It was considerably colder outside this morning (7 degrees C) so rather than actually go out where the cold would effect the Co2, I shot (controversially for some) from within my bedroom and out of the window, down to my concrete bunker trap. Now, I was well set back at the other side of the room, for one thing, obscuring me completely from view of surrounding houses, and also enlarging the distance shot. Now approximately 25 meters. There was a beer can in the bunker left from a previous attempt with the failed first SMLE, this was my target. Loaded up the first mag, I had to aim a little high to get shots on target, but I was able to hit said beer can numerous times, I was standing unsupported. On to the second mag....third mag.... fourth... and on again to actually be able to hit the beercan probably 45% of the time through six...yes... six... whole mags at 25 meters.. I had expected power drop off to render this impossible. I did have to slowly lower POA through the shot count so eventually I was POA to POI more or less, given about a maximum 8" spread at this range with fliers, but knock me down with a feather!. Considering this rifle was quoted by the distributor as getting 2 mags out of one Co2, this has surprised me completely. I suppose in hindsight, given the Chrono figures I got, the last mag puts out a similar fps as my Hellboy M4 on it's first mag, so more than enough umph to get those little steel balls down to that range. The power consistancy of the gun is impressive, dropping approximatley only 100fps+/- through the entire shot count, which stands at a healthy 90 shots at between 500 and 400 fps. I would say that it's best range for use would be 6yds to 10 meters for more consistant accuracy, but for more of a challenge can blatting at 15 to 20 meters is very much possible. I dare say had I tried a 7th mag, the BBs wouldn't have made it out of the window, there was very little Co2 left on removing the cylinder.

@Dylan: Not exactly Dylan, Mr Lee only developed the bolt action, everything else was developed at the Enfield small arms factory. It IS Lee's bolt design that makes it the best bolt action battle rifle ever made though!
Very nice looking replica. I always wanted a Crossman M1 carbine replica BB shooter back in the 1970s, now they are as rare as hen's teeth. This is nice, and a good review!
Purchased one on November, unfortunately when i put the co2 in mag it leaked out through a faulty seal. Hopefully theres no issues with its replacement mag. Fantastic rifle bar that issue.
Sorry to hear this, sounds like you may have had one of original mags .First batch were horrendous , they have since upgraded mags.so far no issues to report. Hope u got yours sorted .
I have the Gel Blaster version here in Australia ( firearms licence required for BB ). Is the Mag the same ? I wouldn’t mind getting a spare, You are correct about the mag dropping like a stone, I have already damaged the Co2 bulb grubscrew :-(
it is an Air rifle... it fires steel BBs but is still nonetheless, an Air rifle. And my guess is that they used the Denix as the basis for their design, as all the visual innacuracies of the Denix appear in this Airgun.
Nice replica , not 1-1 scale copy though but not bad , detail around the bolt and cycling action area, its not quite right , bolt throw to short ,. Would possibly be better as an under lever air rifle at that price ?
Making it an underlever would take something away from the shooting experience. But at that price it's a pity they didn't make it a full power, twin co2 pellet rifle.
It may have used the blueprints, but things like the area around the nosecap are very different to the original (which wasn't in use from 1895 - the SMLE didn't enter service in Mk. I form until 1904. It's not bad, but it wouldn't really work for a WW1 or WW2 re-enactor, which is a shame as it's nearly close enough. I presume a re-enactor could get a deactivated one, but that will look like a 100 year old rifle when in WW1, at least, they'd have been brand new when issued.
@ W Bertie: Wouldn't have to look 100 years old though, I have a de-act 1914 No1 Mk111 (LSA) which had obviously been through two world wars and God knows what else! I then spent about three years re-building her to the original factory condition, (nose cap WITH the piling swivel attached, windage sight, button cocking piece, front and rear Volley sights and rear sight wings with the milled out centre, replacing all the Mk111* pieces which had replaced the originals during her service life. She'd gone from "EY" meaning emergency live firing only - and that was on her second barrel - to full "DP". I stripped the receiver section back to bare metal and re-blued. The most delicate part was routering out the wood stock for the volley sights!) At the end I have an 'almost new' looking SMLE. I only wish she could still chamber and eject cartridges - damn you stupid de-act laws!!!
Personally, I don't think they even used a real SMLE, but the Denix replica as a basis, as all the visual inaccuracies on the Airgun, can be found on the Denix. They certainly did not, use the SMLE "blueprints".

I bought my first ever rifle with my own money from you guys, it was a Mauser SR Tactical which apparently has been discontinued now. The day it arrived i took it out of the box, the stock was marked like it had been used several times and the Mauser logo on it was not there as it was advertised, even on the box, turns out it was an SMK but with a Mauser synthetic stock. I'm not going to say i regret buying it because it's a great little rifle, but i feel it was falsely advertised, price was dropped from about £280 to £175 and with me thinking it was a mauser rifle i jumped on it. I'm not annoyed, just disappointed...

Why show me so little respect for a reasonable suggestion, after all, I could have just sworn at you right from the start, but no, it was YOU that started with the name calling to an opinion. Having it as a BB seems like it's aimed at the very low end of the market, almost a kids gun, but with a huge historical foundation and price that would, I expect, only be appreciated by an adult market? can anyone answer this question: does the bolt lie close to the body of the rifle, or does it stick straight out at 90 degrees? It was difficult to see from this video. I thought this was an innacuracy in the design, but looking at the video again, I'm not sure.
Having owned a deactivated No1 MkIII deac some years ago and still owning a No4 Mk1* now I'm afraid to say that this looks awful. the furniture especially at the front behind the muzzle cap and stacking swivel is completely wrong. It just looks cheap and nasty.
I definitely agree, I have a real enfield that I shoot quite often, I can say that the bolt action especially looks very cheap, the bolt handle isn't even bent downwards like a real enfield, so the bolt looks more like a mosin bolt, and it looks very stiff and clunky, if you've ever shot an enfield or worked the bolt of a deactivated enfield, you'll know that they are incredibly smooth and feel great.
@@mikesabz I have one, but it's got amazing real 1970,s SVD dark wood furniture, but the main body of the gun is going to be getting gutted with a demel and I'm dropping in the action of a CP2 with long barrel. Then placing asthetics back over . Don't worry i only butchered a cheaper A&k model not an ace WE haha
The mosin nagant 1944 rifle has a real bayonet, and looks the bizz which is also a replica air rifle . Shame they couldn't replica the same.on this bad boy .
I would hazzard that they actually used the Denix replica as a base for the design as opposed to the real thing, as all the visual innacuracies of the Denix appear on this model.
Its 'almost' an SMLE but not quite! The rear sight is supposed to have a pair of wooden 'wings' surrounding it which were a part of the wooden top furniture (and no big screws set behind it) but the worst looking part is the metal nose cap which is supposed to be flush with the underside of the wooden forestock, the one on this replica is too thin looking. Maybe it was done deliberately so a police sniper aiming for a suspected gunman could recognise it was 'just' an air rifle!
Yes, that must be it. Police marksmen are at a tense hostage incident... Sniper: "Sniper 1-1. Target acquired!" Control: "Green light!" Spotter: "No, wait! The nose cap on his No. 1 rifle is a couple of millimetres recessed, and the backsights look funny. It's a toy gun! Abort!" BOOM! Sniper: "Oops!" 😃 He said they used blueprints to design this. They might have used S.A.I.D. 2662 in the Royal Armouries which does show the nose cap recessed.
They started well at the brass but plate, got slightly bored by the time they got to the action, then looking at the front end ie barrel make up.... well, looks like they gave up. anyone who knows there firearms knows this is not accurate to the MM like the video says. better to make no replica than a bad one.
Maybe it's just the tone on the screen but I don't like the colour. I have a 1916 Lee Enfield, deactivated, it has a much richer and darker tone. By the way in which you are handling the rifle, mine is a lot heavier.
Very nice, but it would be better if it was full power (12ft/lb), rifled barrel, in .177 or .22 and HALF the price, it's very expensive for something that's not very powerful or accurate beyond spitting distance
No pleasing some people I guess 😅 yes it would be better but I don't think you buy a lee enfield replica to go out hunting with , it's a plinking replica that is a piece of honestly to own in my humble opinion. Plus it's the fastest selling air rifle I have ever had in stock. Half the price is.a little excessive when you look at what's out there priced similarly. But we are all different and I welcome your opinion , thank you Steve 😊

Yeah, who needs a Dragunov when you can have a rattly old antique firing dodgy Pakistani ammo? I bet the other Terrys all laugh into their pakols if anybody rocks up with one of those.
I can’t understand why they made such a nice rifle then used pathetic co2 capsules it should of had a large air cylinder hidden under the barrel or in the butt. I am almost tempted to buy one and try and convert it myself I would also try and fit an original 303 sniper sight, gutted they nearly got it right just those two things missing proper air tank and a replica brass scope maybe someone else will do it right.

Very nice looking replica. I always wanted a Crossman M1 carbine replica BB shooter back in the 1970s, now they are as rare as hen's teeth. This is nice, and a good review!

Just ordered one. No idea when it'll arrive into the shop though. I've heard some people say September 😩
I wouldn’t mind getting a spare, You are correct about the mag dropping like a stone, I have already damaged the Co2 bulb grubscrew :-(
Hi, sorry no idea what mags your using or if same sorry . The second batch have all had improved mags so no issues anymore.
Hope yours is good 👍

@@grumpycalenzana7514 Tiny mind comments irrelevant once again.
it is an Air rifle... it fires steel BBs but is still nonetheless, an Air rifle. And my guess is that they used the Denix as the basis for their design, as all the visual innacuracies of the Denix appear in this Airgun.

Will the Lee Enfield SMLE be available in the U.S.?
Holly cow! This thing available in canada? Really nice! Good review mate!
I have the same question, what a coincidence
Nice replica , not 1-1 scale copy though but not bad , detail around the bolt and cycling action area, its not quite right , bolt throw to short ,. Would possibly be better as an under lever air rifle at that price ?
Making it an underlever would take something away from the shooting experience. But at that price it's a pity they didn't make it a full power, twin co2 pellet rifle.
That rifle looks fantastic it would look great with the wood aged a little 👍
It may have used the blueprints, but things like the area around the nosecap are very different to the original (which wasn't in use from 1895 - the SMLE didn't enter service in Mk.
In 1963, when I lived in Il., just Northwest of Chicago, I could have bought , by mail order, the real ting for about $29.00. I think I remember the original 308 muzzel velosity at about 2,900 ftp
Is this available In the US?
Funny you never mentioned this before ? No idea what a mauser tactical is ? Drop me an email at cardigansports@hotmail.com .but u either have wrong company or telling porkie pies .

Should have done it as a sub 12 PCP at the very least !!
hmmmm yea as that would really work ;)
@@mikesabz Yes, silly me, cos they don't make air rifles in PCP at sub12 fp do they ;)
@@mikesabz I am fully aware it is a BB, I'm not blind (or a 'plonker')! I said in case you can't read, 'Should have done it as a sub 12 PCP'. That means they should have made it from the get go as a PCP! Why have such a nice rifle with so little power, as it clearly is not aimed at kids with no money!
I'd have thought adults would want to at the very least have the accuracy and grouping at a reasonable distance. If I were spending this sort of money, I'd want something better than plinking tin cans in the garden. And yes, I do own many firearms including air and FAC, I've also won a few big firearms target comps, so I'm NOT a 'plonker' !!
Just an opinion.

In 1964, I joined the TA and they were still using the SMLE, the first time I fired one was at LYD ranges, some of the 'old sweats' could fire what was called a 'mad minute', using the finger and thumb to operate the bolt and the middle finger on the trigger, keeping the in the shoulder. Can this be done with this rifle, not the 15 or 20 aimed shots but operating the bolt with finger and thumb and fire with the middle finger?

Can a scope be mounted?

There is something not right at the muzzle end. That step in the stock is not there on many shots I have seen of the real thing.
Target acquired!"
Control: "Green light!"
Spotter: "No, wait! The nose cap on his No. 1 rifle is a couple of millimetres recessed, and the backsights look funny. It's a toy gun! Abort!"
BOOM!
Sniper: "Oops!" 😃
He said they used blueprints to design this. They might have used S.A.I.D. 2662 in the Royal Armouries which does show the nose cap recessed.
