Coraline End Song English Lyrics Analysis | Coraline Theory Part 22 - The Fangirl

- What in the world is that end song in Coraline about? Apparently, it's not French like I initially thought, it's gibberish. But there are translations (sort of) so let's discuss a new music theory!

The end song that plays over the credits of Coraline seems to be in French, but the English translation I use are:
Creaking is the door so gently
Side to side calling your name
Never ever ever ever open that door,
Things won’t be the same.
Crawling is the spider’s hand
Searching for its prey.
Soon you’ll be caught next and then,
Trapped in the spiders web.
Run, and save us,
Please mistress save us.
Oh, please save our souls
Find our eyes before the full moon
Make sure Other Mother doesn't find you
A button in the eye will surely curse you
The witch will eat you too!
Crawling is the spider's hand
Searching for its prey
Soon you'll be caught next and then
Trapped in the spider's web
And this song is WEIRD and full of analytical content!

I'm sooo happy there's another coraline theory
Same!
Me too
Same
Honestly I nearly cried when I saw a new coraline video ! 😂 to be honest the creepiest part of coraline for me is the fact that how alone Coraline is so alone during the movie . Really scared me as a kid
The book is even worse for that! She calls the police for help and they decide she's just pranking them and don't even check on her! 😱
The Fangirl I know !! 😱 if it wasn’t I book I’d be veryyy concern . Thankfully it is a book 😂 the book was all around more disturbing
Ella Jazz as an only child- it made it more realistic to us than the ones where it’s always a giant group of kids. Nothing ever happens when you’re all together. It’s when you’re alone and can pay attention to your surroundings that you notice stuff happening.
I still don't think Coraline is physically in the other world. "Save our souls." If she only ate then, why do their souls need saving?
Like you said in a previous video. The Belldamme doesn't need her eyes changed. She already shows her everything she wants her to see.
Creating a narrative where things are great, but in a decline toward terror. Sounds like a fly who is caught in a web and then is terrified into squirming around. That's how spiders sense caught prey.
Her game was bigger. She placed a false goal as a distraction. Look at the button eyes, not the fact that the world is a construct. I wish they made a part 2!
The "transformation" scene
The loving motherly 1 to the degrading and terrifying 3
I agree. Also love your profile picture
The scariest part was when the magic stick turned out to be poison oak
i love that your putting your face in your videos!! you’re so pretty and your theories always make my day:)
Awww, thank you so much Caroline! 💕u!
I just got to a point where my carpal tunnel is getting too messed up and the copyright claims for using only screenshots is getting insane - it's much harder for a company to claim my face, but I was horrified to make the change. Thank you so much again for the support, it means so much to me.
It’s been officially said that all the lyrics in all the songs are literally gibberish.
No that is the other song
@@niamhcaitlin9252 nope. It’s this one. This isn’t French, it’s gibberish with a random translation.
Maybe “run and save us” is a nod to the book were the ghost children tell Coraline to flee when she has only found two of the eyes.
“Flee, miss,” wailed a girl’s voice in her head. “Flee, now. You have two if us. Flee this place while your blood still flows.”
-Coraline, Neil Gaiman
I've watched so many of your videos with your face and I still can't believe this is your actual voice. You have a wonderful voice. Most ppl like me would think it's just voice over or something. XD
You are way too nice Samuel! 😘 Can I just wrap you up and deliver you to my high school music teacher who rejected me every single year for show choir? lol
@@TheFangirlWatches yeah sure. XD I was rejected too but that was my fault for getting bad grades. I so love your channel. U think u can do some more theories on Frangled. The fact that Elsa and punzie maybe twins. Yes the Tangled series revealed Fflynn was a prince and Cass was the evil one to go against punzie but I still have a sliver of hope left that Elsa will be talked about. Idk y.
Woah! What I'm reading here is that I need to go visit my dad's house and binge season 2. I cancelled cable a while ago so I don't know anything past the scroll, but that sounds amazing!!!
@@TheFangirlWatches yeah. It is. I won't spoil anything else. But you can always check it out on UA-cam. I am so obsessed with the songs! This is why I wish I could pay for Pandora bc songflip is the only app I can use that if u play the song on wifi u can play it outside of wifi. Not all songs u look up r gonna be there tho.
@@TheFangirlWatches do you think a crossover between the School for Vampires and Coraline ?
Ohhhh so that's what the song say
I thought they Just invented a language to singing
But owwww
Pd: that song is confusing, too many contraditions.
No, I think it's just French - although it would be soooo cool if they did make their own language so no one could ever figure out the song. Then we could say they were singing in Beldam-ese or something!
they did its a mix of languages and translators are bs depending on the one u use
I’m pretty sure it is a made up language! I speak some French and looking at the original song those definitely aren’t words in French or grammatically well structured sentences... apparently there’s an interview with someone from behind the movie that confirmed it’s gibberish!
legacy.aintitcool.com/node/39977 this is the article with the interview! Idk who these people are claiming it’s French but as someone who knows some, a proper French version of some of the lyrics would be (i only did a few lines bc my french is kinda rusty havent practiced in a few months)
Official song:
Oosi An Tweeban Retiso
Neh-Neh Fehreeden
Sindwee Bin Doh
Supposed English:
Find our eyes before the full moon,
The witch will eat you too!
French (approximately):
Trouves nos yeux avant la lune pleine
La sorcière va te manger aussi!
i will say the singing definitely has a French accent to it so I can see why people think its French,, I believe the composer Bruno Coulaiso is French and it was sung by The Children of the Choir of Nice so that might be part of it!
anyway sorry for spamming but i thought this was interesting to share!
@@TheFangirlWatches i did some research which by that i mean i watched a video on the lyrics and in the description of the video theres a link to a interview with the creator of the film we're he state that the lyric are just giberish
I personaly understood the lyrics a bit differently.
The first verse for me means that the "door", or better "doors" to the other world are alredy open. Sure, the dore Coraline goes troug is loked, but things like the cat and mise still can enter the otherworld meaning that there are open doors.
Ckreeking and calling out your name indicates to me that the otherworld is calling out to Coraline, using the doll and the rats.
Don't open the door is focusing on the door Coraline uses to actually enter the other world.
Asking her to safe the kinda sounds to me like "if you alredy got yourselfe in this situation, please help us".
And concidering the button eyes part it makes it sound to me that the other mother can only feat on the children once they have button eyes, and it seems like they need to agree to get them becouse otherwhise she would have just forced Coraline to get button eyes. So getting the button eyes is kinda like a curse since it seems like you can't escape the other world without real eyes (Becouse otherwhise the ghost children would have probably alredy moved on or would have hounted the real world pink palace as well).
But those are just my interpretations and theorys.
this is not the most acouret version because it is a whole made up language based on others. it is a mix of A few, and also it depends on the translator she used.
Fantabulous. TV Jerome exactly
Wybies creepy stitched up face was scary
It was! But it's really one of the lesser freaky moments - that whole movie was like "WHAT THE HECK?! WHO DECIDED TO FUND THIS FOR CHILDREN?!" lol
its one of my favourites my brother and i always say the other fathers line bc it disturbed us so much as children!
Yes! So creepy. Why did they add wybie to the movie? I guess so shes not talkong to herself the whole time? Idk.
The creepiest part of coraline for me was the climax. The part where the beldam was chasing coraline in the spiders web still scares me lol. Great vid BTW!
Omg YESSSS thank you so much
Like really... Thank you
lol I'm squeezing every ounce of content out of this Coraline video series. Not a single frame overlooked! 😂
As I literally just finished making that song my ringtone

@@TheFangirlWatches hi do you think you and the theroizer could do a coraline theory combining all of your theories
Stephanie Ramirez clearly
@@Crumpled_Towelie hi
Ending credits are just complete gibberish but the song writer is french and he wanted the song to sound french thats why it feels like french
Oh, is it not in French?
The Fangirl no it’s not
On the DvD, the beginning of the song is played on a loop at the main menu screen.
Scariest part: when the Other Bobinski turns out to be rats in his suit. The way they rat pose on the ball.
Could you do a theory on Pan's Labyrinth? So much imagery and the ending is really open to interpretation...
Many of what you were calling "contradictions", really aren't.
Closed doors can creak and otherwise make noise, just depends on the condition of the door and its hinges as well as other outside factors such as wind or other forces acting on the door; just like how a house can creak at night when nothing seems to be going on. With that in mind, the first part could line up with the beginning of the film if the door hadn't been painted shut (which it was exactly so it would be less noticeable and not be opened, thus unable to make its ambient creaking noised while closed) or a warning for the next child since the door is no longer painted shut. Or like your said where the BelleDame is literally calling after her and shaking the door...but that is more so pounding/shaking of the door rather than a gentle creaking cased by a settling house or draft.
You can curse someone for long or short term (death curse anyone?) and one could be cursed to be trapped so that they are then easier to kill. I feel like you should have tried to plug more of your own theories into this because it would work quite well xD Such as (the one you did sorta mention) with Coraline never actually leaving and still being in the Other World.
Also, the ghosts could be telling her to hurry (or "run") and save them. Telling her to be quick, but also that they want desperately to be saved all the while making sure she knows the risks. It could be that they're trying to confuse her since, as you've theorised, they could be under the BelleDame's control but thought I'd offer up that alternative. Afterall the contradiction to running would be to stay or hide, not to go and save people/s since one can run while doing that.
Also, someone being called a spider and a witch isn't contradictory. People can be called many things to try and describe what a person is like, and it's not as if spiders and witches don't have an association. The children could have been eluding to the witches true nature; since not all witches are evil :v and she does initially come off as more of someone a bit magical rather than something malevolent. She's kind of like a platonic yandere xD hahahaha ~
I think that was all I noticed xD I love your theories, but I really feel this one could have used a bit more...trying to link it back to your other theories(??)
P.S. Lovely job with singing the song ~
Oooo I just realized that the first time Coraline goes to the otherworld the other mother says "let's play hide and seek " and if you really think about it that is exactly what happens throughout the movie, she has to find her mum and dad, the ghost eyes, and even the doll. and the other mother disappears while Coraline is making the deal with her. so maybe that has something to do with the line "make sure the other mother doesn't find you"
The parts that scared me and my twin sister are
number 1: when coraline refuses to apologize and the beldame starts counting
Number 2: when Coraline is crawling through the crawl space for the final time to go home and the door begins closing in on her while the beldame is screaming for Coraline to come back
okay I cannot remember if you said this or not but I just came to a theory what if the beldams hand was going into the "normal world" to get the key because the well was the only way back to the normal world so Coraline throwing the key down that well means it's going back to the real world like I said I cannot clearly remember if you said this or not but I just came up with this theory and was kind of mind-blowin so I thought I should share it with y'all have a great day love you fangirl ❤️
I will be very honest, it's been a hot minute since I've watched all my theory videos on Coraline, so I'm not sure either if that's something I said. I don't THINK it is, but old memory is old, lol.
@@TheFangirlWatches okay... You just made my day I didn't expect you to reply have a wonderful day
I do aim to please, so that makes my day to make your day! :D
😍😍 I love your theories! My baby girl LOVES Coraline and it's nice to get into it with her ❤
Oh it's a great movie to get into with kids! My son says I gave him PTSD with this movie, but making my daughter watch it with me is why I started making these theories (and she loves it!). 😂
After this song in the credits there’s a reprise of Dreaming, which first plays during the doll making and the beldam sings along too. And in this reprise the beldam isn’t singing along so I assume she’s dead.
Also I heard the French say the song sounds like Czech. Or maybe the song is gibberish?
I always thought it was a mixture of different languages to leave a mystery on the movie
John Morgan yeah it’s just gibberish
Don't know if anyone has says this yet, but I think its important to be said. The line that says the witch will eat you too I think makes perfect sense. You said that if the Beldam was to eat the children and Coraline she wouldn't have spent so much time with her and would've instead killed her at the start. The Beldam doesn't need the children body or soul, she needs the children love. Which is why she creates this whole alternate world that seems so much better than the children mundane lives, to make them love her more than her parents and lure them in. The more the childerns love for the Beldam is when she puts button eyes on them, the longer she can survive in the other world. Hope that makes sense!! Love your Coraline theories :))
OH. MY. GOODNESS! ANOTHER CORALINE THEORY?! I’ve been watching your old one for a long time and now there’s a new one 🤯
Yeah, it feels like forever since I covered Coraline. I always feel like "this will be my last video," and then it's like, "well, I haven't covered this bit yet." lol
The scariest part of the movie was at the end when the cat disappeared and then a few minutes later when me and my cousins were looking for a new movie and then we heard a loud meow and then we looked where it came from and it was my cousin’s cat getting our attention because she somehow forgot to or didn’t feed her a lot
The creepiest scene for Coraline for me was when the other mother turned into the beldam the soul is button eyes did not help!🙀😱
Oh that is a great scary moment!
My creepiest part of coraline is the grandma she is never seen until coraline is trapped when she calls for him she sounds very distant until the well she is louder i believe she is trapped
How are you so pretty? 🤩
Ummm... flattery will get you EVERYWHERE, new best friend, lol.
X3
More like fugly
@@user-th1yj5vj7i wut
@@user-th1yj5vj7i don't be rude
I think "cursed" could be referring to have their souls trapped forever
I could be wrong, but I remember reading that the composer for the movie (and the choir) specialize in gibbirish or songs that sound like a mix of languages which aren't translatable. I always thought this gave the movie a more whimsical and mysterious feel!
Holy crapola! Just when I thought I would never get to see another Coraline theory video! Yeeee!! Super excited! Oh, and the scariest scene to me was probably the end when I realized she hadn't gotten back to the real world and I don't know... Everything was calm and not scary at all but it just creeped me out to no end knowing it was all an illusion. Anyway, got your have a great day, girl! Cheers! Also THANK YOU for yet another Coraline video! It made my day!! 😄😁
I've got a few more video ideas for Coraline up my sleeve, but I feel like I've milked this movie so hard that I need to find something else people want to hear about. Pretty soon it'll be Coraline Part 87 😂
Thanks for dropping by to watch! I hope it was worth the loooong wait!
@@TheFangirlWatches Oh my glob, of course it was worth it! (Also, I'm 110% sure your subscribers wouldn't mind an 87 video-long Coraline album to watch... hehehee) 😁

Creepiest part for me when beldam bangs on the door and what she says while doing it but I mean it's all creepy but I love creepy.
Ive watched all of your coraline videos at least twice. love them!
yay she's back. i really love these coraline theories❤
The creepiest part of the movie is when Coraline finally escaped and the other mother screams don’t leave me
maybe “run” (at 3:50 (+-) & 6:43) doesn’t mean “run for your life” but more “hurry, save us quickly”
Coraline never creepied me out,so I have never found any of the scenes creepy.
Yaaasssss more coraline! Thank you!
Thank you for coming over to watch! :D And your name looks really cool, Caiah!
I never thought of it that way you opened my EYES get it get it
I’ll leave now
I think the song refers to the most hype and scary part of the movie where Coraline escapes Beldam's web and is getting out of the tunnel.
The ghost children are helping her and she is sorta helping them get free by bringing their eyes to the real world.
Also I think that scene supports your changing tunnel theory as we literally see the tunnel transform and become shorter..... (unlike how it looked like it was unraveling or opening up before)
The Beldam could still be keeping children for "meals" because IIRC they said "ate away our lives"
So maybe she keeps them for long and "eating away" is like slowly eating and not just gobbling up at once. Maybe that's the way she survives? And I'm guessing she has to keep them alive for as long as she can so they don't rot(yes I have a dark mind)
But then again theory of her feeding on their "magic" is also plausible.
Finally. I’ve been waiting for this 🎉
I love your channel so much! I have been watching you for about 1 year and a half now, I like all of your theories but I LOVE the Coraline theories, the scariest part of Coraline is watching it after seeing your theories😂! The pink palace limbo, fake ghost children, all the timeline, Wybie being a fairy etc... it just makes it that extra bit freaky and creates an extra layer beneath the innocent kids movie, I also. Have an extension to your theory about IT and The Beldam, at the end of Chapter 2 in the movie IT (or roughly page 900-1000 in the book) IT (pennywise) states ‘you all taste so much better when you’re afraid!’ - this may be a link as the beldam likes to play and mess with its meal and prey, I think playing with its prey makes it tastes better or makes her feel better that the kid dies in fear, once again I love you!
Love your new style of fimling videos! I would love to see theories on Hill House on Netflix or explainations about a lot of the spooky stuff that happens and the physic connection the mother and all the children have and how the house plays on it 😍
I think the whole point of letting coraline leave and come back is that way coraline would want to be there. You catch more flies with honey instead of vinegar. I also think the way the belldame feeds from the children is a slow drawn out process feeding off thier love. Which is probably why she can go so long in between children.
Nice to see you're still doing Coraline theories.
Yayyyy we are back with coraline ! Also the creepiest parts of coraline for me was when the belldem grabs her nose and throws her in the mirror and when she makes her web appear but coraline escape!
The creepiest part for me is having my soul eaten by a spider lady and having buttons for eyes.
Edit: oh snap! Hearing you singing that song gives me the chills. Beautiful but creepy.
I really enjoy your videos! You always have such interesting and profound ways of looking at things.
Thank you so much! 💕
I love the Coraline theory it’s my favorite of all💕💕💕
Yasss back at it with these theories 💙
I love your vids and coraline I think it’s the end when the other mother becomes bigger and scarier
Oh yeah, the Beldam definitely gets more deformed as time goes on. 😱
Yea and thxs soo much the fangirl for replying to me it makes my day :D I’m a HUGE fan!
How can I not reply after you made the cutest fan art/avatar ever for me? 💕 You are awesome!
the fact you said its MUCH less creepy when you speak it-
it must be freaking terrifying when sung
((I cant remember the end song since I seen it so long ago, though I am familiar with the movie**))
Lol always here for a Coraline video
I hope it was worth the wait - I know it's been a while since the last one.
The first part is telling coraline about the door, and to never ever ever ever ever open up that door because things aren’t what they really are.
Crawling is the spiders hand which is in refrance to the end sequence where the hand is search ring for her.
The next part is explaining thr dungeon.
The next part is explaining the song as. To make sure the other mother (specifically her creations don’t find her.
This is the bst explaination of the song.
I found the scene where Coralines parents disappear the creepiest. I mean it's not necessarily the scariest visual, but the idea of her thinking she is finally safe and then discovering she is completely alone..as a kid i always feared loosing my parents so i guess that's why it hits me the hardest.
I’ve been watching coraline since I was 4 and at that time the scariest thing was when the Beldam takes coraline by the ear and drags her through the hallways and throws her into the wall
I think the placement of the song indicates that it is being sang to us, rather than Coraline
Yay more Coraline! Btw your voice is great!!
I was watching the movie the other day on tv, and the captions for the credits song said "Children Singing Nonsense" I actually find the song itself the creepiest moment in Coraline, since it's sort of beautiful but haunting melody that gets kind of stuck in your head, and you just don't know what it means!
Interesting theory as always!
Oh, and since you take requests for theories, and mostly cover animation, could you please please do some sort of theory on the Disney series Wander over Yonder? It's a cute little show that aired around the same time as Gravity Falls, and had a lot of hidden character development for the show's canceled third season. If you look it up online you can find tons of hints from the writer Frank Angonez and his tumblr and put them together, Thanks!
The scary part is when other mother and coraline were fighting also I love your coraline theorys
You are totally right the song translation refer to tug on anyone's heart string without knowing that the Beldame is still the spider in the web at the end of the movie trying to keep Coraline as prey
Keep up the great work! Love your content ❤️
First! Also great analysis👍👍 I love your videos🤩😁 keep up the good work, fangirl❤️❤️❤️
Thanks! I'll do my best. And double thanks for coming to watch so fast!
Hey thanks so much for loving my comment!! ❤️ You’re the best theorist in my opinion!🤩
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssss! I have really wanted someone to do this especially you. For me the scariest part of coraline is the other father as a pumpkin for some reason x
Oh no, you don't need to say "for some reason," that deformed pumpkin-man freaks me out too!
The Fangirl he's really weird isn't he 😂
Notice all the portals go wither up or down like the doors tunnel and well. But at the end the cat goes through a portal sideways, and a door slams. Sounding like its trapping you in.
I think the creepiest part of coraline is when the other mother dives into her web and she’s laughing and then start screaming
That whole last 30 minutes is so freaky!
The Fangirl Thanks for responding
when i was little the part that creeped me out the most was her playing the game where she tried to find the eyes of the ghost children
I really like your coraline theory’s. I am a huge coraline!
English Lyrics:
Creaking is the door so gently
Side to side calling your name
Never ever ever ever open that door,
Things won’t be the same.
Crawling is the spider’s hand
Searching for its prey.
Soon you’ll be caught next and then,
Trapped in the spiders web.
Run, and save us,
Please mistress save us.
Oh, please save our souls
Find our eyes before the full moon
Make sure Other Mother doesn't find you
A button in the eye will surely curse you
The witch will eat you too!
Crawling is the spider's hand
Searching for its prey
Soon you'll be caught next and then
Trapped in the spider's web
You could also take the song as the Beldam’s manipulation. The contradictions are due to the ‘people’ in the other world voicing their true thoughts and then when they contradict themselves it’s the Beldam controlling or manipulating them. For example in the Ghost Children line where they tell her to run, but then plead with her to save them could be interpreted as the Ghost Children telling Coraline to run but then the Beldam makes them tell Coraline to stay and find their eyes.
A spider wouldn't lurer you, it would just sit and wait Patiently for you to come and get stuck.
The scariest point to me is the don’t leave me part that mortified me as a child
You’re a really good singer. The scariest part for me is when the living room (in the other world) becomes a spider web.
When I saw you posted not only posted but posted Coraline! I clicked so fast. And I think the scariest part of Coraline is when Coraline gets out of the door in the end and the other mother is screaming "Dont leave me! Dont leave me! I'll die! dont leave me!" That was pretty scary.
That part made me scream when I first watch it. I was like "why is this so scary! It's for kids!" 😂
Idk if it's the creepiest part, but the part that scared me the most back in the day was the "I'll give you to the count of 3" part. Specifically I was covering my eyes when it got to "threeeeeeeeeee".idk it really scared me maybe it was because up until then the beldam sounds really calm but at that instance she just freaks out.
Made it to the end.
Is this the song played in the opening as well? Because I’ve been trying to figure out the lyrics to that. If they are the same then the first verse would actually sorta be a warning about the door saying no matter how much it calls your name and feeds into your curiosity if you want things to remain the same and be safe you yourself or in the case of who the song is talking to Coraline should never open the door herself. Even if it’s already open and creaking you shouldn’t open it farther and go through.
When I heard the lyrics I was just like okay, so it’s saying don’t open the door farther and don’t go in and then was kinda confused by you saying it contradicts itself since the door is already open.
I guess because to me it just made sense that it was saying no matter how much it tempts you don’t open it the rest of the way and go in. I’ve heard doors that are barely open creek in the wind, even doors that appear closed due to the houses age and the foundation settling.
Regardless I really liked the analysis and you really do seem to be onto something. Kinda wish they’d make a sequel with an older Coraline realizing that she never escaped and having to escape for real this time.
I think I know what song you're talking about, but I believe it's different. The tempo and rhythm seem a lot different in my head at least. I could be wrong, but it would make a lot more sense in the beginning.
I made it to the end of the video. Just thought you should know that was heavenly singing.
I have tried “light theorizing” about the songs. Your analysis is quite interesting.
I’m typsy but it’s crazy finally seeing your fact with your voice
i heard this song on Pandora, but i don't remember hearing it in the movie at all. even if you can't find it playing in the movie you can find it in the sound track.
Originally this movie was suppose to be a musical, but they changed their minds during production!
saddest moment in my childhood was when i found out tim burton didn’t direct coraline
Yay!!!! I love these Coraline theory's!!!
I would say the scariest part to me in Coraline isn’t actual any of the visuals(which ARE very scary too)but the fact that the Beldam has killed so many children and how many children will continue to go missing after Coraline
the creepiest thing is the beginning sound kinda weird but I like it.
Like the music is really creepy in there but the intro is just awesome
Omgggg yayyyyyy I love your Coraline conspiracies❤️
i remember in 7th grade i used to play this song so much idk y it was so nice to hear
I'll never be tired of Coraline theories. 💜
Then you are why I'm here 💕
Your hair is so pretty!!!
The scariest part is when Coraline is trying to close the other door for the last time
The creepiest part in my opinion is the dads song and the button eye gift. Can you put the playlist in release date order please. Love your videos. *the singing was so cute thank you
okay so i want to preface this with: im not great at interpretation when it's left up to me, but this is kind of what i got from the song, and it's a little negating towards your contractions, so i'm not sure if i'm playing devil's advocate or what i interpreted it as, rip anyways:
1st verse:
i took it as like she's already opened it and then she's getting the warning, sort of how she did in the movie. like she had a couple warnings (which should have been enough to begin with but she obVIOUSLY still went in soooo), but after she "came back out," she got MORE warnings. so it could be like "creaking side to side, enticing you, oh, but we're danger in disguise, and you've fallen for our trap." but she went through the door anyways, and the last line, the "nothing will ever be the same" supports the limbo theory, but could also be a "you won't know until it's too late" without actually saying it and just sounds contradictory.
this isn't specific to the second verse, but more what you said about them calling her two different things (a witch and a spider):
i think it's more than entirely possible, and actually likely, that the beldam is more than one creature at once, and even a little of what the creators mixed in to make her just this awful, horrifying thing, and she obviously resembles a spider in many, many ways and has serious ties to spiders. but she also has magic, and sort of "concocts things," if you will, not necessarily potions, but worlds and people and really whatever she wants, however witch could also mean the "evil like a witch" (rude stereotyping witches like that, but it is a variant of being a witch) so i think both spider and witch are accurate descriptions for her, and neither are necessarily wrong or contradicting.
for the 3rd verse:
yeah i agree it kind of sounds like manipulation, but it could also be "we don't want you to get stuck hre, but even though we're dead, things are still bad, and we just want to rest peacefully, so please grant us that as our dying wish
Have You Ever Thought About How When Coraline Eats The Food The Other Mother Prepares She's Just really Eating Spider Webs?
You say there’s no point in her letting coraline go back and fourth but we know the other mother loves to play games. Messing with coraline in this cat and mouse way is her playing her game. She doesn’t just want to eat she wants to play. Which I think makes things even creepier. She knows there is risk in playing instead of just eating but she’s so confident in herself she truly doesn’t believe she can lose. That’s why she screams at coraline as a cheater when she throws the cat at her. She truly believes she wouldn’t loose unless coraline is cheating at the game.
OH. MY. GOODNESS! ANOTHER CORALINE THEORY?! 💙💚
Yes! This has to be at least #30 if you count all the side theories and Laika videos, lol.
You have a BEAUTIFUL singing voice! 😍😊
I am thinking maybe one side of the lyrics that talk about a witch may be an old legend and the other side may be the victims singing. Since the house is old and older communities are tight knit, there could have been rumors about an old witch snatching children (a common old saying to keep children behaved) and those rumors being true, but instead of a witch it is a spider.
