This is one of those Metallica gems that only true Metallica fans are aware of. Love this song!!!!
Any fan of Metallica is a true fan. This one of those songs that only more die hard Metallica fans will know.
I think the Same !
This is one of my most favorite song! I really wish they played it more!!!
My first cd was Reload and I used to listen to this song all the time.
I've always loved it.
Totally underated song.
Kirk is totally out of tempo.
sad but true \m/
That's okay. This one's all about James.
Two underrated albums as well
Agreed
so the camera guy hates Jason apparently
Perhaps Metallica's most underrated and overlooked song
Say what you will about load and reload
But they’re some of the best rock albums of all time
Reid Kuelz hear, hear!
If it wasn't released by Metallica it would probably be considered as so, indeed
You like Tool AND Load/Reload? We must become friends
Fucken rights buddy I have both albums 🤘
I've always felt that way as well. They're both fantastic!
#2018 ..... This song should be brought back to the setlist!!!! Man!!!!
yep i think they really should. maybe in the acoustic all within my hands live
2020 and I totally agree!!!
I wished they played this live again
Yes
Yes
They should have played it in S&M2
No one talks about how Lars performed so well.
I think is cause hes using wood sticks.... Ive played with both and in my experience the fiber carbon are kinda heavy. And you may see the old gigs and hes using wood and he had more ability
Now imagine this but in S&M 2!!!
Ah, yes, that would have been a true gem on that album.
I feel they missed it with SM2. I still liked it but could have loved it!
m.ua-cam.com/video/9v7xdfZEpfw/v-deo.html
Under fucking rated song. Makes me wanna drink!
🥂
James Hetfield is an excellent song writer. He doesn't get enough credit for that.
Shame they never played this again
Metallica is something, somehow, strange. They are not like the other bands. Everyone know other bands problems. But with Metallica, that comes to us in a different way. Looks like it's happening in the house of our neighbour, our friend or something. We end to live that so near. Understanding their musical evolution, is like understanding what they have come through. Shit... I don't know. For me is like it makes sense. Load was a really good, underrated album. And it takes to us so much of their problems, specially about James and his struggle to find the way. This song is deep, as Bleeding Me, as Mama Said... Well, a great album with some of the deeper songs from them ever, with great guitar solos (love that). Forget to mention: Metallica rules
fitty77 Omg ur right!
I've rarely seen this expressed. Listening to the Black, Load and ReLoad, I can just imagine what was inside them, especially James. I wish they would have gone back to the Load/ReLoad tuning sooner tho, brings so much more of James voice. Not sure if Hardwired did it, but at least I can hear him sing from his heart again, much as he did here.
And the lyrics, man, most of this is poetic gold.
I love them evolving with time, but I wish there was more of their darker albums.
It's really amazing, according to the massess, Metallica worst albums are lyrically the best for the most major bands.
Fuck yeah they rule 🤘
I feel the same way with them, I talk about them like I talk about my brothers and friends, I feel so close to them... That's why they are my favorite band, I have this special felling for them that I don't feel with none band
would love to see this live nowadays
Too fast for Lars
LP D'A lol
LP D'A hhahahhahahahhahahahahhah
coming from me who loves old school metallica, this is a damn fine song, need to whack this out live now an again, it'd be beyond cool man
Funny I only discovered metallica late and this was their first song I heard I was hooked haha
one of the songs you just feel like could last hours and you'd never mind it a bit
GREAT song, the bagpipes are AWESOME. This song really hits me deep. I consider this and "Mama Said" to be 2 very original, non-metal ballads that MetallicA fuckin NAILED. Mama Said is more country, this is more folk, but both feel DAMN GOOD. Mama Said = Sad verse, happy chorus... Low Man's = Happy verse, sad chorus. Both are amazing songs.
Those aren't bagpipes it's an instrument called a hurdy gurdy
Sean Slawson
Right I forgot all about that. It is a hurdy gurdy.
@Onur Sagir doesn't it start out with a big G major chord?
Dunno about G but its definitely major
@@tom_4615 a major. Actually Ab major. Then G.
This is Metallica too. This song, Fixxer and Outlaw torn are so underrated as Load & Reload.
this song is like the first sip of coffee in the morning. that ahhhhh feeling like damn these motherfuckers make good music! grateful af these guys are still making art.
would have been epic for s&m 2!
Get well soon, James!
seems i'm not the only one who thinks so!
No S&M without Michael Kamen. He's the maestro they worked, the only one. Since his passing the orchestral sounds have been missing from their music.
They should play this at there most recent acoustic shows
This, mama said and blackened 2020 🔥
@@rob604blackened 2020 is so terrible
Notice the crowd reaction at the time they start playing It. It's because it's a freaking awesome song.
best band ever by the way
I would’ve LOVED to have seen this gem on the set list for S&M2.
I'm sad they didnt include this or mama said
The Quintessential Yeah. Fade to Black, too. Even still, I’m pumped about seeing the theatrical release in a few weeks!
I discover this song today 🤦🏻 and it goes right to my top 3 Metallica songs... Literally fucking my mind
This song got me through hard times when I was young.
i love this song
iamradical Me to
iamradical me three
iamradical I used to love it for weeks
Then I decided to pay attention to the lyrics
At first I thought it was singing the hard and miserable life of and exploited man
But it is actually blaming that same man for being weak and giving up for drugs and stuff
Now I just like it. Don't love anymore
@@gawain6645 It's still really sad though
Yeah, i Love this Song so much !
Underrated song and album
They should play this nowadays, especially since they've been doing a ton of acoustic songs.
Can't like this twice. Sad.
But true!
make several accounts?
I've never seen a live recording of this...😢, thank you so much
This version of this song just made me have emotions!
Emotions are not something I usually deal in. Sad though.
This was way better than the MTV version
I was at this concert!! I was stationed in Korea at the time. It was so awesome to see Koreans sing along with them.
Was the whole gig acoustic
@@russianbear6384 no
ua-cam.com/video/e5UWhFO9wWA/v-deo.html this is the full show
were you one of the U.S. troops in Korea? if so thank you man
It's so ironic Korean's singing Metallica's song while nowadays they have the worst music in the entire planet
An underrated MASTERPIECE!
Metallica tries something new every time they release an album. That’s what makes them the best band in my opinion. I love Slayer, but all their albums sound the same.
Nah nah nah, to be fair Slayer´s first 5 albums sound different from each other, the 90´s were meh and they´ve played the same album since God hat us All, but those first 5 are da shit
@@antoniocenteno1483 exactly I couldn't have said it better
@@antoniocenteno1483 god hates us all was honestly their last great album. The next 3 sounded extremely overdone
And Iron Maiden as well
Slayer's shit
this song should be back in live play list
My eyes seek reality
My fingers seek my veins
Theres a dog at your back step
He must come in from the rain
I fall cause I let go
The net below has rot away
So my eyes seek reality
And my fingers seek my veins
The trash fire is warm
But nowhere safe from the storm
And I can't bare to see
What I've let me be
So wicked and worn
So as I write to you
Of what is done and to do
Maybe you'll understand
And won't cry for this man
'Cause low man is due
Please forgive me
My eyes seek reality
My fingers feel for faith
Touch clean with a dirty hand
I touched the clean to the waste
The trash fire is warm
But nowhere safe from the storm
And I can't bare to see
What I've let me be
So wicked and worn
So as I write to you
Of what is done and to do
Maybe you'll understand
And won't cry for this man
'Cause low man is due
Please forgive me
Please forgive me
Please forgive me
So low the sky is all I see
All I want from you is forgive me
So you bring this poor dog in from the rain
Though he just wants right back out again
And I cry, to the alley way
Confess all to the rain
But I lie, lie straight to the mirror
The one I've broken, to match my face
The trash fire is warm
But nowhere safe from the storm
And I can't bare to see
What I've let me be
So wicked and worn
So as I write to you (yeah)
Of what is done and to do (yeah)
Maybe you'll understand
And won't cry for this man
'Cause low man is due
Please forgive me
Please forgive me
So low the sky is all I see
All I want from you is forgive me
So you bring this poor dog in from the rain
Though he just wants right back out again
My eyes seek reality
My fingers seek my veins
How good are the lyrics
I don't know why this is so underrated,I totally love this song.
One of the saddest songs ever. The song itself is a suicide note from a heroin addict.
Jeydyn Bruce seriously?
@@olleaxelsson3249 Yeah, it's damn true.
@@big_swangin_balls James never did drugs (Can I include alcohol?) If alcohol was labeled as drug, well almost all of them...
To me it sounds mi more like confess of old man who left his family and tried to contact someone from his family, not as a song about a drug addicted person.
@@bitcoiner7522 I think "my fingers seek my veins" part about heroin addiction. But we know that Het was never addicted to any drugs. He is a poet for sure :) We can never know what he was thinking when he write this lyrics.
During their most underrated period came some of the bands best songs. 20+ years later these songs still have a relevance and still move.?
I just hat how they treated Jason, there's no single close shot on him in the whole video
Yeah, I would have left the band too. He deserved so much better
Love you James , Love Metallica
the bass is heavenly
I teared up the first time I heard this, it was such an amazing moment. I can't remember the last time a song did that. Truly an amazing and underrated song by Metallica 💙
If my life was a movie, this schould be the credit screen song.
most beautiful for me... im met fan
The Greatest band of all time. In my opinion. Sad that cliff couldn’t be there with them at this later stage in life. Miss u Cliff...
Cliff would’ve loved it too he was a big classic rock Skynyrd guy
One of the best songs of llica
The sadest song ever. Great masterpiece !
Low mans lyric is one of my favorites
Classic! Thank you
love this song !!!!!
the most underrated song is this beautifull piece
5:23 best clean riff ever
Este tema si que es heavy casi me duermo de la pudricion🤣

My mother gv me money to buy Metallica reload ...I was too small...few years back she passed away.... thanks mom...love for Metallica from North Himalayas ❤️
One of my favorite songs
Love u metallica 🎸❤️💙
I remember when I bought this concert on vhs. Good times.
I've always thought that low man's lyric is like an Anti-Nothing else matters.
The sad brother of Nothing else matters
I know what you mean... Two sides of the same coin definitely
Glad I got to hear this song live!
never bored
2021 and still one of my favorite song
Thank you James for inspiring me to sing
Love love love ❤️ just beautiful!!! #2021 Bring it back please!!!!
ok, here's my favourite part about this song: The first part is definitely numb and right at 1:01 (please listen from beginning to hear what I mean) we fall into the truth of the man. the sound becomes more alive and warm and cosy. We become the man we have been watching from the outside. I think that moment is amazing.
and that cosiness happens to coincide with the "trash fire" :) trash is not thrash -that (metal) which I can't say I am into- but It has felt like an attribution since I've first heard this. So you bring this poor dog in from the rain, (you value cosiness) though it just wants right back out again (the dog just cant help the excitement). well, relatable...
so it's not right to numb the dog. and something has got to give. so what do you do? :))
And that thrash (trash) metal gives in, in "the unforgiven". It justifies the failure. which is ok for what is left behind. But it's not ok for what is not over yet. So however beautiful and truthful things may seem, please never give in. not even for the very artful Metallica.
Love this song so much!....sweet memories..
This song is great
Such a great tune, ive come back once again to a Gem of a song
апрель 2020 слушаем
That recap/capture is so good.... No original (company/recording/studio) clip has even that..... :D (they never did and never will. Their $$$ is to put bands into shame almost)
Incredible dynamics in this song. And the lyrics are moving. Fantastic stuff
Amazing
Fuck ya:):)... The best ever
Sometimes it´s hard to know why so many people hate Load and Reload, I mean, songs like Ain´t my bitch, King Nothing, Until it Sleeps, Bleeding me, Outlaw Torn (one of my favourites), Fixxxer, Low Man´s Lyrics and yet to say. I mean, these are true gems.
is this in a studio? cause damn! this is near damn perfect! his live performances between 96-2000 was imo the best
How the hell is no one talking about Jason's bass playing here?
Beautiful deep song.
Best band ever! This song is one of my faves! Reminds me of addiction! Grateful it’s over but brings me right back!
The bassline is amazing.
Just Awesome Metallica
Love this song.....thanks mettalica..😊

My top 3 'Tallica of all time :

Que bella melodia
Whether the hard-rocking demo (Mine Eyes) or the released version, this song is great. A forgotten treasure, no doubt.
