Top class as usual nath, looked like you both had a great trip, loved the clip of Chris trying to pick that fish up,looked like he was trying to pick up a bar of soap In a prison shower lol
What a lovely boat, and hats off to you Nathan for your usual professional quality video, just out of interest did you fly or drive, as the ferry from North Shields to Norway has long gone of course, which was a big loss.
It was a cracker of a boat, I'd quite like to swap mine for one now. I flew from Edinburgh to Tromso, the camp is 20 minutes from Tromso so they picked us up. I hear they're starting that route back up again with a brand new ferry planned for 2026. Fingers crossed it happens!
thts intresting watching u reel back wards when fish are hitting mate instead of putting bail arm over and over umm very good i will be trying tht next boat trip
I've done it for years, seems to work well. I know you can control the sink rate by taking the bail arm off and feathering the line but I find this works well, especially if you;re using heavy lures
Another awesome video Nathan, my dream one day is to fish Norway, I am surprised to see that you caught a Mackerel , didn't think they would go up that far North 🎣
Same here, it's taken me 10 years to get a trip like this...you'll get there one day. Yeah, there was loads of mackerel and up to 2lb. Absolute monsters!
I kow, highlights how poor the UK fishing can be compared to places like this. It could have been me (,y new 2nd home), but Chris lives on Sark. Hope you enjoyed, say hi next time you see me. Tight lines
We did have a great time, but yes, there were long periods without fish, especially at the end of the day. They seemed just to switch off. I didn't weight my biggest but estimate it at about 15lb, Chris' biggest was 20l and the biggest of the day
What was the cost please Nathan we have been to Norway 3 times but your trip sounds great with that 1 flight we had 2 each way and had to travel from the north east to London 2 flights
what an amazing place
Another coffee lol, watching this 1,awesome,some great fish caught, enjoyed,All the Best,Ally
AT least you found something to watch! I hope you managed to get some kip Ally. Tight lines!
Big fish on light gear, so much fun. Those mountains in the background were stunning, it’s definitely on my list of places to go now Nate 🤩
It's stunnig out there, the fishing isn't too bad either...you'd love it!

@ScottishLureFishing2024 thanks! I had a look at those cameras at a boat show, but thought the footage looked shaky, I'll have another look at them

Morning Steve, According to the skipper, that was a so-so day, but we were happy enough. Tight lines👍🎣
Thanks for the video. Those are nice clean-looking fish, you're making me hungry.😊
Haha, They were great. Lasse cleaned all of the fish we kep and I think he ended up with 18kg of fillets for his freezer!

You won’t catch those off Port William…..😏Think you and Chris were in The View a couple of Saturdays ago when I was picking up my fish and chips…

by the look and sounds of it you both had a good day, did you have long periods of not catching? what was your biggest cod of the day?
We did have a great time, but yes, there were long periods without fish, especially at the end of the day. They seemed just to switch off. I didn't weight my biggest but estimate it at about 15lb, Chris' biggest was 20l and the biggest of the day
Just like fishing the yellow can off WB. 😉
I think the fishing off the can is a bit better 🤔
What was the cost please Nathan we have been to Norway 3 times but your trip sounds great with that 1 flight we had 2 each way and had to travel from the north east to London 2 flights
I had 2 flights from Edinburgh to Oslo and then onto Trumpso. Think i paid 400 quid with an extra bag and a rod tube
Sorry great video
Thanks!
Amazing fishing I was surprised to see a mackerel on a 40g sandy Andy
They are that big up there, you need a 6/0 hook just to get through them
Was your flight direct from edinburgh
Edinburgh to Oslo, then on to Tromso
I put money on it chris was not a sea fisherman. I would say a salmon guy ?
:-)
Not really a boat fisherman. Usually green as a turtle. 🐢
🤣
That was dull.
Dull. Wenlock. Nuff said.
