I am surprised to see the USA in 3rd place. Almost nobody here knows geography, most high school students don't even know the multiplication chart, and they have to use calculators. In the SAT, the students are given all the formulas that they will need to solve geometry problems. The grades do not really depend on what the students know but on what they complete on a daily basis. The classwork has more weight than the tests. The kids get to college without knowing the parts of a sentence properly. You can be an average student, but if you complete all the classwork and use your notes for the tests, you will end up with an A, which is the highest grade (A, A+). Many schools have a lot of substitute teachers because many teachers have left the education system. The American system flexes on monolingualism instead of multilingualism. Many kids that do not speak English are placed in all-English classrooms and are left there without the proper support; they have to either sink or swim. Many bilingual schools are bilingual in name only because they teach from a monolingual perspective. I know all this because I work in a school and because I served in different public schools as a substitute teacher before I got hired full-time. Here, we have a lot of foreign language teachers that are Americans and do not really speak the foreign language well. Sometimes, all you need to teach a foreign language is a minor in the language you want to teach. I have seen a lot of Spanish teachers that are not able to hold a real conversation in Spanish, but as long as they have the required licenses and endorsements for teaching, they are fine. That is what counts here. In a lot of bilingual schools, not even one member of the administration is bilingual, nor do they know anything about bilingual teaching and how the bilingual kids learn. This country is full of poor areas with many low-income families, whose kids even sell prohibited substances in the schools. Whoever said that the USA has one of the best education systems in the world needs to do more research.
I'm fine with the SAT providing student with a formula sheet. Most of those formulas will rarely ever be used outside of an academic context. It allows the test to focus on a student's problem solving abilities and let's be honest just because you memorize all the formulas on the sheet doesn't mean you can actually solve any problem that require them. Furthermore, in university it's more important to remember a few key principle and referencing complementary material when necessary.
I feel, the educational system must be judged on the basis of what kind of human beings( benovalant, creative & hardworking folks) they eventually create. As a country, it seems Japan, Denmark, other Scandinavian countries, Canada & newzealand have achieved this.
@@TomM60, you obviously don’t live in one of the countries on the list. In Denmark, education is free from kindergarten up through university for everyone. You don’t need wealthy parents to pay your way through school. Common sense, critical thinking and learning to think for yourself is part of our educational system. I feel so blessed and grateful today that my American mother decided to stay in the Nordic countries with her Scandinavian kids (my dad was Danish) and that I did not have to face an American school system.
Watching this fom india, i love my country but hate the education system. In india from first grade to 10th grade we study twelve subjects and sit eight hours in school, and if you don't pay fees they insult you in front of class and the attitude of teachers is like if you fail in exam you fail in life. We don't have comfortable benches and on one bench 4 students have to sit for eight hours. There is also no air conditioning only we have to depend on fan, if we had powercut then we should bear the heat, most schools have no generators. We have english medium schools you will get punishment just for speaking in mother tounge. Our government launched new education policy but still now only few schools have accepted it😢😢. I hope we have a better future.
How can the US be 3 their system stinks. You have very poor schools and art and music is no longer taught because they can’t afford it yet will spend 1000s on football. If they were so well educated Trump would not be president
Education in the USA is actually a for-profit business lol If they only account private institutions maybe USA can be included in the list. But if we are talking about USA's public education system, it shouldn't be in the list because it reeks of garbage.
This study is wrong! The US ranking should be far lower than 3. The public system is desperately underfunded, deserving students are unable to afford higher education, the teachers in some states are unqualified, and many people leave school illiterate (in their own language!) and unqualified for any employment better than “jo-jobs”, i.e., working at MacDonalds and similar places. Generally, Americans no NO foreign languages, geography or history except that of their own country. The system is far below that of Canada, which was ranked 13th!

Since when has a great scientist or doctor come out of England? That was the past now the only thing that matters in England is cheap labor and a person can't be smart to work for that. If they keep the bulk of the students stupid they are easily controlled and from the laws passed in the last ten years in the UK it just proves how stupid the people have become.

Indian education system is worst... Bcoz, here ppl want our marks not our skills.. Here we are jus getting graduation in the name of education and we are deprived of practical knowledge☹️
The placement of the US anywhere near a top 10 shows that the producers of this video have been heavily influenced by the USA. On PISA measures the US has been falling for decades. The US has created one of the most inequitable education systems in the world by creating a marketised system in which the rich get to put their children in elite schools while those of lower socio-economic standing are left to the crumbling, underfunded public system. The US also has a fascination with testing that is undermining of a love of lifelong learning for the majority of students.
Whoever came up with this educational grading system has a problem because several of the countries listed in the top ten don't belong any where near the top that they are listed in. There are countries not even mentioned on this list where university graduates come from that are wanted all over the world to teach in their higher educational environment. That tells me this list is full of holes and nothing but more online BS.

We have been trying to copy 1st worlds for so long so why cant we copy their education system....ughh
Whoever said that the USA has one of the best education systems in the world needs to do more research.
thanks for the information sir
btw love from india 🇮🇳❤
I'm fine with the SAT providing student with a formula sheet. Most of those formulas will rarely ever be used outside of an academic context. It allows the test to focus on a student's problem solving abilities and let's be honest just because you memorize all the formulas on the sheet doesn't mean you can actually solve any problem that require them. Furthermore, in university it's more important to remember a few key principle and referencing complementary material when necessary.
And they voted a convicted felon for president 😂😂
I feel, the educational system must be judged on the basis of what kind of human beings( benovalant, creative & hardworking folks) they eventually create. As a country, it seems Japan, Denmark, other Scandinavian countries, Canada & newzealand have achieved this.
As a German I agree 100%!
No they haven't. This list is a fallacy.

@@srijitm8760 India is degrading from bad to worst year by year :) lol

Education in the USA is actually a for-profit business lol
If they only account private institutions maybe USA can be included in the list. But if we are talking about USA's public education system, it shouldn't be in the list because it reeks of garbage.
Education becomes Business
In Iraq And Usa
So Sad............

@@yoursubconscious He mentioned the World Economic Forum, so it may depend on the opinions of rich people or businessmen.
UK is 13 Canada is 11 but your right let reverse it right ;)

Why is United Kindgom not in the list, with universities like Cambridge and other famous ones?
The UK was no. 13 on the list. Scotland and England are very different, but if the list took that into account they would have consider American states and German Länder separately too.
Education is broader than what this video focuses on. If you talk about K-12 education, then yes, US and UK are not as high. But if you talk about University education, US and UK are at the top.

The US is just so vast. It really depends on where you happen to be born/grow up. I'm from one of the Southern states and while there are some good schools overall we fail so far behind some other states entirely. And you basically are screwed if you live in a rural area. According to the results of studies (PISA-2018, TIMSS-2019, PIRLS-2011, ICILS-2013), based on the average score of students, the best school education systems in the world are:

3. Republic of Korea - 556 points
4. Japan - 554 points
5. Finland - 532 points

- PISA - International Student Assessment Program
- PIRLS - International Study of the Quality of Reading and Comprehension of Text
- TIMSS - International Study of the Quality of Mathematics and Science Education
- ICILS - International Study of Computer and Information Literacy
TOP-10 in terms of the total number of gold medals at international olympiads in mathematics, physics and chemistry is as follows:

8. Germany - 123
9. Vietnam - 120

International Student Olympiads are actually the only objective tool for comparing the competitiveness of university students at the global level. Unlike school education, there is no global student assessment systems like PISA, ILSA or PIRLS.

This is incorrect, the USA most certainly does not have a good education system. Also where is the UK? The UK’s education system has been number 1 many times and has always been considered to be one of the best, yet you haven’t placed it in the “top 10”, fake video, do some research.
The UK has some of the best but overall levels are terrible.

I don't believe the number 3...US what¿???????
Hi I am Arkan.
