Great episode Crew, such a relaxed vibe. You'll love the return trip, Def check out the Olgas and spend 2 days in Cooper Pedy, there is some crazy fun stuff there.😁 Quick Heads up, watching this in an ED with a sick kid - Trying to distract myself from sleep. Apologies in advance! Hey Jed, There is bacon loads of pigs in the SW now mate! All along the waterways you will find them. They are baiting them like the Foxes trying to slow them down, but there is shed loads and they are ripping stuff up FWIW. 17:22 - 0.270 rounds? 80 grainers and 60's on top? Or 100's with some 80's X's? Looked like a nice bag of lollies to say hello sunshine's! Bloody Hell 18:35 was that an Air B&B for Pigs? You'll be eating Bolognese for months 🤣🤣. 6.5's Hey? What are they like to shoot Jed? Shot .270 and .308's , Love the .308 it is a work of art. Folks recon that the 6.5's are next level? What's the recoil like? LMAO, Split the crowd, cancel culture, OmG, the world we are traversing. I have often wondered whether instead of military conscription an alternative of spending the same amount of time on primary producing property's might actually balance out some of peoples alternative realities and give them a reference point / perspective. I'm so laughing, you have a crew of 7-9 to cook for. That sounds like my Sunday job, as the teenagers and friends keep re spawning at ours! Stew, Spag, Curry, Soup all seem to be a weekly go too LMAO! Never thought I would be using the crab cooking pot to make bulk dinner food!! Recipes are easy though - the math is simple - 1kg of onions, 4 kgs of mince, 1 whole glove of garlic, 2 kgs of tomatoes....and so on🤣😁! Love the vege patch, hate the snails and caterpillars and the Broc eating Rats Grrrr! 34:06 Here's a new word for you Jed, I learnt it from a cray fishing mate at the Abrolhos - "confuckery" I love it! But don't ever ask me what a Midget Twister is!! (BTW - Having a "bougie" comes from a person who indulges in some of the luxuries and comforts of a fancy lifestyle. AKA the "bourgeois". ) Having a Shower in the NT is a luxury LOL! 🤣. 37:14 The "not a knife" has produced a new word - When you travel 4000 Clays! 😱🤣😁. Just Pizzing myself watching this, needed the laugh, thanks heaps you crew! Have a ripper weekend where eva you are! Stay safe, have fun, enjoy life! 👊🖐👍🍻🤗
Hey there Mr Dave! Cheers for the read 👌 and hope all is on the mend with you kid mate! No bloody good Yeah I use a 6.5x55 mostly 140grain and use a few 156grain. I have a Tikka T3X varmint, lovely bit of gear and just nice to shoot and does a good job. Makes me look skilled! 😄 Yeah would love to get onto some properties down south that holds pigs, I hate they use 1080, such a shit way to control them. They suffer for days. Yeah mate it's a good size crew! We are 10 plus 2 kids most of the time now which is perfect 👌. Thanks again Dave and hope all is good 👍!
Good time to get your camera out mate. Night sky would be fantastic there. I also love gardening. Just finding it hard to find the time these days. I just pulled my cherry tomatoes out a few weeks ago. I have celery growing all over the place. Pumpkins is also something easy to do. You'll have a sip of GN and you'll turn back. I just know it. Can't beat it. Great vid Jed and Kel. Keep up the good work. Might be some yabbies in that water behind you both. Give it a shot 🦞 👌
Hey Nath! Yeah cheers mate 👍 🍻. Yeah will have to get into night photography for sure! That's it mate, it's all about time. We have pulled a few yabbies out but haven't found enough worthy of a feed...keep looking for the honey hole! Haha Have a good weekend 👍👍
@oldmate_adventures better than my squid hunt yesterday haha. You also have a great weekend mate. I'm going to do some tidy up on my boat. Get it ready for sale. So looking forward to getting my tinny. 👌
How bloody good was this episode👍👍👍, great introductory to liv'n outback, on a station 👍👍👍 Great insight to life working, living, and doing what is required on the land. I know swinging a camera around during working hours isn't ideal but would love to see a full day, teams comes in, eats grub, goes to work, then looks forward to dinner come stumps time 🍺🍺🍺Kell would be in "Golden Hour", loved by all 👍👍👍 Propagation of new veg is awesome , if ya don't plant, ya dont eat 😁, plant anything you can, ya got the right climate, smash it 👍👍👍 Ferals = well we all know what's right, some don't, but 💣💣💣them, Too bad they can't be consumed Your both living the dream🥂, taking a hit in the pocket but this is where you may learn more than life in a higher demanding role 🤔Swap ya any day if I didn't have to pay the ferryman🤔🤔🤔 Cheers Andy🍺🍺🍺
Cheers Andy and thanks so much for the feedback! Much appreciated!! 🤜🤛 For sure mate, we might chuck a whole episode together with a full day out but I just try not to film others too much. See how we go! Have a great weekend Andy 🍻👍

Hi Jed n Kel great to see ya enjoying your selves. Jed with the capsicum easier way to grow upwards is run a wire on top n across the 2 stakes then use bail twine double the height ground too wire ,then drop 1 1/2 loose down to main stem lock off gently to bottom of the stem 3" above grnd then loop around to the strongest big stem training it upwards, then if you have to many week stems remove that way you can grow taller n better product. Happy gardening.

@@oldmate_adventures retired goat cheese producer for markets and only one hive now😆 so now have time to take off in the van😃 goat free ! We miss them though
@@oldmate_adventures we are in Tassie so hanging out for Spring to venture out again, yes you can make hard cheese with goats milk, nice and crumbly cheese akin to Wensleydale, we mainly did a soft creamy cheese with our goats milk. We found it’s the quality of the milk makes the best cheese, we loved our goats milk but I know some farmers milk tasted goaty ! and I couldn’t drink it. Usually cos they had a buck on the property. Finally some hunting…..well sort of 😂…….there’s a beautiful concrete boat ramp less than 2 hrs from heartbreak…..only around 3K’s of dirt road south of bing bong load out facility at mule creek…..can catch everything from tuna to Barra if you’re having salt water withdrawals….but don’t tell anyone 👌

Can I ask, before starting station work did you already have your bobcat ticket? What types of “endorsements” would you recommend to someone thinking about doing station work.
Hey mate, narr mate had never driven one before this job. Endorsements would just be keen to give anything a go, we have had a fair bit of farming experience in the past and worked on cattle stations years ago but most mustering crews are first timers just having a crack. 👍👍 Senior first aid is pretty good to have though.
