Well formulated thoughts. Really enjoyed your perspective on the marketing and cost of fragrances and expensive ingredients like Iris/orris. I love Iris and when reviewers brought up the caramel note, I knew this was not for me. Love eating it and making it, but as a note in perfumes, I get easily nose fatigued by dessert centric notes. Smells delicious for five minutes and then I just want out 😂. Too bad they didn’t make this more of an Iris scent.
Agree with all of that, and thank you!
You nailed this review Henna. I love Iris so I bought a sample and was disappointed with it. I’m not much of a gourmand lover and there was way too much caramel for me.
Yeah, way too much. Thanks for the comment. 🙏🏽
perfect review - I love Iris for a long time before it was popular. I love the bottle with the black leather bow, but I don't smell the Iris. My favorite Iris's are in Chanel.
Chanel does nice cold Iris so well. No. 19?
yes you nailed it again - I guess its my favorite perfume I have basically of the Chanel's as I have collected them over the years but 19 is so special. I like 1932 alot as well but I believe that only has a smidge of Iris. I also love Cristalle edt at times.@@CanadianBeautyBlog
@JLOinthecity they’re so good!
I got it and enjoy it, wanted to have a Shalimar in my collection for a long time. I did expect more iris , but still I think is nice and I am not one to like sweet fragrances. It has almost a leather kind of smell on top of the citruses. Still regret not getting the tonka one last year, smelled it and really enjoyed it the most. 😢
At least this will tide you over until next year’s.
Thank you for the review...🙏🏾... "Gen Z Shalimar" 😂 I'm so gonna use that term lol.
😄✌🏽
Everyone was double hyped for this!
What a let down.
@@CanadianBeautyBlog what has happened to Guerlain is really sad
@@RichMitch and yet, I’m curious about the extraits.
@@CanadianBeautyBlog I know, me too. I think it's just the brand recognition that keeps them interesting.
The price is scary though. Over here, it's 500 pounds for 50ml 🙃
Yep… $600+ here.
When the reviews said caramel...I was wondering what type of caramel it is cause there's the obnoxious type and there's the realistic type haha!
It’s just too much.
A collectors Shalimar suited for GenZ Gurls...I think it's great. I would love a bottle!
I bet you are killing it in Shalimar Powder, carry on :)
Slay all day.
that would be L'Heure Bleue (Slaying ;)@@CanadianBeautyBlog
