Regarding Sam's helmet ventilation, check out his visor. It appears modified with a cutout. For reference, there's an image of the full visor Sept 27th, '24 on Triathlete Magazine online. There's also various iterations of the Specialized TT 5 visor.
What was his time? And average pace? I know I can google but you just said he smashed it. Also what are those handle looking things at the front of the bike? Below the top tube. Otherwise great video!
Super Swim, Super Ride . . . you still have to RUN 26.2 MILES! There are no prizes for fastest swim, fastest ride, or fastest run. Crossing the finish line is boss!
The fastest bike needs teh fittest biker. Many other bike setups are way faster, yet the rider is slower - much to debate about the fastest bike vs the quickest setup. Too many variants. Therefore, it is not a great review.
You can’t swim with calf guards in a non wetsuit swim. A few guys went with tape, that they can have on their legs in the swim, to save the time in t1 not putting a calf guard on their legs. They of course must have some idea how aero it was compared to calf sleeves.
