The most underrated song in history
One of my favorite tracks of Reload, and always gives me the chills when I hear it.
There's another performance from around this point in time where they actually had a hurdy-gurdy on stage, which I think adds more flavor to the song, given that it was also used in the album version.

If Low Man's Lyric was done by Justin Timberlake it would go to #1 in a heartbeat. It's just a great song.
The studio version would send you over the moon Kel, the hurdy-gurdy is a strange instrument but it adds something you don't have here, it's... it's the string version of bagpipes. And by that I don't mean annoying :p I mean it provides a drone, a solid subset or foundation that everything else receives harmonics from and really, REALLY affects the impact of the song.
A viola with an endless bow. A song with emotionally crushing lyrics. And it's Metallica? Hell yes it is.

Why the fuck you hate Load and ReLoad?
Load and Reload always got a bad prep because people couldn't accept something different. They may be different but they are still full of great music. These days Load and Reload are some of my favorites to go back to when I feel like listening to Metallica. Minus Human and No Leaf Clover from the S&M sessions as well.
Kipex People can accept something different if it’s good. Load and Reload are loaded with stinkers that’s all.
I love the S&M album . My two all time favorite Metallica songs are No leaf clover and Fade to Black.

A lot of fans call this the worst Metallica song ever but I've always found it kind of charming. It certainly fits in with everything else they were doing in that period.
Clearly not us. Fans come in all shapes and sizes. The Metalllica machine rolls on. I've actually never heard that blowback about this song. I see it as creativity to the max. Solid composition. @@ork_oz Back then, when fans heard songs like this and 'Mama Said', it was like the metal world itself was going to collapse. And if you took a poll today of least favourite Metallica songs this one would rank pretty high.
I happen to think time has been very kind to the 'Load/Reload' era. Especially since, production-wise, their albums never sounded this good again.
If this tune was made by anybody but metallica, it'd be considered a classic

Not to be in your business too much, but you may want to look at the Google AdSense ToS.
