You should check out the Nano TVs of 2020 for gaming, find out what a few years can do
u got one Thomas ?
I have a 49 inch LG TV and I tested the input lag using my Wii U. I checked the timing between the screen and Gamepad and yes, noticeable lag on it. Luckily that was fixed when I switched the TV to game mode! I do like the idea of this nano cell TV, hopefully we’ll still see this when 8K comes!
Lg oled with gsync what a dream. With no sound in it. We don’t need sound in the screen
Oled or nano cell?
that spot at the end........
I have a series x, but I don’t want to pay a arm and a leg to see the full potential of the six, and suggestions?
I swear UA-cam keeps unsubscribing me from my channels... I was unsubbed from this one, when I know I haven't. missing lot of content from my previous subs, dafuq UA-cam!!!
Wait what?.. The LG C7 has an input lag of 21ms (tested by rtings) and your panel should be the same... Did you have the input label set to PC?... That turns on true game mode.
Could you maybe make the Ultimate sleeper laptop in a video?
I have a cheapo 1080p led tv and I don't experience any noticeable lag, games seem great with my pc. why is that?
GSync? I think you meant adaptive sync...

I’ll stick to my 10 inch, cinematic 24 FPS CRT TV, thank you very much.
lol i remember watching crt's... that warm mesmerizing glow. now i dont even watch tv pretty much.
The standard for CRT's is actually 60hz thank you very much......
I have 50hz Sony FD Trinitron 28" widescreen flat CRT PAL TV from 2005. It does have really good response time, colors, contrast and blacks are really back. Mostly I use it to play PS3 (connected with RGB Scart) and watch anime.
Edit: NTSC CRT's is 60Hz
CRT's typically have extremely high refresh rates!
CRTs only have very high refresh rates at low resolutions.
For half the price of OLED it's actually an awesome TV for gaming. 👍
I'm not sure how this helps making a buying decision. It gets compared against OLED in an entire different price leave, and a gaming monitor, which is mostly used with PCs rather than consoles. I would have liked to see it compared against other TVs from competing brands to see if this one is indeed faster.
That’s completely typical for this channel
G-sync? Perhaps better to stick with the free open standard for Adaptive Sync instead. Then we might see it utilized on consoles to. And Nvidia might actually have to start suporting standrds to :P
Daniel Liljeberg nvidia knows they can get away with their own technologies and people will pay out the ass for it
"free open standards dictating what tech is used in consumer devices"
HDMI vs DisplayPort
The problem with FreeSync is GPU market share. There are nearly 4x as many discrete GPUs out there with G-Sync support as FreeSync, so if you adopt FreeSync, you've ignored the significant majority of the gaming market. Of course, this could change if consoles or nVidia GPUs added support for FreeSync.
ofc, part of the issue ;)
What? FreeSync works over both Displayport and HDMI. If I remember correctly it's G-sync that is quite limited.
Linus: At last a good TV for gaming..
Also Linus: Anyway no gamer is gonna use this..
He said "professional" players wouldn't use it. Professional gamer ≠ casual gamer.
Im a filthy casual and I won't use this lol.
I play BF4 / BF1 and PUBG on 55UH950 it have 26ms input lag , RIP everyone ( check my game play :P )
haha the whole premise is fucked, heavy gamers almost always have a 24" 144hz monitor or better, and no reputable gamer is switching out a few of those for any tv.
Some of us don't care about playing crappy mainstream twitch shooters and 20-30ms input lag is indiscernible when playing other DECENT games. A sony bravia is amazing for gaming and affordable. No lag (and I'm very sensitive to it actually), amazing picture quality too.
I don't care about 4k. 1080p is good enough. Fuck having a 24" monitor LOL dm sanchi - you are wrong. Most heavy gamers do not have a 144hz monitor. A very small minority do. I'm a heavy gamer and my Sony is perfect for that and shits all over many monitors (and I've had many good ones). You guys really are just being very picky. I love quality, but I'm not gaming on a 24" tiny screen lol.
I have a monitor I use as a 2nd screen, has great picture quality, 2ms response time and I wouldn't ever game on it again after going to a big screen. If you're anal and care so much about pixel density etc, good for you, but don't label all gamers as idiots just because they don't sit in front of a tiny screen

I think they're more likely to adopt Vesa/AMD FreeSync than G-Sync Linus as essentially all consoles run AMD hardware and it can then also be implemented in other non-computer gear also. Especially given that G-Sync only works over DisplayPort while FreeSync works on HDMI

I seriously doubt that there ever will be a device that combines a TV with a Gaming monitor without marketing deception. Gaming is technically too complicated for a TV.
I just wanna pop it....
I agree. The zoom just made it worse.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw it. You'd think whoever edited it would've told'em and have them do the scene over again or at least got rid of that horrible zoom...It's almost like they were zooming in on purpose.
Haha was just scrolling down to see if anyone had noticed and commented on the breakout. It just looks gross when they're zooming in lol
This tv seems awesome, and there is nothing worse than input lag when gaming. I still thought it was weird though when 4k tv's started coming out and a lot of people where like man it's so crazy it looks so amazing. And they do they look great but my friends were all thinking of buying them and I started telling them how they were insanely overpriced especially because it's not like 4k is some new technology and convinced them to wait till they go down which they have tremendously. They're only lime 500 bucks for a 50 inch now. Really the resolution is 3840x2160 so there's 3840 pixels in a horizontal line and 2160 pixels in a vertical line so the size of your tv affects how big the pixels actually are. My friend used to have a 32 inch 1080p tv and I have a 22 inch 1080p tv (for my pc mostly) one day we were set up playing a game with both our tvs so we didn't have to split screen and he kept looking at my tv and saying man your tv looks better than mine. really it was just because the pixels were smaller on my tv and we were close enough to see the difference. He had a sharp aquos or what ever they were called and mine was an RCA I bought for 150 dollars from the drug store. This was 5 or 6 years ago but a couple years later all of a sudden there's talk of these ultra hd tv's and it's like ok and then 4k but I started thinking more about it and really since the time 720p came out they pretty much had the technology to make 4k tvs. Theres a huge difference between the pixel size of a 20 inch, 720p tv and a 60 inch, 720p tv. But the pixels on a 20 inch 720p tv are the same size as the pixels on a 60 inch, 4k so they could have made 4k tvs like 10 or 15 years ago, they probably would have been clunky as shit but it was possible. but that's the way it is and has been for a very long time. they have the technology but if they sold the newest technology right now then what would they sell you tomorrow? same reason companies make products that will break after about 2 years. But they have the technology to make insane tvs like 16k resolution or even better than that and i mean they could do it right now in fact they probably could have done it years ago. think about it your smart phone is probably 1080p probably better and it's only say a 5 inch screen for math purposes so if you used the same size pixels and doubled the screen size that's 4k on a 10 inch screen. Double again that's a 20 inch 8k tv. Double again that's a 40 inch tv at 16k. Totally possible and most phones like i said are better than 1080p so it would be more than that. What's crazy is that you think can fit about 60 pixels from your phone screen into one pixel on a 40 inch 1080p tv because 1080p has something like 2 million pixels and the theoretical 40 inch 16k tv (which would have the same size pixels as my phone) would have 128 million pixels which would mean in the place of one pixel on a 1080p 40 inch tv there would be 64 pixles. All of that really made me think what the hell when I first saw a tv that was 4k which meant it was double the resolution of my tv but was also double the size at 44 inches which means the pixels in both tvs were the same size there was just 4 times more of them. But instead of 4 times the price of my tv which would have been 600 dollars or even twice that at 1200 just because its the new cool thing. but no, they started at like 3000 and that's not even for a good brand. as if it was some crazy thing like we were so lucky there R&D department made this new tv when really they just used the same stuff they had lying around in the factory. they didn't struggle to shrink the technology down it was already shrunk, and it was right in front of our very eyes yet they are selling it almost like it's new technology. They literally had to just take 4 20 inch 1080p tvs and stick them together and boom. you got yourself a 4k tv
Why don't TVs have Freesynce yet? It's a free standard FFS!

Please Linus do not encourage manufacturers to implement G-sync on their montitors/TV but Freesync. We hope that adaptive frame rate synchronization will be a standard technology soon and if we encourage the Nvidia based technology, we will have to pay for it.

This. Freesync being the standard would benefit the consumer more than gsync.

Sam Harrington Freesync is open source, so once Nvidia are no longer able to milk people's money via G-Sync, they'll end up supporting Freesync on their cards too.

The LG sk8500 has a 13ms input lag in game mode
The problem with lg tvs is the horrible contrast ratio. Maybe input is descent. But if you will play in dark room or at night with lights out, the blacks look gray and colors look washed out. When the lights are on it is ok. That is because LG is using IPS panels (instead of VA) on ALL their led tvs (god knows why as the viewing angles are not that good, especially since you are already losing quality looking at it from the front) which is giving them horrible contrast. I've recently returned new 2018 model LG led and got a sony. Best decision i made recently.....
LG may be good for bright colored full screen games, but Horrible for cinema style, night or dark scenes. Only 12/6 o'clock viewing, with horrible haloing and back light burst that ruin the experience. My 6 year old complains about the picture! 😂😕😭

Your numbers on input lag don't match what rtings came up with in their testing (your results are slightly over double their 15.1 ms for 4k @ 60hz in game mode). Just curious as to why that is...???
Edit: 1080p @ 60hz was 15 ms btw
Edit 2: www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/sj8500
maybe linus is also gaming so just the gpu already needs 16.67ms to render the frame...

Samsung had a 20 MS tv... this thing is too slow. My slower Sony TV is like 30-33MS, which is still faster than anything LG has.
Why is this thing supposed to be fast at nearly 40? Even 30 is too much. Actually 20 is the bare minimum for enjoying computer games and shooters. Especially if you are used to 1 ms at 144 hz.
The OLED actually has a 120 Hz mode and according to the Leo Bodnar test, the input lag is 21 ms.
Rtings measure lg sj8500 input lag 15ms. Not sure about your monitor do you speak 1ms response time or input lag? Lg oled has 0.1ms response time but input lag 21ms.
linus doesn't really use the best method to measure input delay... also he measures it during gaming, if they are gaming at 60hz that means 16.67ms of lag is because the gpu needs to render the frame first. Probably also a few ms of lag for the cpu and maybe even the mouse.
Personally I have a 55" LG b7v oled with 21ms input delay and almost instant response time, as a PC monitor actually : )
the oled does not have a true 120 hz mode, it's marketing, all tv's are 60 hz.
I have the B7V OLED as PC monitor. It does have true 120hz mode, but 1080p only. So I never use it (I did try it) because I'm always on 4K60.
In my experience with LG TVs (I've owned 3) labeling the HDMI port as PC rather than Games Console will DRAMATICALLY reduce processing and input lag regardless of whichever picture profile used,

I think the 2017 vizio p-series is probably one of the best. 12.2 ms of input lag at 1080/120hz. 14-15 otherwise and has as high as 10000:1 contrast with local dimming (almost 10x this tv)
Input lag is much higher using 4K HDR though. I think it's aroud 60 ms or so which is among the slowest compared to the competition. Not that most people would even notice however.
yeah true, but hdr gaming is still pretty niche so it probably wouldn't bother most
"Finally" a TV for gaming? I swear this channel gets more elitist by the day. Damn near any television is fine for gaming. As long as there aren't lip sync issues and you aren't playing competitively for your primary source of income, nearly any television is fine. Especially if it has a game mode, which most have had for nearly ten years. This channel is excellent in representing dissatisfaction with what we have and encourages unnecessary upgrades. I RuBiiX I yes it is lol, educate yourself
I RuBiiX You are just too stupid, even if it is better, which it's not, Gsync monitors are 100$+ more expensive than freesync monitors.
I RuBiiX I kiddo, lie all you want, be the internet badass. But you won't say things about my Financial state. I'm 197cm tall and 90kg of a pretty reasonable amount of muscle. 8 year KravMaga student, I think you don't stand a chance.. I'm 19 and still in collage but my dad is a owner of a chain of restoraunts and drives a Tesla Model 3, soon the X and my mom writes some projects for some company who helps.. bla bla it's complicated. I'm pretty sure they make more money in a year than you do in 10 years. But they don't let me get spoiled, so I have an iPhone 7 plus in which I put my own 200$. Either way does your GSYNC have HDR support, can it support as many devices as FreeSync can? 1-3ms of difference is nothing if you pay an extra 100-200$ for it... Also I don't swear and don't threaten people and some random kiddos over the internet. I live my life kick bullies out of the way and keep going, good luck in your asshole life in England. Keep being a badass and you'll get your ass kicked some day, bye.
I RuBiiX I
I think you started the insulting, with your f-words. I don't believe an "ex royal marine" calls themselves I RuBiiX I, a kid name. My dad was in the army I think about 11-12 years in the USA, I'm not quite sure. He was shot twice in his lower stomach and his right thigh. I forgot to mention I study programming and I make Web Sites in my free time. And in a few years I will coown the restoraunt chain. Either way you are like a 30-40 year old guy driving trucks and I'm still a student. I don't know how succesful I might be but I'm happy the way it is now. I won't even try to argue about the fighting, it's a childish move. You think you are some kind of superman destroying eyes, ripping knee-caps, what not and claiming you are not intimidated. No one is ever not intimidated. Everyone can get intimidated, it's natural. I can't believe we went from a gsync-freesync fight to this nonesence. Just stupid. And yes, I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a third world country but I'm in Germany for collage. I don't even care anymore and as I said earlier, good luck in your life and your job. Bye
Why do so many women, near the onset of middle-age, dye their hair unnatural colors like they are still in college taking Women's Study courses?
ABQSentinel hah! Its lesbian dance theory, get it right. God, you're dumb
If they are hot I don't mind. :)

Then cutting their hair just damn short too.
As a warning.
I keep seeing reviews about the LG Nano Cell 85 that there are some issues with the colors, like the blacks are not really blacks. I saw a review on youtube and indeed, the black colors are more like navy blue. What's going on with this $800 tv ? Thank you.
Because the PC gaming on a TV market has never been worth the time and money to bring that tech to everyday TVs! People game on consoles where the difference makes no difference when using a controller. If a big influx of PC gamers started using TVs then that would be a focus!
