I posted some card tips below, and as for some refining tips, if you're looking to get strong at low level, you can have 100 Tornados junctioned to Strength before you even take the SeeD Candidate Mission at Dollet. Abyss Worm card refines into a Windmill which is 20 Tornados if I'm not incorrect, with Quezocoatl's Lightning/Wind refine. Dynamo Stones become Thundaga, which junctioned to E-Atk makes farming the robo-spider a breeze.
Just a side note for those who still play this, you can get all the materials you need before even completing the seed mission. If you are good with triple triad, the guy who watches the entrance of balamb garden has all the cards you need. He's easier imo than zells mother, and he has an elynoyle in almost every hand. within 2 hours of playing card games, i had everything i needed to make lionheart.
@@unkommentiertesgameplay Asking the real questions here XD But it IS interesting to me as well. I played it first 23 years ago and loved it beyond believe. I have the Lionheart BEFORE taking control of Laguna at the second time, playing at ps2 with original cd's. (I'm talking about AFTER Timber) You do not need weapons monthly first issue. You must have the items needed. AFTER THE BALL DANCE AND BEFORE TIMBER: 1) Play cards in Balamb Garden and get 20 Elnoyle cards or when you have control of Laguna at the second time, fight Elastoid and mug 1 Lazer Cannon which you can refine into 5 Pulse Ammo. You need 3 of them. (Notice that you must already have Diablos with Mug ability and being above 30 levels. Also notice that monsters level up as you do). --- (I love playing cards) :) I played with Cid after the Ball. You can find him at 3rd floor. Or with doctor Kadowaki. 2) Refine 20 Elnoyle cards into 2 Energy Crystals (if i remember correctly i used Sirens' Tool-RF ability). Using Ifrits' Ammo-RF refine them into 20 Pulse Ammo (1 Energy Crystal=10 Pulse Ammo) or 3 Lazer Cannons into 15 Pulse Ammo. Lionheart needs 12 Pulse Ammo. 3) Dragon Fangs. T-Rexaur gives you 6 Dragon Fangs at the training center, or into the forests, outside Ifrits' cave. DO NOT Mug him. 4) Adamantine. You can find Adamantoise near Dollet Forest at the beach. DO NOT mug him. He sometimes drops Adamantine. 5) After having 12 Pulse Ammo, 4 Dragon Fangs and 1 Adamantine, you can remodel your weapon into Lion Heart.
Actually, there's Elastoids that you can mug Laser Cannons from, which refine into Pulse Ammo. However, that's in the 2nd Laguna flashback. If you don't get them there then you have to farm the Elnoyle cards. Problem is, You need to be level 30 or higher for the Elastoids to drop it. Which means you can't encounter the Grendel unless you do it before the flashback, which I don't think is actually possible.
+OperationDEEZ The best way that I dealt with this issue is that even though I had Squall and company at Level 30 to get the Elastoid's Laser Cannons, when I got out of the Laguna dream, I switched to my weaker characters that didn't break Level 20 yet. This is very risky, but you can then find Grendels below level 20 and up. Just be sure that you are well guarded.
+OperationDEEZ Level 20 Grendels will still spawn after you've reached level 30. Just like how level 86 Adamantoise spawn when you're level 100 in addition to level 100 Adamantoise. Enemies will spawn on your current level tier and one tier below, just not above. Hope this helps. You can still fight level 20 Grendels after you've fought level 30 Elastoids in the Laguna dream sequence as long as you aren't significantly higher leveled than 30.
Guys just keep 2 people at lowest possible level them level up ther ones for the dream make the average 30 and you can do the dream part then after go back and switch them to the lower people making the average now less then 30 and bam
I had a friend do something similar but around lvl 40. I thought that was a horrible Idea because there were GF abilities that become available later in the game that offered attributes bonuses at level up. So if your at a high level when these perks become available you won't be able to use them to their full potential due to the leveling cap at 100
Heh, I did this once a long time. I was flipping through the guide one day, when I noticed that just about all of the Lionheart ingredients could be refined or dropped from fairly early enemies. So just out of mobbed curiosity I tried to see how early could you collect them all. I remember getting very excited by Zell's mother having the Elnoyle when I was going for the Zell card. And that's when I decided to give it a go. I had to do a lot of refining though, and it took over a dozen hours to get everything. Your methods a lot more sensible, that's for sure. 20 Elnoyle cards was one of my more reasonable steps. Now Dragon Fangs from Trexuars took FOREVER!!!
I remember playing this game when I was a kid and never would've thought this would be achievable. I commend you good sir. Now I'll be using this for the remaster
i remember that this was the first rpg that i've played, before they all looks bored pieces of shit to me, but with this game totally change my opinion about the genre. What memories, the landing, the epic opening, ultimecia, my childhood....i love this game. I finish it in 104 hours, i still remember that.
104 hrs wow that''s to pretty long to finish the game, well it only took me 55 hrs with a big help from gamepro hahaha but i still suck at the chicobo quest lol
Rex Herrera I like to experience every part of these games... I've probably spent over 200 hours on FFX -- got to the end area a few years ago then didn't feel like finishing the game yet, so I went back to an earlier save and started (slowly) maxing stats in the monster arena... still never bothered to finish the game.
+Rex Herrera Lol I've sunk 50+ hours into disc 1 alone :/ only just got irvine in my party. 90% of that is playing cards. I'm in no rush to complete the game. I completed it as a kid 15+ years ago. This time around I'm breaking the game. although its pretty broken already with my characters being op as. level 14 and under, untouchable :)
it was my first rpg as well. i was a noob 9000. i played for days until i discoverd what g.f. means ( i was not sure what it is, so i did not klicked it in battles. ) the moment i chosed my first g.f. i was like what fhe fuck is going on on the tv screen????!!! o.O it as so hilarious xD. also i was like: what is an item? what is a potion? what is draw?.. i got to adele with that noobish play but i had a hard time and two hours until i beat here/it. artemisia was no chance. i understood the leveling system on the second try, beginning from beginning. but the result was, that i was totaly overskilled xD. all 99, almost everything on 245. all weapons, all best magic. adel was in a few seconds or minutes and artemusia, beaten in the third round or something.
You circumvent every limit break from all the other weapons... fantastic... That one where he strikes from the atmosphere of the earth took FOREVER to complete...
Forget my previous question, I found the answer. To everyone who wants to do that, you need to collect the Elnoyle cards before you take the train to Timber or you can´t get the Lion Heart. The right order is like this: Elnoyle cards --> Dragon fang --> defeat the Brothers Also, getting the Elnoyle cards from the headmaster Cid is faster as from Xell´s mother.
gotta miss that overworld map music. the hours i spent running around it after school every afternoon. then after having my fill of ff8, moving on to play symphony of the night while hearing 'dance of the pales'. oh the memories.
I see FF10 being hyped more and more over the years, and those same people (sometimes not, though) trash FF8... For me its completely the opposite. FF 8 was a fantastic game, Squall's character development was the best, every part of it was awesome. 10, on the other hand.. I can't see, why anyone likes it.
Adamantine from Adamantoise found in a beach near Dollet. Pulse Ammo can indeed be acquired through card games. Its best to win strong cards at the beginning of the game plus change the rules to "All" so you can easily acquire more cards fodder cards while you're at it.
from the start, having it's limit break makes the rest of the game significantly easier. As you know, the Lionheart limit does upwards 100k damage, at max level, at the level your getting it at, on disk one, you are only doing 3-5k damage, but that is still INSANE for the point of the game your at.
Not only can you get the strongest weapon on the first disk, the way the adaptive levelling works you can easily get to level 99 before leaving balamb garden.
Thank you for this epic video on how to obtain Lionheart on the first disc! I found this by interest and boredom and it intrigued me. Great Work; A+ work and video, in my opinion
Yeah no everyone knows Cloud stomps Chris he can't even do lion heart on command omnislash however can be used infinitely with mime materia 7 remake will make chris forever irrelevent
I did this some time ago and let me tell you, it's not worth the hassle. Getting the 20 Elnoyle cards is a pain in the @SS. The balamb garden gate area is imprinted into my brain and it gives me the shivers every time I walk by.
@@yurifan122894 I know the power of the cards, but getting 20 Elnoyle cards isn't worth the hassle. Just wait and get farther into the game, the Lion Heart doesn't make that much of a difference to make the game any easier, just knowing what your doing does the same thing.
same bro. ff8 reminds me of a time when I was just becoming an adolescent, and discovering the real world... back when I could easily escape the real world into my sanctuary with my family and forget about everything. I wish I could go back.
actually you can get everyone's final weapons even earlier, but it requires alot more time. there's a kid in Balam Garden running around the elevator. i believe he wears a blue shirt he has all the cards needed to make everyone's final weapons. i did this before took me over 10 hours of card playing; and about 1 hour of prep time(to get cards like mog and card mod grats rare card mod)
Dean D and easier way to get higher tier cards is to go change grats(mob) into cards and get lucky you get a rare card. a simple method i use is, to use the sleep spell and keep trying; if you're really lucky you can get a rare card from the t-rex in the jungle. then you can go for the beach and get some fish cards. the glacier mob is near the mountians. been really long so i have forgotten their names
I never knew that about the card trick to obtain pulse ammo. Well spotted. I always thought it was impossible to get the lion heart on disk 1 because of the energy crystals you need to make pulse ammo. I always thought that was the only way to make pulse ammo. I've played this game over a dozen times as well. You learn something new every time XD.
i have steam version with hd mods, music mods,hd battle mods, sharp background mod, triple triad mod(cards replaced with hd quality pictures) and believe me it is a pleasure playing it like this, better than ps4 could do....
It matters if people want it on Disk 1. You need Tonberry GF for that ability and for that GF you need to get to Centra ruins and for that you need a certain vehicle which you don't get until Dics 2.
It's not necessary to get the elnoyle cards, this may seem hard to believe but high level belhelmel's give laser canons, or you can get them from elastoid in Laguna's dream, the dragon fangs from high level t-rexaurs in the training center or from grendels in the forest where you go to the dream world, and you can fight adamantoises on the small beach outside dollet (where the train drops you off) and thus acquire adamantines.
This is my favourite Final Fantasy game. The late SNES period and early PSX period was a magical time. Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy Tactics, Xenogears, and Final Fantasy 8. The big problem with Square games at the time was that some of them were very expensive due to only being able to get them at import shops. Square was bad with releasing them in every country.
you can get the adamantine by mugging it from the iron clad when it shows up in FH (that's before going to the island behind dollet) and about the cards, there's a way of getting a krysta card or a jumbo cactuar card within the first hour (s) of the game, you just need the card command and turn some glacial eyes and bite bugs into cards and there you have it (you need a to be EXTREMELY lucky), that will make it easier to get 4 important cards before leaving for timber (3 characters and 1 gf)...
Todd Spencer I didn't know that for the longest time either. My first playthru I got to disc 4 and realized I didn't have the Weapons Monthly First Issue for Lionhart. So I used an old save to go back to get it as Laguna. All that wasted time for nothing!
I remember this game before it came out, I was on dial up connection downloading the video of the CG....lol...every few frames of the video playback gets me excited
You don't even need a break damage limit with Zell, just timing and Selphie with a little luck or an open disk tray can wreck everything. But yeah it would be kinda cool to break the damage limit since the game calculates damage higher than 9999, as seen by junctioning, say, 10 drains and doing an attack of 9999. You'll almost always drain more than 999 HP, sometimes a lot more.
Hey Guys in order to have adamantite on disk one i have an alternate method. Enemies level up as u reach lvl 15 and lvl 25. So do their drops, if you search on the edge of the beaches near windhill adamantites will drop (rare drop) and you can have the lion heart early on. (im still in balamb garden on disk one at lvl 50 with lionheart, lots of card games XD)
Impossible. There´s no way to fight adamantoises on disc one without cheating. Te only way to get adamantine early in the game is modding the Minotaur's card right after you get it or wait until you have the control of the garden and search for adamantoises on disc two.
INOMINI HOoooo really?! How about card games? you really don't have a clue on what you are saying. card games = lion heart on disk one. As soon as you can reach the continent find the nearest beach to Windhill and you will be able to find Adamant dropping monsters. just try it out instead of calling me a liar ... Troll...
I see. Well, for future reference, try it the next time you use Lionheart. The screen will flash on each hit you get it right with, that's the indicator. I don't recall if the controller vibrates on those hits, though.
***** I will try it for sure, I'm doing a Squall solo challenge and I will need to get Lionheart on disk 1, even though I alredy have 120 STR (Carding Bombs for Krysta cards to refine in Holys isn't fun but it's worth it) I won't be doing 9999 damage.
@Setphire im sorry this may be late, i started my FF8 again and this is totally true, you can get all of these cards and char cards in disk one easy, also i thank you for the time and effort you put into making this tutorial.
You don't have to play the card game at all to get the lionheart in disc 1. You can get it in other ways, but they recommend the card game because you get other items in the process.
Get the cards early on, it took me like 6 hours on constant grinding because I left the balamb garden and continued the story line. You can get them from cid, the gategaurd and cafeteria trepe members at balamb garden. I had to get mine from the blonde hair kid at galbadia garden. he walks where the guys doing pushups are. Those cards are a pain to get so grind early.
Ryuzaki Raiga actually, the r1 trigger stayed, but all it does is increase chance of critical damage. The r1 trigger was a gunblade feature. But it increases critical hit chance for every other character as long as it was still turn based. Once ff12 and up came out with free roam battles, the trigger critical up went away.
There is another way to get Pulse Ammo, which is battling Belhemels (The floating clown-faced saw monster) at level 30+ until you get 3 laser cannons, which refine into 5 Pulse Ammo each. It may prove to be equally tedious, as there's only about a 5% chance that they drop the laser cannons.
There seems to be a lot of comments regarding the Seifer card recently and I would like to clarify how to obtain him. I believe after you return from Dollet you can go up to the 3rd floor and challenge Cid. He's not a pushover, so be sure to save beforehand.
Cloud_FFVII No, he's right. With one character there is a certain chance for the limit to pop up. Well, if you have 3 characters on low life you switch them through to get the limits to pop up, so all 3 characters have their own chance for the limit to pop up. Which in general lowers the chance of a limit. Another thing is ... at that point in the game squall probably has the only worthy limit anyways. Many of the other limits are pretty shitty.
if you go to the garden from there you can get the enylote care just by playing some people enough you can take all cards and youll come across it along with quite a collection of rare cards from the nurse
Play the Trepe Groupie #1 in the cafeteria for Elnoyle cards, I have 12 and I have 4 hours on the clock, I only just did the fire cavern. I had 4 Elnoyles in 3 hours until I played the Groupie (I was playing the nurse Kadowaki in the infirmary), you speak to his friend and the grey box comes up telling you to choose the guy in the front or the guy in back..the guy in back is the groupie. I obtained 8 Elnoyle cards in just one hour. I'm after 80 though as I got the Lionheart on disc 1 before, and you need 80 plus a tonne of other cards to get everyone's final weapon except Irvine's on disc 1.
@DJYC21215 It's not a matter of the grendel appearing or not. The dragon fang can only be acquired from it when it is between level 1-20. Since monsters level up with your characters in FF VIII, if your party is over level 20, the monster will be over level 20 as well. This means that grendel will no longer drop the dragon fang since it's level is too high.
@mrbearsbeetsbsg Seifer comes from Cid at the top of Garden. Zell comes from Ma Dincht. Quistis comes from the Quistis Trepe groupies. And you obtain Diablos and Ifrit upon defeating both of them.
There are a few other ways to get dragon fangs and pulse ammo on disc 1. Dragon fangs are dropped by t-rex in the training area in balamb garden. they have to be lvl 30+ so getting to that level may take a while. Pulse ammo can be optainend by beating a blitz in the 2nd laguna dream you get power generators wich you can refine in pulse ammo... also have to be lvl 30+ that's defenitly quicker than getting 20 enoyle cards
@dstmt2 Which is still on the first disc. :) After you get the ID number for Rinoa's father, just go ahead and get the Brothers. Besides, you don't need the Sacred/Minotaur cards to get Adamantine. Get to at least level 30, and you can fight Adamantoises on the beach by Dollet after you escape Timber (make certain you don't have Mug equipped at the time). They will drop one or two Adamantine every time, but you can ONLY get them as drops.
@HappyHawaiinSauce FFVIII Limit breaks do not work like FFVII. To 'get' a character to use Limit Break, you should wait until he/she goes below 32% of his/her max HP, then cycle through them using circle button. Well in my case, I use triangle. Just keep cycling through three of them. Eventually, beside your attack command, there will be an arrow. You can also use Limit break in every single turn if your HP is below 32% using that cycling through characters method. Hope that helps.
I actually got Dragon Fang x 2 from the Grendels with a level 44 Squall, 31 Quistis, and 19 Rinoa. The issue is that the average level of the party (allegedly also weighing Squall in heavily) determines the monster level. Level 20 or below Grendel has high 70% chance to drop a fang. The next bracket can still drop them (x2), but at a bit less than 20% chance. The highest tier of Grendel won't drop them at all. A trick to check is to use "draw" on it. If the spell suffix is "-ga," it's too high.
@Akriema Every Triple Triad player plays a certain number of "Sheets" of cards, for example, Elnoyle is a lvl 5 card, so only players who have the lvl 5 card sheet will play him. The Quistis fan #1 in the cafeteria has the highest chance to use Elynoyle cards, however Cid plays the card a lot as well (you can card battle him in his office after getting the magic lamp but before going to Timber)
Grendals aren't the only place to get Dragon Fangs; you can get them from Anacondaurs as a victory prize in Dollet. I think Squall was Level 25 at the time (AP grinding on the beaches of Balamb with Quistis) while Zell and Seifer were ten or below. Adamantine can be gotten before Deling City, but you have to be level 30+. Go to Dollet after Timber and fight Adamantoise on the beach (use summons). Disable Mug first if you got it, as Adamantine is a Drop, not a Muggable item.
@ChaosoneX Have to edit myself. You get six Dragon FANGS from T-Rexaurs, which are in the Garden Training Center (a really narrow range, though -- they must be levels 20-29). Dragon SKINS, you get from Anacondaur, which you'll need for Zell's Ehrgeiz.
I really hated the cheap leveling system in FF8 for monsters, that dictated their level being reflective of your characters levels in the game. And it wasn't the problem that it was a similar level as much as it was the capabilities and "unlocked" abilities of monsters to absolutely obliterate your characters at those higher levels.
+Blitzvogel Mobius Yeah, FFVIII is not friendly to level-grinders like myself (grew up with the original Dragon Warrior; that should tell you enough). Instead, there's a challenge that comes with low-level and high-level runs. High-level makes bosses easy and encounters hard, while low-level makes encounters easy and bosses hard. Take your pick.
+Delineator of Light That is not true. At low level everything is easy. By the time I encountered cerberos, I killed it with 3 normal attacks. No limits, just attack. This is because of junction system. Junctioning powerful spells that are meant to be gotten by high level characters makes you really OP in low levels. The spells can be gotten just from playing card game.
Level Up is not the thing making you strong in FF8. It's the Junction System. Level Up becomes benefitial after you got Strengh+, Magic+ etc. Equip as most of those Abilities to one Character and get the others KO. After reach Lv. 100 proceed to next Character. After you got the Ragnarok, you can fly to an island where 1 battle gives you more than 1000 Exp. (+1 Level)
to be more spacific, about the seifer card, when you are a seeD, and get sent on your first mission, after you talk to cid again to get the cursed lamp, walk forward a screen then back, cid will be gone, then walk back to the garded elevator and you can now access the third floor and challenge him, you can challenge cid anytime you have access to the 3rd floor

I have the Lionheart BEFORE taking control of Laguna at the second time, playing at ps2 with original cd's. (I'm talking about AFTER Timber)
You do not need weapons monthly first issue. You must have the items needed.
AFTER THE BALL DANCE AND BEFORE TIMBER:
1) Play cards in Balamb Garden and get 20 Elnoyle cards or when you have control of Laguna at the second time, fight Elastoid and mug 1 Lazer Cannon which you can refine into 5 Pulse Ammo.
+squallkelly1 The correct way of going about this.

Your profile picture is perfect for your comment lol.
Damn that deling city song, makes me sad to remember those old times
I remember playing this game when I was a kid and never would've thought this would be achievable. I commend you good sir. Now I'll be using this for the remaster
i remember that this was the first rpg that i've played, before they all looks bored pieces of shit to me, but with this game totally change my opinion about the genre. What memories, the landing, the epic opening, ultimecia, my childhood....i love this game. I finish it in 104 hours, i still remember that.
I finished it in 101 Hours flat, I was so proud of myself.
104 hrs wow that''s to pretty long to finish the game, well it only took me 55 hrs with a big help from gamepro hahaha but i still suck at the chicobo quest lol
Rex Herrera
I like to experience every part of these games... I've probably spent over 200 hours on FFX -- got to the end area a few years ago then didn't feel like finishing the game yet, so I went back to an earlier save and started (slowly) maxing stats in the monster arena... still never bothered to finish the game.
+Rex Herrera
Lol I've sunk 50+ hours into disc 1 alone :/
only just got irvine in my party.
If you get the Lionheart straight away wouldn't you be missing the other Limit Breaks Squall gets from his other weapons?
Lionheart gets you all his LB
Final Fantasy 8...the good days 🥱
Forget my previous question, I found the answer.
To everyone who wants to do that, you need to collect the Elnoyle cards before you take the train to Timber or you can´t get the Lion Heart.
The right order is like this: Elnoyle cards --> Dragon fang --> defeat the Brothers
Also, getting the Elnoyle cards from the headmaster Cid is faster as from Xell´s mother.
gotta miss that overworld map music. the hours i spent running around it after school every afternoon. then after having my fill of ff8, moving on to play symphony of the night while hearing 'dance of the pales'. oh the memories.
Very cool. FF8 is my favorite
Yeahhh, hope it'll have a remake version!!
+Mac Chen That would be amazing. Doubt it will happen though, doesn't get as much credit as it deserves unfortunately :,(
I see FF10 being hyped more and more over the years, and those same people (sometimes not, though) trash FF8...
Its best to win strong cards at the beginning of the game plus change the rules to "All" so you can easily acquire more cards fodder cards while you're at it.
the good old days wow how I miss them
from the start, having it's limit break makes the rest of the game significantly easier.
Don't do that though since you probably wont be able to win against your first ruby dragon encounter.
I was at least lvl 72 with squall before I headed out with zell and selphie
Thank you for this epic video on how to obtain Lionheart on the first disc! I found this by interest and boredom and it intrigued me. Great Work; A+ work and video, in my opinion
Ah, yes. That classic Final fantasy hero, Chris. Cloud is shit tier compared to my main man, Chris.
Chrishhhh.....
Your White Knight LO-fucking-L
Legend say his Chris is just his surname. People said his first name is Jesus.
Yeah no everyone knows Cloud stomps Chris he can't even do lion heart on command omnislash however can be used infinitely with mime materia 7 remake will make chris forever irrelevent
Another loophole in the gameplay I didn't think to exploit. Thanks for posting this man.
RENZOKUKEN, aaah Hell Yes. Miss this game. Hyped for The remastered one
Hear this Music after all the Years give me chills.
i actually got my elnoyle in the school lol,at the start of the game, duelling with the 2 girls in the classroom before the seed exam
I did this some time ago and let me tell you, it's not worth the hassle. Getting the 20 Elnoyle cards is a pain in the @SS. The balamb garden gate area is imprinted into my brain and it gives me the shivers every time I walk by.
Getting the 20 cards may be a hassle but trust me you gain a lot more benefit if you kept playing them cards
@@yurifan122894 I know the power of the cards, but getting 20 Elnoyle cards isn't worth the hassle. Just wait and get farther into the game, the Lion Heart doesn't make that much of a difference to make the game any easier, just knowing what your doing does the same thing.
@@wolfpackflt670 well other than the lion heart, starting out with op magic/stat is pretty fun
The gate was where I did it too
same bro. ff8 reminds me of a time when I was just becoming an adolescent, and discovering the real world... back when I could easily escape the real world into my sanctuary with my family and forget about everything.
I wish I could go back.
actually you can get everyone's final weapons even earlier, but it requires alot more time.
there's a kid in Balam Garden running around the elevator. i believe he wears a blue shirt
he has all the cards needed to make everyone's final weapons.
i did this before took me over 10 hours of card playing; and about 1 hour of prep time(to get cards like mog and card mod grats rare card mod)
Yeah, he is such a pain to duel, though. An early deck as the one you start out with needs to carefully work its way up through lower tier opponents.
You learn something new every time XD.
i really wish they would HD this game or just remake it like they are FF7
i have steam version with hd mods, music mods,hd battle mods, sharp background mod, triple triad mod(cards replaced with hd quality pictures) and believe me it is a pleasure playing it like this, better than ps4 could do....
I doubt we'll ever see any HD remakes of this game because of some messed up things that happened to the files while producing it 20 years ago.
hi - i have a steam version of ff8 too... how can i apply those hd mods? @@guyincognito7771
Square-enix don't have the game source code anymore, so if they remake it it would be from scratch.
luvzfrance24 they do
Also, it doesn't matter if you're over level 20 or whatever, you can always use the level down ability on the enemies to get the items you want.
It matters if people want it on Disk 1. You need Tonberry GF for that ability and for that GF you need to get to Centra ruins and for that you need a certain vehicle which you don't get until Dics 2.
11 YEARS AGO!? Goddang i'm old...
Adamantine can be obtained from Adamantoises on beaches north of Dollet, but I can't remember if that area is accessible on disk 1
lol, who the fuck is "Chris" ?
hi
lol
yo what's up
cloudstrife293 No your name is cloud silly. You already stole Zacks persona we don't need you doing that again now lol.
I'm guessing because Squall kinda looks like Chris Redfield from Resident Evil
It's not necessary to get the elnoyle cards, this may seem hard to believe but high level belhelmel's give laser canons, or you can get them from elastoid in Laguna's dream, the dragon fangs from high level t-rexaurs in the training center or from grendels in the forest where you go to the dream world, and you can fight adamantoises on the small beach outside dollet (where the train drops you off) and thus acquire adamantines.
That poor Gizzard...
The big question is how to play with Chris, make a video please.
I have beaten this game 6 times at least and always enjoyed the hunt of getting Lionhart so early. Love this game!
How'd you get the lion heart recipe to show up in store though? Don't you need the magazine from lunatic pandora in disc 3?
No you can get the Magazine in blamb garden on disc 1 if you are Lucky.
you can get the adamantine by mugging it from the iron clad when it shows up in FH (that's before going to the island behind dollet) and about the cards, there's a way of getting a krysta card or a jumbo cactuar card within the first hour (s) of the game, you just need the card command and turn some glacial eyes and bite bugs into cards and there you have it (you need a to be EXTREMELY lucky), that will make it easier to get 4 important cards before leaving for timber (3 characters and 1 gf)...
so do you not need issue one of the weapons magazine? as long as you have the materials the weapon appears in the shop?
GODDAMN I NEVER NEW THAT
Todd Spencer yeah no weapons mags needed if you have the materials
Todd Spencer I didn't know that for the longest time either. My first playthru I got to disc 4 and realized I didn't have the Weapons Monthly First Issue for Lionhart. So I used an old save to go back to get it as Laguna. All that wasted time for nothing!
16!? And I thought the highest was 6 times, you are a true FF8 hero, I admire you
I refuse to refine cards! Cant wait for this FF to drop.
Hopefully they dont patch anything or fix loopholes like this lol
Wow...I forgot how amazing the lion heart limit break is here. SO COOL.
But, but, THE CARDS! xD
right you are hehehe
Shinji D
Refine your last pathetic card, so I can end this, Squall!
My Triad deck has no pathetic cards!
That's what i think! : /
Another way to get adamantine?
Well you could wait for it, however you could also do the CC quest so you can spawn unlimited GF cards including the Gilgamesh Card (to get Holy Wars)
I remember this game before it came out, I was on dial up connection downloading the video of the CG....lol...every few frames of the video playback gets me excited
FF8 Limit Break is OP, imagine if they have some kind of Break Damage Limit thing
You'll almost always drain more than 999 HP, sometimes a lot more.
quistis can do over 9999 damage with her shock wave pulsar limit break
+SuperR31 but that's only one hit. Imagine Lion Heart with over 9999 instead
Troll...
You didn't press the trigger for each hit when you used Lionheart?? FOR SHAME!
But it doesn't work :/
Oh, believe me,it most certainly does! You have probably 1/4-1/8 of a second on the timing of each strike, though--I rarely get it myself :/
***** Oh, maybe I never noticed because I always got Lionheart in late disk 3 and it was alredy doing 9999 damage
Cant wait for remaster 😁 so much time spent playing cards with ma dincht though 😢
Best Game for me.. Long time ago i spend so much time to this Game.. Love it
You don't have to play the card game at all to get the lionheart in disc 1.
Those cards are a pain to get so grind early.
i love ff8 because when u use limit break u need to use press R1, no other FF got this right...
Joshua Chumley how true is this? Does this work with FFIX and FFX?
There is another way to get Pulse Ammo, which is battling Belhemels (The floating clown-faced saw monster) at level 30+ until you get 3 laser cannons, which refine into 5 Pulse Ammo each. It may prove to be equally tedious, as there's only about a 5% chance that they drop the laser cannons.
I bought the Pocket Station souly for the chocobo.
There seems to be a lot of comments regarding the Seifer card recently and I would like to clarify how to obtain him. I believe after you return from Dollet you can go up to the 3rd floor and challenge Cid. He's not a pushover, so be sure to save beforehand.
Would not using Pheonix Down have made the video a little quicker? Just saying!
***** Fair enough. It's a good video and a good tip. Thanks for sharing.
***** wait what?? that doesn´t make any sense...
Grasmann yeah I know, I was being sarcastic XD. Still my favorite limit is "The End"...Selphie :3
You take good care of your party members lol
I just bought this game and can't wait to get IV complete collection this Tuesday!
"the cards take FOREVER to get", "It took me 4 hours", "you will have them in no time"..... well wtf?
if you go to the garden from there you can get the enylote care just by playing some people enough you can take all cards and youll come across it along with quite a collection of rare cards from the nurse
3 hours and 50 minutes of those 4 hours were just the time waiting for the screen to transition into the card screen and then back out.
@DJYC21215
It's not a matter of the grendel appearing or not. The dragon fang can only be acquired from it when it is between level 1-20. Since monsters level up with your characters in FF VIII, if your party is over level 20, the monster will be over level 20 as well. This means that grendel will no longer drop the dragon fang since it's level is too high.
Don't you need the weapon magazine to learn the recipe for lion heart?
Sean Williamson You do not. As long as you have the items it’ll pop up when you go to make it.
@@ShuyinKojima ah okay good to know!
you need a human leg and an unborn fetus
@mrbearsbeetsbsg
Seifer comes from Cid at the top of Garden. Zell comes from Ma Dincht. Quistis comes from the Quistis Trepe groupies. And you obtain Diablos and Ifrit upon defeating both of them.
Who's already here after remastered?? kkkkkkkkk
There are a few other ways to get dragon fangs and pulse ammo on disc 1.
Dragon fangs are dropped by t-rex in the training area in balamb garden. they have to be lvl 30+ so getting to that level may take a while.
Pulse ammo can be optainend by beating a blitz in the 2nd laguna dream you get power generators wich you can refine in pulse ammo... also have to be lvl 30+
that's defenitly quicker than getting 20 enoyle cards
Omni -slash vs lionhart? Hmmm...🤔
An 11 year old tutorial is making the rounds again, thanks Obama!
Fuck obama lol.
Lol i hate people that change characters's names
haha =D
andrea solo i called my guy Horacio...from csi miami XD
me too--i like keeping the original
Maybe he played the game 100 times
I hate people that hate people that hate people that hate people that change characters's names
If the spell suffix is "-ga," it's too high.
this takes 4hours
gameshark takes 2minutes
Why to even bother playing after using GameShark, it take all interesting in the game
Well thats OP as fuck lol. Not sure if id do it since it would make every fight in the game a joke.
POOR GEEZARD :(
@ChaosoneX Have to edit myself.
Get back to resident evil chris
thanks for this i wasnt sure where to get grendel tbh i think the getting elnoyle cards were the hardest part of the quest
Why would someone do that?? This game is easy as hell
For fun? I dont know man some people like being op
This game was a lot of fun and the hype was huge being the direct successor of FF7 and all. Though the story wasn't exactly suited for males but it had its merits.
