Sorry this video was later than usual. This week was pretty busy. I had never heard of Atlas Fallen before, but it's a well polished game and runs great on the Deck.
OMG! that's me! I had missed the bundle when that game was available but after a great year for Deck games in Humble Choice I think I'll go for the annual subscription
Congrats on winning the key! GotG is one of my most cherished gaming memories on the deck. You're going to have a lot of fun! The first level performs terribly on the deck but once you're passed it, it's smooth sailing.
I love how much you thoroughly describe each title in the bundle. I don't think I'll pick up this months bundle, but I will definitely share your content with my friends. :3
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video! I think a lot of people will end up skipping the bundle this month. It's decent as a whole, but there aren't any real standout titles.
I'm surprised with how well Atlas Fallen seemed to hold up on the Deck! Especially since it doesn't seemed to have compromised that much in graphics for the sake of optimization. And lol, I didn't even think to mention the tech system in Old World. It's definitely different compared to other 4X games but I guess it didn't make that big of an impression on me. I was much more interested in the Crusader Kings aspect with the characters. I think Hexarchy felt more intuitive because it was designed to be so...which sounds stupid when I write that out because, of course. Although, what I mean is Hexarchy was made to be a game where you could play a match in 30 mins or less. Old World is much more complex and is something more akin to other 4X games where a match could take several hours if not even longer depending on settings. Every game should probably be intuitive enough, but Hexarchy moreso because of its quick nature vs. Old World which has more time to try and let players understand all the systems. Great review! A question for you though, on reddit, I had someone telling me they had problems on the Deck with Moonstone Island. Some stuttering issues or something? I'm assuming you didn't encounter that since you didn't mention it but figured I'd ask.
I was just as surprised with Atlas Fallen! Even the battery lasted a little longer than expected. Very fair point about Old World vs Hexarchy. Hexarchy was made to be a quick game, easier to pick up and put down, which would make it feel more accessible on the Deck. Funny you mention that about Moonstone Island. I had the FPS counter on the whole time and the deck didn't report any frame drops, but the actual gameplay did slow down to about 75% of the normal speed for about a second every 30 min or so, but this stuttering didn't appear to be showing in any of the playback. This is the first time I've encountered anything like it and I wasn't exactly sure how to discuss it without sounding like a crazy person, so I made a last minute decision to scrap it in the final edit.
@@DeckHeadGaming In my little bit of research on it that seemed to be the same thing. No FPS drop, but stuttering. I guess to the point of being unplayable for some people. Which is really strange. That's a pity though. Maybe the dev team will be able to find a solution for it in the future. The devs still seem to be updating the game so there's a chance!
@StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews At least I know I'm not crazy, now. Was there any issue on Windows or only Steam Deck? The game actually has a Linux version and Valve made an update to SteamOS recently to run the native Linux version by default. It may be related, as this is the first game I've come across on the Deck in native Linux.
@@DeckHeadGaming I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was on both. One of the solutions for some was to make sure that the game was to change graphics settings when running the game. Apparently for laptops, it would try to use the integrated graphics instead of the dedicated card. Obviously, that's not the issue with the Deck though.
I've been using Steam's new built-in game recorder since last month because it's more convenient and reliable than Decky Recorder, but the current version only captures the game window and not the entire screen. I can see the FPS counter while playing, but unfortunately it doesn't show in playback.
The youtube algorithm brought me here and i can say...yea i'll be watching you going forward
Welcome to the channel!
Just got a steam deck and you've introduced me to humble bundles potential for it. Subscribed. Love this content!
Welcome to the Deck Head family!
Was waiting for your video for this month. Atlas fallen is the game I’m most interested in, glad to see it runs well on the deck. Thanks!

Great points made for each game, I like your mini-review style. You've just earned a new subscriber:)

@StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews Interesting. I'll have a play around and see if I can fix it.
1:11 pronunciation is sus 👀
Oh no...
I would love that key
Bomb Rush cyberfunk is the only game that I seem to only care for on the list. Some of the games aren't bad not my cup of tea compare to that game.
A lot of other users are saying the same thing. Pretty unusual month in hindsight.
Where’s the FPS counter?

You’re a deck head
Thank you!
