Your artistic skills are excellent. Colour selection is one of the hardest parts of any artwork and you create so much realism with the colours you chose. Brilliant. I could watch your videos all day. 👍👍

Really like watching your updates, along with Everard Junction it's tempting me to go clear my loft out to make room for a layout. I really like the Class 20.

Excellent description of the work you are doing Dave. Uncomplicated and easy to follow. The start of the TMD looks great. Cheers, Bob

Great video That's a good idea having a mock up, will save a bit of grief getting it the way you want it to look. I had doubts too regarding acrylic paint, but bought some at Model Rail to try out and after using it earlier tonight, I'm quite happy with the results.

Cracking start to the TMD area! I can't wait to see how it all comes together as it's something I might be doing at some point soon!
I love the blinds that Scale Model Scenery have produced for you! Justin is so talented and it's amazing how responsive they are to what us modellers want.

Great update. I like the idea of pre-cut MDF hard standings rather than the polyfilla method - a lot cleaner! I will probably get some for my own TMD when I get to that part of my own layout.

The Tamiya paints are very good Like you I preferred enamels then last year my shop began to stock them and I tried some out. They can be sprayed without thinning and cover very well. I am using them more and more. As others have said Peaks ran into your area often so maybe you will get one now you have had a test run. Your fuel tanks look great. Looking forward to this new series very much.

Very nice video .Takes me back to Haymarket TMD in the late 70's early 80's. Recommend a few peaks on the layout they were frequent visitors to Edinburgh Waverely at the head of York to Edinburgh runs especially 45 039. I saw many on shed at Haymarket TMD

    Hi Dave
Super update, the Tmd is going to be an interesting project, I have tried to justify one on my layout but can't squeeze it in due to lack of space, a stabling points the best I can do.
I did a double take when I saw the Peak, big favourite of mine and good runner most of the time. A face lifted version would be more suitable than the split headcode for Dean Park, although the different variants did get around.
    Nice strapline for Dean Park.
    Cheers Paul

    Looking good Dave.
Dont go mad with dirt in the depot. (Especially the inspection pits). They dont actually get dirty (not really) so stick to less is more and it'll look better.
Peak looks nice, got a few myself. It's got a lot of bits missing though (detailing project there for someone).
You can get quite a few of the missing items from Brian at Shawplan.
Looking forward to seeing the next instalment of the depot build. See if I can get any tips or ideas for mine from what you do next.

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  5 років тому +1

Ah cool, I will keep that in mind with the grime. A light weathering of the pits then.... noted. I will try.
The Peak is just a visitor to the layout. Not mine. Looks ok though! Maybe in need of a re-tool?!

Overall the peaks from Bachmann are pretty good. It's just like every other model out there. The more you look at it, the more you see that's wants adding or adapting.

Amazing Dave, do you ever get anything wrong? I was watching you fit the component pieces down for the Depot base, and every piece fitted perfectly, it just leaved me with my jaw dropped...incredible skills and attention to detail, which brings me to the excellent tag line from 163 Squadron...brilliant!....Can't wait for the next upload....Bob

Hi Dave, Nice update & its looking good, I have two questions please, You say that you don't join the DCC wires back together, I thought they would be in a big loop, Can you show us how they look from start to finish please. & the second one is, I was looking at your layout & I was trying to work out what points you use are they Insulfrog or electrofrog points, I myself want to run DCC so which one is best? all the best from Appleby Linc's

Fantastic progress dave, you are certainly my inspiration for my layout, I'm in the process of a house move, and will be continuing my layout in the attic there, I have plans for a large TMD and HST serving depot, and will be following your progress intimately, with the hardstandings (i'm a bit deaf) did you get them laser cut or do them yourself, if laser cut can you tell me who dd them please. Keep up the great work. Kevin
