@@jasonsadventures64 I can still remember the sounds of my mother's 1963 600 series Kenmore with that bakelite straight vain agitator and thumb nail cap and the waterfall filter. Classic Whirlpool sounds through and through.
This is exactly the perfect washer I really want right now. It's my favorite washer from since I was 10 years old. I was madly in love with this spectacular washer hand made by the one and only whirlpool. I extend my greatest gratitude for a job well done. Thank you and continue to make the greatest progress ever made.😊. Julio.
This is indeed supreme compared to all these junk HE washers that stir your clothes around without scrubbing them. Beautiful rollover. This is what a real washer looks like.
Congratulations on finding this Whirlpool Belt Drive Super Capacity #18 Washer! Here is to many more years of washing in good health! The Curved Flex Vane Agitator and the 210 degree agitation stroke in the Speed Queen TC5 reminds me of the Whirlpool Double Duty Super Surgilator with wings and the Maytag PowerFin Agitator & Maytag Long Slow Stroke Pitman Transmission. My SQ TC5 has comparable washing action and capacity to this Whirlpool BD washer.
@@robertgwisdala5795 Thank you Rob. I bought a Speed Queen washer back on 2013. Model AWN432 and like you said the agitator reminded me of a Surgilator and a Powerfin combined. Was a great washer I had for 7 years and gave it up before I moved to another house.
8 Towels of this size is a good size load for this machine. Maybe 9 in the KA due to the DAA. I do between 11-13 towels this size per load in my SQ FL.
Thanks for sharing this video Of a absolutely perfect washer, Oh my goodness I wish they'd bring them back, what year did you say it was? I would sure love to have one, !!!!!!!
I don't know but Whirlpool thought it was definitely good enough to use for 40 years. Those wavy vains must have something to do with it. Not only that, they just have a really cool design..lol
@@patcola7335 I think you'll be surprised. I sometimes loaded-up our 1976 Supreme 80 notably more than you're doing and there was always rollover ... and it had a regular Surgilator, not a Double-Duty.
@@DADoESofTX The one in your 76 had the Super Surgilator but it had the 18lb version ? No ? Where the fins flared out from under the cap instead of the being tapered ? I've seen that agitator in a beautiful harvest Gold color Whirlpool imperial Mark, 18 washer that a couple of people on the site have. That's the agitator I want to get for this machine.
@@DADoESofTXthis machine was loaded quite full, Glenn. Any more and think it’ll put strain on the mechanism. Since I’ve been through mine and saw the gears basically had ZERO wear on them, just shows that when you are diligent with something, it’ll last a long, long time. Plus, they have been in my family since new, sort of. Since I had a conversation with my grandfather awhile back, his father (my great grandfather) had a appliance and TV shop in Fallbrook CA, sold RCA Whirlpool appliances and TVs back in the 1960’s. Since the dryer is not a Mark XII but matches the Mark XII washer, sounds like something my great grandfather would have ordered since it was cheaper than the Mark XII dryer along with being less complex.
@@seana806 I disagree. Whirlpool used the same transmissions in residential and coin-op models, belt-drive and direct-drive versions. Coin-ops are much more subject to fully loading-up (and overloading) than residential usage. The mechanisms are well-able to handle it.
Love the woo-woos and the grind-click-clunks. The soundtrack of my childhood.

That whirlpool was a good one.
Lovely wash action as always!

And the steady "woo" during the drain and spin cycles!!!

nice video pat
I love these machines and especially with these Surgilator agitators. So many great memories of my childhood and of great quality.
I’m looking to get the 18 pound Surgilator that came out just before these did in 78.
Cleared itself of the suds lock beautifully. Weird though how it didn’t suds lock on the first spin but on the rinse.
Thanks for the video Pat. Truly an amazing machine. Meant to ask you earlier, do you plan on getting the dual action version for this?
If I can find one.
God bless you. I'd like to see the various speeds. That's my special request.
