7:30-ish "Mine's long" - Brett "Do you have your answer?" - Betty ... such a filthy image painted to perfection in that innocent-sounding proto-Rose Nylund tone
I concur, I am not feeling that blonde hair on her. She has a face for dark hair. But I love her though. She's still Morticia "Tish" Addams. Snap, snap.
This is why I prefer the earlier shows . Gene , we go to a second tiebreaker: " This is exciting " instead of making fun of the contestants as if they are dumb
Uh, most of them ARE dumb. As are many of the panelists. It is not a "sin" so state the obvious. In this country, we reward and encourage mediocrity, even stupidity, versus knowledgeable and intelligence. Richard stood out (in a great way) for a reason. Ditto Betty.
I guess this is the first time since it’s match game 73 for a double tiebreaker. They have this new thing. Well, it was new then, to where they put it in front of them it’s a little cardholder and they have to write their answer on the card and then if they say the word they flipped the card around, and that makes them the winner. I like it when they were doing it like this.
Now that Bert Convey had a fine head of hair. Jet black, not a gray one in sight, not a one missing. Usually the way you get that is if your barber knows how to cut a rug.
"Name a kind of muffin" - what kind of Match Game question is that? Should have been "John told me his favorite muffin is BLANK". And then again in the second tie breaker as well.
It's the specific and general thing. Sometimes it's acceptable sometimes not. No one's denying beer is a type of alcohol, but it's not a match. Like if someone said woodwinds for an answer for name a musical instrument. Good luck with that. One's a category in both cases.

@J. Michael Johnson I've read that Richard Dawson left both because he wanted to focus on/only work on Family Feud and because he didn't like the Star Wheel in the head-to-head part of the Super Match, as well as because of wanting more money, as you say. I don't know what to think. Why do you believe what you believe? And, where did you find that info about Ira Skutch? The way he judges the answers certainly supports what you say. Do you know why he was so interested in keeping contestants from winning much?
Listen Brett, he said you don't write the first time.. Again listen to the question the first time so he doesn't have to repeat it when you are the only one playing.. sigh..
That's just the problem. Brett was so busy telling everyone else what to do, or yakking away with someone (Charles) she didn't hear or pay attention to the questions.
Booze is alcohol, especially hard liquor and Beer is an alcoholic drink made from yeast-fermented malt flavored with hops. Also it has long been est that they don't match generals with specifics or specifics with generals. Booze is general, beer is specific alcoholic drink.. Capital is the most important city or town of a country or region, usually its seat of government and administrative center. White House is the official residence and workplace of the president of the United States. And maybe you can't have a voice without a mouth..
Booze is hard liquor. Beer is not. The White House is where the president lives and is the center of the executive branch of government. The Capitol is where Congress meets, and is the center of the legislative branch of government. They are two different buildings.
@@cinemaholic730 The reason "mouth" and "voice" were a match is because "big mouth" is an idiom for loud talking which is the same thing as "big voice" which literally means loud talking.

I think she looks great like this! Very chic.
The bowl or bob thing made her look rather nerdy

I watched the new MG only a few times. Is that what Baldwin does, make fun of the contestants?
Gene was going for a laugh and if you look the contestants were laughing as well..

They were dumb answers 😂😄 but this episode, however, the answers aren't bad but the panelists just aren't matching.
Bob was so adorable 💜💜💜😻😻😻
My very favorite game show !!!!

I love it only been watching it about 6 months in England we had a show called blankety blank based on this 😊

It is early in the run of the series and they are still using questions like the used on the MG6x's.. They are getting there..
It seems like most of the early tiebreaker questions were written that way.
Sue was the queen of comebacks
I've never agreed with their assertion that beer is not booze!!! It's all alcohol!!
@@mehboobkm3728 sometimes they did, it seems very arbitrary to me
Beer is a booze, but not all booze is beer.

It's very subtle and easily missable, but Richard, at 6:25 is doing a pretty good STAN LAUREL (of Laurel and Hardy fame) impression.
He does that a lot. Also Paul Lyn and Max Smart.

never thought morey was funny, he reminded me of a vaudevillian with a suitcase full of old jokes.
That’s because he WAS a vaudevillian with a suitcase full of old jokes.
But some of his jokes were funny though.
Why does booze ≠ beer in the world of Match Game?
Booze is hard liquor
YES, BOOZE IZ A HARD (LIQUOR)....
AND BEER IZ AN (ALE).....

Booze is a general term that could be used for any hard liquor. Beer is more specific
Yeah I had a problem with that to. They wouldn't match Beer with Booze, but they matched Voice with Mouth?
16:23 nothing wrong with u honey, these questions just a hot mess
I've often wondered if Brett had ADD or ADHD. She almost always had to have Gene read the question to her twice.
I read somewhere it was her way of drawing more attention to herself.
She did it for attention.
Richard usually asked it be read before he gave his answer like setting up a joke
Morey is so good
Me too
When did the contestants start always picking Richard ??
Once they figured out that he very nearly always matched the answers.

Apparently beer isn't booze and the White House isn't the capital on the Match Game planet...
YUP. The beer-booze thing is kind of iffy but understandable, but the Capitol Building is where Congress meets, not the White House.
But apparently mouth and voice is good enough for a match. Go figure.
Booze is alcohol, especially hard liquor and Beer is an alcoholic drink made from yeast-fermented malt flavored with hops.
