs like this but also heart-wrenching ballads like "The Game" and everything in between. Well worth to check out.
