Brunello di Montalcino is one of the best wines in the world and all you have to do is to taste one to figure out why!
This Twin Pack includes both the 2015 and the 2016 vintages of Tenuta Buon Tempo’s Brunello di Montalcino
The 2015 is full bodied, structured, and intense with fruity notes of plum, ripe cherries, vanilla, spice with an under layer of tobacco and black pepper from bottle age.
The 2016 is powerful and full of finesse, packed full of ripe black fruits such as plum and black cherry along with some lovely spices from its time in oak. It also has a refreshing floral element that we love and it’s tannins are rounded out with its considerable body and abv.
The Buon Tempo estate covers 28 hectares across the stunning rolling hills of Tuscany. Sustainable agriculture is extremely important to the team here so extra care is taken to preserve the soil and the surrounding environment. The only grape permitted is Sangiovese as Brunello di Montalcino is a DOCG region meaning they have to follow strict policies to be able to use the Brunello name on their label. They received their organic certification in 2021 and their next goal is to reach total ecological sustainablity by 2030.

If you’d like to get a taste for Brunello without the investment, try a Rosso di Montalcino. Same strains of Sangiovese grosso grapes, same complexity, but drinkable a bit younger. The producers can sell it cheaper than Brunello because they don’t have to store it as long before they release it. (IMO, much closer to Brunello than a Chianti, which I believe are made with different Sangiovese strains.)
