The language Palee/ Pali as stated in this video was one of the many "Prakrit" languages originated from the most developed and scientific Indo-Aryan language Sanskrit. The Prakriti are spoken and written in different forms through out India particularly in medieval India by the common people reason being the writing and speaking pure sanskrit was of the elites and it required massive training. The Hindus caste based society forbidden common and lower caste people to study religious scripts as a result Prakrits were born in different forms in India incorporating the regional languages used by the then tribes and natives of India.Today these are different mother tongues of different regions or states of India but you may find the imprints of sanskrit in these languages. Pali or Palee may be one such language was being used in entire Magadh Empire prior to Ashok or you may count from the day of Jarasandh. The entire region of Easrern U.P. Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal and Odisha formerly known as Anga Banga Kaling and Koshal were neighbouring Janapada and were under the one rule of Magadh and their common language might be Pali. As Goutam Budha preached his philosophy mostly in this region he might have used the language Palee the common language of the common people of Magadh kingdoms. Hence if any body says Pali is Magadhi, there is no harm in it.Today we find many similarities in the languages of Hindi Maithili Bhojpuri Bengali Odia and Asamee particularly the in the languages mostly spoken in Hindi belt and Eastern India. They are of more resemblance to Pali languages for they fail to contains pure sanskrit scripts of Devanagay or the proper Phonetics of Sanskrit but in practice more alike to Pali. The Rama Charitas Manas and other epics written in regional languages are examples. "Katha Sarita Sagar" the Arbian Niights of India of India by Somadutt also reminded us in its introduction regarding the Origin of Prakrut the language of Pisach or the uncultured forbidden to use Sanskrit.Lastly languages are like rivers which change shape and tract but are always useful to us to be educated and cultured and instruct us to continue the march forward on the path of relay race of the human kinds to gather wisdom that is helpful for peaceful living. We are fortunate that the language Pali has given us many fountains of wisdom through the scriptures edited by the Budhist scholars.
