I love the Pine Barrens was just in there on Mount Misery road the other day. Have you noticed this about those woods, that there's no deer's or wildlife especially when you go into the deeper parts? Also at night it's super quiet no bugs or animals. I believe there is definitely something back there, I've heard and seen strange things back there.
I've been on this road the last summer. Was walking on foot and got two ticks and decided to get back to the car 😆 Definitely, now is the best time to wander in woods
@@walkingcam1 Ever been on Mount Misery road? You should do that at night, that place is creepy as hell, even during the day it doesn't have a good vibe.

@@walkingcam1 The pines aren't as tame as many would like to believe. There are many wild animals in increasing numbers that are capable of giving people a bad moment. You can also stumble upon people that are living off the radar who would rather not be detected. Going into the pines alone can be a good idea until it's not. Especially at night all lit up.

You can still hear the highway sounds and airplanes. That's a comfort at least, that you're near civilization. But still too far for anyone to hear you scream. Unless you went with 30 people as backup, you're one brave soul. I'd also be freaking out about ticks and spiders. Eww, shivers at the thought of them.
Hello neighbor ! What i found in WiKi when was making the research: "The Black Dog is a ghostly creature said to roam the beaches and forests from Absecon Island to Barnegat Bay. In most folklore (such as English and Germanic folklore), black dog ghost are malevolent or considered forces of evil. However, the Black Dog of the Pine Barrens is often considered a harmless spirit. According to folklore, pirates on Absecon Island attacked a ship and killed its crew. Among those killed were the cabin boy and his black dog"

At the beginning when you were walking past stone ruins, that looked like the Hampton Furnace cranberry farm ruins. I have lived in the pine barrens near Batsto for almost 40 years and have never experienced anything scary or creepy. A couple times in the 80s I got my truck stuck way out in the woods at like 10 pm, and walked out for many hours without a flashlight. There was nothing scary. At the end that's not actually a log cabin. The exterior walls are covered with "slabs", which is what you get when the round parts of a log are cut off in the sawmill. It wasn't that long ago when that house was still lived in.
Hi! Yes, it was Hampton Furnace. When i came across i didn't know what this place called. Agree about nothing scary. The worst thing there, i believe, is tons of deer ticks. After any every hike thru the Barrens i catch a dozen sneaking on me. That timber house is located in Atsion vicinity. Not sue if it's still owned, but i decided not to break in the door to film interior.
