I have spent 27 years trying to teach in Asia. There is no real education in any Asian country since it is simply memorizing . Students are not allowed to think or ask questions in class. Korea is the worst with Singapore the least worst. There has been some improvement but a long way to go.

Its pretty bloody good in almost all the states, especially the east coast our education system does actually pretty fucking good compared to the rest of the world, the problem is unlike many western countries rural areas arent so isolated and hard to educate therefore we have many sectors where education falls down. Yet nearly all the major East Coast Universities rank as some of the best in the world and our schooling goes pretty bloody well for most people.
To be honest i don't like South Korean and Japanese Education model. It is too difficult for average students. Only 2~5% of students may survive in mathematics. But one good thing is South Korean teachers are mostly well educated and the payment is quite high. It's very difficult to be a school teacher in South Korea. Level of east asian universities are quite disappointing. US and UK have probably the best universities in the world. Top students of east asian countries get their graduate school degrees in English using countries. It makes east asian universities weak.
