So then I have a couple ideas. 1. Is the day 1 extinction possible? If so, you can technically skip the engine and land in the forest of hope on day 2 without it. 2. What happens if you hack the day counter to 31 or higher? Will you immediately get the out of time when landing? What happens at day 0? 3. If you can get the engine on day 0, will day 1 in any other location play differently?
1. Day 1 extinction is possible, but you can't get to forest of hope on day 2 without a single ship part. I forget where a video is, but you can use momentum throws to get all your reds to drown in the water. The other 2 ideas could be interesting to test! The one problem is that they are impossible to see in actual gameplay, whereas overflowing the day in Pikmin 2 is technically possible, while highly impractical.
I have also heard that the Smoky Progg is also very glitchy when it climbs slopes and falls off, I believe it very slowly falls while hovering, maybe there is a way to trap it out of bounds, I dunno.

The main point of this video is that the segment of gameplay immediately after you pay the debt can be done in 0 minutes (theoretically), even though every run has spent a minute on this segment.
