Impressive Accurate Ranking Anna. I'm Also Very Impressed How Deeply You Dove Down In The 80s Era Of Horror Films. A Lot Of These 80s Horror Movies I've Never Heard Of, But There Were Definitely Some Of Them On This List I Recognized.
Prince Of Darkness and From Beyond are two that I can't separate from nostalgia. They were both my favorites at one time but I saw them when they were new to the video store. Other than that I agree with the others I've seen and am definitely going to look up the ones I haven't seen from your top tiers. Great video! I really enjoy hearing your thoughts 🤘🤘
Anna put in some work!! So many fun movies and I know this is cliché but they really do not make movies like they used to, like there was a certain type of charm to them that I miss dearly. The Stepfather is one of my favorites on your list & definitely has great fall vibes like more Thanksgiving vibes. I have tried giving Puppet Master a few chances throughout my life and could never get into it, even as a kid. Great video & I saw that you were on Kadi Videos Podcast!
I definitely agree there is a really endearing quality about horror films from this era ❤️ you’re so right The Stepfather would be a great one to watch around thanksgiving, maybe I’ll give the sequel with O’Quinn a chance around then! And yeah Puppet Master really wasn’t my jam either haha thank you and omg yes she’s so awesome I was so honored that she asked me to be on her pod ☺️
Great Video, glad that you had a lot of fun with these. Lots of classics here, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought puppet master was a chore to get through lol. I'm actually ahead of my October watchlist... for now😄
Yeah I’m not opposed to watching more in the franchise, but the og Puppet Master definitely left a lot to be desired haha that’s awesome that you’re ahead on your watch list! It’s so easy to fall behind 🙈
@@WhataGhoulWants I guess i was just expecting a lot more from puppet master, sorta like the movie "Dolls". I'm not sure how many movies are in the puppet master franchise I just know it's a crazy amount lol.
Really fun video! There’s so many of my favorite movies here, so it was a good time to hear first reactions of them. And I’m especially stoked you enjoyed WAXWORK!
Hi Anna, just found your channel through your Letterboxd. Haven't had time to watch a lot of your videos, but this one is a lot of fun. My personal favorite 80's horror would obviously be The Thing, but then again, it's my favorite horror movie of all time. Good luck with your channel.
Omggg this video was so entertaining hearing the mini reviews. I haven’t checked many of these but some caught my eye ! Keep going more tear rankings pleaseee
I actually didn't know you did UA-cam videos! I follow your insta where you talk about classics from each year, but I'm psyched to see what you say about individual films :)
Great tier list my favourites from that list were The Fog, Christine gets better with every watch it stands on its own, love Night of the creeps and the blob too 👌🎥🎬great video… Special mention to the cinematography in Christine when he’s in the car with his girlfriend and it’s raining and she starts chocking I absolutely love the way it’s shot the aesthetic is fantastic 🧡🎬🎥👌one of my favourites
was fun to watch you go through all of these and review them on your letterboxd over the last month. & this is a good wrap up video! the blob belongs in the S-tier but i'm not mad at you though😊
Thanks Gavin! Haha I blame myself for choosing the lower quality version, I was so distracted by that that I think a rewatch is in order & that might bump it up 😉
The tombstone of Judith Myers in Halloween has the dates Nov. 10, 1947-Oct. 31 1963. She’s not even 16 yet and they show her partially nude in the opening scene. I’ve never seen anyone mention this at all.
@@WhataGhoulWants Oh for sure! I'm just teasing ya haha, nice list! Yeah so many horror films in the 80's. One underrated sleeper hit I always tell people to watch is The Hidden, fun movie. The reason why I personally love Child's Play and The Thing and The Blob as S tier personally is due to the animatronics being top tier, especially Chucky and The Thing it looks so real and delivers something that no modern day films can do with CGI. Just my take on it but also being an 80's and 90's kid maybe I'm a bit biased for that era. haha 😁😁
I saw Elvira in the theater with my mom :D Thankfully she didn't explain all the boob jokes to me. I have already seen all of these movies. I'm almost jealous that you have all of these 80's horror movies to explore and I am on Tubi trying to find current horror movies to watch this month. :D Later Anna!
@@WhataGhoulWants rad, I'm not sure if you'll like two of them but they sure are different. Poison for the fairies is like cute folk horror and I really love that movie
Can i help me! I want find a horror movie i watched in 1984, but i can’t remember name. A family moves into a new home or castle, couple have two kid, one boy and one girl. I remember two children walking in bridge and fall one coin and one scary hand (or devil hand) under bridge want pull them down. That's all I can remember.
@@WhataGhoulWants There's some great stop motion in puppetmaster. I literally fell asleep during waxwork. I like the idea but it's just too silly and not horror like to me. I like Zach Galligan but his performance in waxwork? Ugh I don't know.
The Fog, The Stuff, From Beyond and Puppet Master all definitely deserve to be higher in ranks. Especially The Stuff and From Beyond.
